INEOS Grenadier Owner Drives 28,000 Miles Across 60 Countries

Despite being relatively new to the market, the INEOS Grenadier is not only inspired by classic off-roading icons, but is a highly capable and rugged luxury SUV in its own right, with owners and enthusiasts taking the Grenadier on epic adventures that have showcased its amazing capabilities. The latest was completed by Grenadier owner Becky Kim, who spent 122 days traveling 28,254 miles across 60 different countries. The adventure started in Kim’s home city, Nairobi, and she set off with her co-driver, Bonnie Koko, in February. Leaving Kenya, the pair traversed through eastern Africa towards South Africa and its legendary Cape Agulhas, before journeying back through western Africa and north through Europe. Completing the iconic Cape-to-Cape challenge from Cape Agulhas to Norway’s Nordkapp, just part of Becky Kim’s journey was becoming the first woman believed to have driven the Cape-to-Cape. After reaching Nordkapp, the journey’s final destination was London’s Grenadier pub, and Kim made it there in June. For each country the pair traveled through, a sticker was added to the rear windscreen of the car, and those countries included Mozambique, Nigeria, Senegal, Bulgaria, Greece, Switzerland, Denmark, and many more. The journey saw intense desert heat and Arctic cold alike, with several different climates and terrains in between, and Becky’s INEOS Grenadier Trailmaster was unmodified for the journey. The SUV’s standard locking differentials were essential to traverse challenging parts of the journey, as were its raised air intake, its BFGoodrich T/A K02 tires, and its BMW-derived diesel powertrain. Designed for extreme adventurers, INEOS Automotive’s support network is strategically deployed along the iconic route, catering to drivers who make these kinds of trips. With impressive capability as an off-roader and a passionate circle of wanderlusting owners, the INEOS Grenadier is quickly building a legacy as one of the world’s favorite off-roading companions. New INEOS Grenadier Trialmaster X Revealed

Designed to look like a longstanding classic off-roader and having already proven itself as capable as those legends, the INEOS Grenadier is already a success, despite being relatively new to the market. Recently, the Grenadier was the vehicle of choice for fine art photographer and explorer John Balsdon as he took on the legendary Cape to Cape challenge, traversing much of the globe from north to south, and the journey broke a time record with not only one but two INEOS Grenadiers achieving the feat. A new flagship INEOS Grenadier has now been unveiled, the Trialmaster X, and it’s the most capable and well-equipped model in the INEOS Grenadier lineup. Combining the rugged capability of the Trialmaster with the refinement of the Fieldmaster, the Trialmaster X is both luxurious and uncompromising. Available in both the station wagon and Quartermaster pickup body styles, the new INEOS Grenadier Trialmaster X is defined by features like trim-specific badging, front and rear locking differentials, 17-inch wheels, a raised air intake, and more. Comfort-focused features include two-tone leather upholstery, a premium sound system, heated front seats, privacy glass, and more. With the best of the luxury and capability that the INEOS Grenadier has to offer, the new Trialmaster X is a bold new flagship in a growing off-roader legacy. Cape To Cape Record Broken With INEOS Grenadier

The INEOS Grenadier, despite being quite new to the market, has a look and design cues that are reminiscent of the most cherished classic off-roaders. That’s a deliberate move, as the INEOS Grenadier is inspired by the off-roading vehicles that characterized past decades. While reviving their legacy, the Grenadier also exists in a competitive SUV market with those very nameplates that have lasted for years, and INEOS Automotive has proved quite successful with the model. With impressive versatility and rugged design, the INEOS Grenadier is quickly building a legacy as a highly capable off-road vehicle, and the latest feather in its cap comes from a broken world record, achieved by adventurer John Balsdon, who got behind the wheel of the Grenadier for the Cape to Cape challenge. The legendary challenge involves getting from the North Cape in Norway to Cape Agulhas, the southernmost point of South Africa. With a distance of well over 12,000 miles, the Cape to Cape challenge is one of the toughest long-distance driving challenges, and Balsdon, along with a five-person support team, crossed the finish line in just 28 days and 13 hours, breaking the previous record from 1984 by five hours. The journey consisted of an incredible variety of conditions, with temperatures going well below freezing and then well above 100 degrees Fahrenheit. The African leg of the trip had to be completed with little time for breaks; Angola, Namibia, and South Africa were traversed in just two days. By completing the drive while towing an expedition trailer and bringing two cars simultaneously for the trip, two other records were broken. As a fine art photographer, Balsdon also captured the journey on film, with a documentary set to premiere later this year. About the journey, Balsdon said, “Our Grenadiers took us from the coldest place in Europe to the hardest and hottest places in Africa. They were heavily laden, with one of them towing an expedition trailer for nearly 24,000 kilometres.  It was tough on us but much tougher on the cars - but they performed and were reliable no matter the environment or our demands.  Being with them across this journey showed us the character of these cars and they endeared themselves to all six of us!” INEOS Automotive provided full expedition prep for the team and kitted out the cars before the start of the journey. Demonstrating undeniable capability by tackling a journey from some of the northernmost to the southernmost reaches of our world, the INEOS Grenadier, John Balsdon, and the expedition team all have reason to celebrate an amazing achievement. INEOS Debuts New Grenadier Prototypes At Goodwood

INEOS explores the future potential of its 4x4 lineup. With the Grenadier, INEOS Automotive brought a new entry into the competitive market of go-anywhere off-roading vehicles, dominated by staples with cult followings, unmistakable silhouettes, and decades-long legacies. Despite this, the Grenadier has proven successful, combining versatility with capability, luxury, and rugged style. Now at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, INEOS Automotive is previewing possible next moves, with the debut of a fleet of prototypes that may foretell its future. The first two are portal-axled versions of the Grenadier SUV and the Grenadier Quartermaster pickup, modified by Le Tech to have greater wade depth and increased ground clearance. Along with those prototypes are a shortened Quartermaster pickup, nicknamed “Shortermaster,” and a V8-powered Grenadier SUV modified by INEOS engineering partner Magna. After that are an 8-seater Safari conversion and an FIA-compliant rally-ready Grenadier by Buzz Special Vehicles. With its existing success as a rugged off-roading machine, the INEOS Grenadier is only at the beginning of making its mark on the world of adventuring 4x4s, as evidenced by the debuts of creative, unique reinterpretations of it, whether that be swapping its BMW-derived 3.0-liter inline-six engine for a 6.2-liter V8 engine from GM, modifying it for rally racing, or for a Safari expedition. For INEOS Automotive, the future of exploration off the beaten path is incredibly exciting. View All INEOS Grenadiers For Sale Image Source: INEOS Automotive

An INEOS Grenadier 4X4 Tackles Extreme Underground Trial ...

An INEOS Grenadier 4X4 has been put to the test underground at the K+S potash plant in Zielitz, central Germany, as part of an extended test trial program. The test aims to highlight the Grenadier's durability and capabilities in an especially challenging industrial environment, where the salt-rich conditions add an extra layer of difficulty. The plant mines around 45,000 tons of raw salt daily, with some sections reaching 4,265 feet below the surface. To withstand these harsh conditions, the Grenadier is equipped with standard underbody protection, including front and rear guards and a fuel tank guard. It also offers exceptional corrosion protection, complete with electrocoating, wax sealing in the cavities, and powder coating on the exterior.  INEOS is confident in the Grenadier's capabilities, having subjected the 4X4 to over 1.1 million miles of testing during its development phase. This included extreme conditions such as minus 31-degree temperatures, altitudes over 8,202 feet, and the notorious Schöckl mountain in Austria. The INEOS Grenadier combines rugged British spirit and design with German engineering precision. The Grenadier features a full box-section ladder frame chassis, heavy-duty solid beam axles, a two-speed transfer case, and up to three locking differentials. It is powered by a BMW 3.0-litre turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine, available in both gas or diesel.  The Grenadier Station Wagon, Quartermaster pick-up, and Quartermaster Chassis Cab are all built at the state-of-the-art Hambach factory in Moselle, which INEOS Automotive acquired in January 2021. The factory employs 1,700 people and represents a significant investment in the future of rugged, durable 4X4s. Whether on-road, off-road, or deep underground, the INEOS Grenadier 4X4 is built to deliver. View all INEOS Grenadiers for sale on duPont REGISTRY by clicking the link below.
