Living life at 200 mph as a professional Formula 1 driver certainly makes everyday driving seem boring, but when it comes to exploring unpaved roads in the wilderness, it’s an entirely different world. Just ahead of the United States Grand Prix in Austin, Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team drivers George Russell and Kimi Antonelli spent some time behind the wheel of two INEOS Grenadier 4x4s, taking them out for a rip off the pavement.
The adventure starts with INEOS’ new “Grit Stop” campaign, outfitting the Grenadiers with off-road accessories, camping gear, and other upgrades before the drivers headed back out. The idea is to show how the Grenadier can be customized to suit different owners, whether they’re planning a weekend camping trip or looking for a 4x4 ready to explore the trails.
The two set off on mountain tracks and forest trails to test the Grenadier’s off-road capabilities. The builds also included a few options near and dear to their hearts, a custom trunk slot for George’s padel gear and a custom tiramisu drawer for Kimi. The campaign, called “Make Grenadier Your Own,” highlights the range of customization options available to buyers, all available through the online configurator.
INEOS remains a principal partner and one-third shareholder in the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team. While the Grenadier is the polar opposite of the F1 cars they drive on race weekends, it’s undoubtedly just as fun to adventure off-road with a mountain top campsite in mind.
