Jaguar Unveils New Retail Flagship

On October 6, Jaguar delivered the climactic answer to years of speculation and anticipation, unveiling the Type 01, a four-door, all-electric grand tourer with over 1,000 horsepower, a boldly monolithic design, and futuristic luxury. Captivating and powerful as it may be, the new Jaguar needs a place to live, and to answer that question, Jaguar has now introduced a new flagship retail location, located in Knightsbridge, in the heart of London. The new venue is the first physical expression of Jaguar’s revolutionized brand, and it serves as a place for clients and visitors alike to experience the new identity Jaguar has to offer. The brand has a storied heritage with London, and the new flagship location reconnects Jaguar with the city. Alongside Jaguar’s new luxurious grand tourer, the location brings together art, architecture, and culture for an immersive experience. Café Eighty‑One lies at the heart of the new Jaguar flagship, a new hospitality concept that is open throughout the day, showcasing modern British culture through its experience. Lithia UK has been selected as the retail partner for the new Knightsbridge location, boasting a longstanding partnership with JLR, including operating the Mayfair, London Land Rover location. <- Gallery -> 91 years ago, the first SS Jaguar was introduced in the nearby Mayfair. Jaguar Unveils The New Type 01

Jaguar has been lying in wait. It’s been years since the manufacturer unveiled a new model, and the brand all but went dormant for some time. In its hibernation, Jaguar suddenly revealed completely changed branding: a new wordmark, a revised Leaper, and its “Copy Nothing” ethos, all set against backgrounds full of vivid color. Subsequently, the manufacturer unveiled its Type 00 concept, a dramatic all-electric grand tourer with futuristic minimalism, dramatic proportions, and massive butterfly doors. After the Type 00 concept made appearances across the globe, a new production Jaguar broke cover, albeit in camouflage. With over 1,000 horsepower and the goal of bringing Jaguar’s philosophy of grand touring models with elegance and power in equal measure to the modern day, the new model’s name was revealed to be the Type 01. The name represents a bold new age for the iconic British luxury manufacturer, and, at long last, that age begins today. Already talked about throughout the automotive world for years before today’s launch, Jaguar’s new Type 01 has decades of expectations to live up to, and several questions to answer. To that end, Jaguar chose to reveal its new grand tourer in New York City, with digital displays in Times Square, Dumbo, and the Lower East Side, and a dynamic arrival at West Chelsea’s STORIED, serendipitously located in zip code 10001. GALLERY-EMBED Unlike the Type 00 Concept, the Type 01 is a four-door grand tourer. Besides that, though, the production model looks strikingly similar to the concept that preceded it. The car features a long hood, a decidedly minimal silhouette, a low roofline, and an undeniably dramatic stance. The production model features concept-like design drama thanks to Jaguar taking a design-first approach with the Type 01. The manufacturer started with a clean-sheet design and built a car around its beauty, refusing to compromise. Painstakingly refined with virtual and wind tunnel testing, the Type 01 is the most aerodynamic production Jaguar yet, at 0.23 Cd. Alongside 50:50 weight distribution, that figure represents some of the groundbreaking engineering behind Jaguar’s bold new grand touring EV. For Jaguar, no existing platform, architecture, or technology could quite accommodate what the manufacturer wanted to achieve with the Type 01, so the car’s new JEA (Jaguar Electric Architecture) was created in-house. Its technical advancement is highlighted by the fact that Jaguar has over 360 patent applications for technology in the Type 01. GALLERY-EMBED The drivetrain utilizes three motors and a 118-kWh battery, with a total of 1,015 horsepower and 1,007 lb/ft of torque. The new Jaguar Type 01 is capable of a 3.1-second 0-60 time and, for moments like overtaking, a 4.0-second acceleration from 60 to 112 mph. Rather than focusing purely on straight-line acceleration, Jaguar created the Type 01 to deliver refined, yet compelling performance. Rear-axle steering provides dynamics that defy the tourer’s length, and the gear ratios are inspired by Formula E, but are refined for cruising. Created with long, pleasurable drives in mind, the new Jaguar Type 01 boasts an estimated 400 miles of range. With 850-volt architecture, rapid DC charging can add 200 miles of driving range in as little as 13 minutes. Jon Darlington, Architecture Chief Engineer at Jaguar, commented, “Type 01’s duality of character is testament to the hundreds of thousands of hours of development work by our engineering and vehicle dynamic teams on virtual simulators and proving grounds around the world.” One of the most important ideas behind the design of the Jaguar Type 01 was to create a sense of occasion on every drive. As such, the interior features a four-seat layout, with a central spine that runs nearly the entire length of the cabin. The spine splits the interior into four individual spaces for each occupant, especially cocooning the driver with both luxury and performance in mind. GALLERY-EMBED A motif seen throughout is a brass-inspired finish, denoting the central spine and the tops of the doors. The new Jaguar Leaper is seen embossed within, against the Type 01’s new Strikethrough detail as a background. Rather than interrupt the dashboard with a large central screen, the Type 01 opts for a 24-inch screen ahead of the steering wheel, combining instrument displays with infotainment controls. Meant to be accessed by both the driver and passenger, a seven-inch, smartphone-style screen is placed in the center for intuitive controls like climate and audio settings. The rear passengers share another seven-inch screen for comfort settings as well. The rear seats, which feature 50:50 split folding capability, are also heated and cooled, and the cabin enjoys the open-air feeling of a panoramic glass roof with a standard adjustable virtual blind feature. The new Jaguar Type 01, like its Type 00 concept counterpart, distinguishingly lacks rear glass. In lieu of a rear-view mirror and rear glass, the Type 01 features a ClearSight Rear View Display, placed on the dashboard rather than in the conventional placement of a rear-view mirror. Also on the dashboard is a Panoramic Soundbar, offering a luxurious and high-quality sound experience while elegantly hiding the speakers rather than using prominently visible speaker grilles. Helping accommodate rear-seat passengers comfortably, the rear floor is lowered to preserve the dramatically low roofline. Jaguar achieved this by removing battery cells that would otherwise sit under the rear floor, placing 32 cells between the A-pillar and the front axle. Jaguar’s strikethrough detail can be seen on the dashboard of the Type 01, not only introducing a beautiful design element, but also tying together the visuals of the interior and exterior, as the strikethrough comes across the windshield, stretching towards the hood of the car. GALLERY-EMBED One of the first noticeable details of the Type 01’s exterior is the long hood and dramatic proportions. While Jaguar set out to create the Type 01 unafraid to defy convention, its history informed some of the new EV’s design choices, namely the legendary E-Type and the XJS. The Type 01 aims to honor its predecessors by, like them, introducing something new and different to the automotive world. Jaguar chose to highlight the Type 01’s proportions with what it calls its “luxury gap,” an immense, nearly three-foot space between the center of the front wheel and the front door. Sitting directly within that gap is the Type 01’s “Fender Ingot,” a brass-inspired detail featuring the iconic Jaguar Leaper and the car’s signature strikethrough detail, just like the interior. 23-inch wheels come as standard on the Jaguar Type 01, while 21-inch wheels are also available. At the center of all of them lie Jaguar’s new monogram logo. Going to great lengths for its stunning minimalism, the Type 01 features flush-mounted door handles and a single rear quarter panel that stretches from the top of the A-pillar to the rear of the car. Named the “Impossible Panel,” it features subtle contours reminiscent of the flick of a pen and requires a six-stage pressing process. “With Type 01, we wanted to create something where every journey is an occasion, from how it looks to how it drives and how it makes occupants feel. Type 01 will never arrive unnoticed,” says Andrew Wheel, JLR Design Development Director. The slimmest headlights on a Jaguar yet are the jewelry of the Type 01’s new front fascia. Framing the Strikethrough in the center, the four lines formed by the headlight assemblies give the new Type 01 an unmistakable face. Active vanes give the vehicle an elegant look when they are closed, but open to provide cooling and airflow for the propulsion system and brakes. The rear of the vehicle is defined by its lack of glass, evoking a powerful, monolithic sense, with rear lights that are hidden until they are on. The color palette consists of both gloss and satin finishes, each giving the striking design of the new Type 01 a slightly different personality. Visionary Silver, Dramatic White, Iconic Black, Compelling Blue, and Refined Grey are available in gloss finishes, while Modernist Blue and Mesmerizing Copper are available in Satin. Meanwhile, the Type 01 Design Vision Edition features Visionary Silver Satin, along with unique wheels for a distinct look. In addition, Jaguar’s Chromatic Moments collection for the Type 01 nods to some of the striking iterations of the Type 00 concept car, showcasing the Type 01 in the Type 00’s London Red and French Ultramarine. The special collection is limited to just 60 examples globally. The interior color palette for the new Jaguar Type 01 is divided into “Stories,” combining Kvadrat wool-blend fabric with leather or Ultrafabrics™ NeoGrain. The Light Story uses Dusk Grey, the Dark Story uses Dark Oyster, and the Original Story, for the ‘Curated by Jaguar’ Design Vision Edition, uses Orchid White. Mary Crisp, Chief Materiality Designer at Jaguar, commented, “The subtle play of light and shadow is complemented by moments of bold color throughout the cabin which give even the simplest of actions, such as opening a storage area, a sense of drama and theater.” Designed, engineered, and built in the UK, the new Jaguar Type 01 is a bold reintroduction to the automotive world of one of its favorite brands. Like its predecessors, the new Type 01 provides performance and luxury in generous proportions, with stunning looks and innovation to match. “From its dramatic design to its captivating drive, Type 01 distils the essence of Jaguar into a luxury grand tourer for a new era,” says Rawdon Glover, Jaguar’s Managing Director. Actress Florence Pugh is the first brand ambassador for Jaguar’s new era, with British singer-songwriter Sienna Spiro performing at the new Type 01’s unveiling event. Orders are set to open for the new Type 01 in early 2027. With deliveries set to take place in the second half of that year, prices are expected to start at $130,500, offering buyers immense power and head-turning looks for their money when compared to luxury performance EVs of a similar caliber. With the cover finally broken on the new Type 01 four-door grand tourer, Jaguar has returned. View All Jaguar For Sale Image Source: JLR

Jaguar Reveals The Type 01 Interior

Jaguar has spent the last few years radically transforming, and after its Type 00 concept previewed what the new era of the brand would look like, the historic British luxury manufacturer announced its first new production model in a long time, the Type 01. An all-electric grand tourer with four doors and 1,000 horsepower, the Type 01 is due to be fully revealed in New York on October 6. However, before that, a prototype of the new electric tourer is coming to this year’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, and Jaguar has unveiled the interior of its upcoming model. Designed with drama and a sense of occasion in mind, the interior features a central spine that runs the full length of the cabin, dividing the space into four individual compartments, bringing concept-car style to a production model. Cocooning the driver with a low seating position, the interior aims to inspire confidence for the driver. Luxurious inspirations for the interior include brass, travertine, and textiles, and a brass-inspired detail can be seen on the central spine and the tops of the doors. Those details also feature the legendary Jaguar leaper emblem. A linear motif can be seen throughout the interior, and that motif visually merges the dashboard with the hood of the Jaguar Type 01, as well, creating a unique statement. Infotainment displays and systems are seamlessly integrated into the design, as well, with a digital ClearSight Rear View Display being positioned at the same height as the side mirrors for enhanced focus. <- Gallery -> About the interior of the Type 01, Jaguar’s Chief Interior Designer, Thomas Holden, commented, “Our holistic design philosophy translates the vehicle’s exterior presence into a distinctive interior architecture. In contrast to the horizontal interior design norm, we emphasize its dramatic longitudinal nature through the central spine – an architectural statement that creates four individual spaces. With authentic materials, technology on demand and reductive flowing surfaces, Type 01 presents unmistakable drama and theatre that will define the modern luxury automotive interior of the future.” Combining futurism and Jaguar’s historic British elegance, the interior of the Type 01 features beautifully concealed compartments and tech elements that are hidden until they become useful. With formidable performance and sumptuous luxury, the Type 01 is bringing Jaguar’s timeless automotive luxury excellence into the future. View All Jaguar For Sale Image Source: JLR

Jaguar To Preview New Type 01 At Pebble Beach

Jaguar has spent the past few years undergoing a radical transformation, changing its logo and brand presence while unveiling the Type 00, a massive, monolithic concept of an all-electric grand touring model. That concept was a preview for the upcoming new production Jaguar, the all-electric Jaguar Type 01, which shares a similar futuristic aesthetic along with 1,000 horsepower and driving dynamics that combine cutting-edge technology with the principles that guided decades of Jaguars that came before it. That combination of heritage and futurism will characterize the brand’s presence at this year’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, which comes just before the Type 01 is fully unveiled this fall. There, Jaguar promises to bring an exclusive display of Jaguar’s past icons alongside a preview of the Type 01, also celebrating the noteworthy people who played a part in Jaguar’s long history. At the Concours, the Type 01’s exterior will remain camouflaged, while the interior will be revealed. Guests will get a chance to experience the interior and get a sense for the new Jaguar generation’s approach to luxury design. It’s the heart of Jaguar’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance exhibition, and surrounding it is a stunning collection of Jaguar’s historic GT and sports cars, all connected to noteworthy owners including racing icons, entertainment legends, and even royalty. <- Gallery -> Those vehicles, curated with the support of the Royal Household, the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust, and North American collections, include a 1955 Jaguar D‑type ‘XKD 507’ race car, which competed in Le Mans and won races for Briggs Cunningham’s team, a 1957 Jaguar XKSS whose notoriety comes from Steve McQueen, a 1967 Jaguar E‑type 4.2 OTS that was displayed aboard the RMS Queen Elizabeth, a 1978 Jaguar XJ‑S V12 Group 44 Inc. that won the 1978 Trans-Am racing season, and a 1987 Jaguar XJ‑S V12 Cabriolet, commissioned as a bespoke car for none other than Princess Diana. Showcasing incredible classics and the Jaguar of the future, Jaguar’s display at this year’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance is a celebration of the past as the iconic manufacturer is on the cusp of what’s next. Callum Designs Reveals Its Vision for a Modern Jaguar XJ220

It was only a few weeks ago that duPont REGISTRY named the Jaguar XJ220 among the hypercars collectors should be watching. Now the car is back in the conversation for an entirely different reason. Callum Designs, the studio founded by former Jaguar and Aston Martin design director Ian Callum, has released the first images of a reimagined XJ220, bringing the 1990s mid-engine exotic back into conversation. The digital render shows a low-slung coupe finished in silver, with a sweeping glasshouse, sharp surfacing, and sleek proportions that echo the original sans the exaggerated overhangs penned by Keith Helfet. A pronounced side air intake sits just ahead of the rear wheel, paired with solid disc-style wheels, modern LED DRLs upfront, and what appears to be an aggressive rear diffuser setup.   The original XJ220's signature pop-up headlights are notably absent from the side profile released so far, and how Callum's studio resolves the front-end treatment remains to be seen as more images follow.  No technical details have been released, and the project remains a proof of concept at this point. The original XJ220 concept was conceived around a V12 with all-wheel drive, but the production car that arrived in 1992 switched to a twin-turbocharged V6 and rear-wheel drive, briefly holding the title of the fastest production car in the world at 217 mph, until the McLaren F1 came along.  A V12 is a tall order in the modern context, but a reimagined XJ220 would be a deserving home for one and would finally satisfy those who longed for the V12 the original concept promised. Jaguar's own portfolio has no shortage of V12s that could make the fit,  Independents operate under far lighter regulatory pressure than the major automakers, which explains why firms like Touring Superleggera and Eccentrica have had no trouble keeping the V12 format relevant. We have covered Callum Designs' Vanquish 25 extensively, including behind-the-scenes coverage of its development with R-Reforged and its eventual production realization. The studio has also reimagined the V12 Vanquish as a widebody GT, also reworked the iconic Jaguar E-Type, and, notably, brought a road-going version of the Jaguar C-X75 to life, the concept that once represented the closest thing to an XJ220 successor before its planned production run was cancelled. The CX-75 gained additional notoriety with its screen role in the 2015 James Bond film, Spectre. Jaguar itself has committed to an electric-only future starting with the upcoming Type 01, leaving traditionalists searching for alternative routes to keep the brand's internal-combustion spirit alive. Callum's reimagined XJ220 offers exactly that, revisiting the cars that defined his tenure at the storied British brand. View All Jaguars For Sale Images: @callum_designs, Jaguar

Jaguar Type 01 Prototypes Drive Monaco Circuit

One of the most historic and celebrated racing stages on the planet, the Monaco Circuit is not only home to the annual Monaco Grand Prix, but also to historic races and the Monaco E-Prix, a race with all-electric vehicles on the annual Formula E calendar. One of the teams that took on the recent Monaco E-Prix was Jaguar TCS Racing, and while its race cars took on the track with competition in mind, Jaguar as a manufacturer is also on the cusp of an electric vehicle renaissance. Jaguar has spent the last few years transforming its brand, with a new logo, a new aesthetic, and the Type 00 concept car. That concept car has given way to a new upcoming all-electric Jaguar, the Type 01, which will be Jaguar’s first new production model in a considerable number of years. A four-door grand tourer, it will boast 1,000 horsepower and has already shown off impressive driving dynamics. However, since giving the upcoming model a name, Type 01, Jaguar has now showcased it at the Monaco Circuit. Camouflaged prototypes of the new electric luxury performance model lapped the circuit, showcasing technology that relates the new grand tourer to the Jaguar TCS Racing Formula E cars. With immense power, racing-derived technology, and decades of luxury automotive legacy, the new Jaguar Type 01 drummed up excitement for the brand’s full renaissance in Monaco. Jaguar’s 1,000 HP Electric GT Finally Has a Name: Meet the Type 01

Jaguar’s electric reinvention finally has an official name. After nearly two years of teasers, concept appearances, and engineering updates, the British marque earlier today confirmed that its upcoming four-door electric grand tourer will be called the Jaguar Type 01, marking the beginning of an entirely new generation for the company. The road leading here began in November 2024 with the dramatic unveiling of the Jaguar Type 00 Concept. That concept introduced Jaguar’s controversial “Copy Nothing” campaign, pairing oversized typography, minimalist surfaces, and a radically futuristic design language with one clear objective: completely resetting public perception surrounding the historic British luxury brand. Since then, Jaguar has aggressively placed the concept on a global stage. Throughout 2025, the Type 00 appeared at major automotive and luxury events spanning Miami, Monterey, Tokyo, Goodwood Festival of Speed, Paris, and Monaco. Jaguar even displayed the concept during its 90th anniversary celebrations last December, where it sat alongside a beautifully preserved 1935 SS Jaguar, visually linking the company’s earliest years with its intended future direction. We have reimagined Jaguar for a new era, with inspiration from what has gone before. Our engineers have achieved this with a vehicle that looks and drives like no other electric car, yet reflects a unique provenance. The Type 01 name is part of that story – for me, the zero also signifies a complete brand reset, and the '1', our first car for a new chapter, a 'one of a kind!' - Rawdon Glover, Managing Director, Jaguar. Jaguar says the Type 01 name itself carries layered meaning. “Type” references legendary predecessors, including the Jaguar C-Type, the Jaguar E-Type, and the Jaguar F-TYPE. The “0” represents zero tailpipe emissions, while the “1” identifies this car as the first model in Jaguar’s complete reset. The company has steadily teased development progress throughout 2026. In February, Jaguar released images showing prototypes undergoing winter testing in the Arctic Circle, confirming the upcoming GT.  Jaguar says the Type 01 will feature an entirely new architecture, tri-motor technology producing more than 1,000 metric horsepower, and over 958 pound-feet of torque. A month later, Jaguar doubled down on its performance, showcasing the electric GT prototype driving alongside icons like the E-Type, Jaguar XJ, and Jaguar XJS at the brand's testing facility in Gaydon, England, insisting the new model had been engineered to feel like a true Jaguar rather than simply another luxury EV. Now, Jaguar will bring the next phase directly to the streets of Monaco. Camouflaged Type 01 prototypes are scheduled to appear publicly during the Monaco E Prix weekend alongside the Jaguar TCS Racing operation. The full reveal arrives later this year, setting the tone for every future Jaguar model that follows. View All Jaguars Cars For Sale Images: Jaguar

Jaguar Showcases Special Formula E GEN4 proto_TYPE Livery

Jaguar TCS Racing is the team with the most wins in the history of the Formula E World Championship, with 25 wins and 33 more podiums, as well as a victory in the 2024 Teams’ World Championship and Manufacturers’ title, and the current season sees the team placing high in the Drivers, Manufacturers, and Teams standings. However, a new era is coming to the entire series, as GEN4 race cars will be taking to the grid for the 2026/2027 season. Jaguar’s GEN4 development car, called the GEN4 proto_TYPE, has officially been revealed, showcased in a special test livery as its first public outing approaches, which will take place in France at Circuit Paul Ricard from April 21 to 22. The livery showcases the decade-long legacy of Jaguar TCS Racing’s Formula E cars, with speed tracings around the legendary Monaco street circuit from Jaguar’s GEN1, GEN2, GEN3, and GEN4 cars. At Monaco, Jaguar’s GEN4 car is predicted to be able to exit the tunnel at a top speed of 172 mph, a dramatic increase from the 152 mph of the GEN3 car and the 123 mph from the GEN1 car in the simulator. That’s because of the GEN4 car’s significant increase in power compared to the GEN3, with 450 kW compared to the GEN3’s 300 kW. Rather than unleashing 350kW in Attack Mode, 600kW is available. <- Gallery -> Attack mode temporarily increases the power of the car for exciting overtaking moments with nail-biting strategic decision-making. However, while GEN3 cars only had all-wheel drive in Attack Mode or certain qualifying stages, GEN4 will see Formula E use the world’s first open-wheel race cars with all-wheel drive across all stages of qualifying and racing. That, along with 700kW regenerative braking and greater aerodynamic development, will ensure even more exciting racing. As Formula E’s GEN4 begins to take shape, the series and one of its most successful teams are getting ready to deliver much more exciting racing than in seasons before. How Jaguar’s New 1,000-HP EV “Drives Like A True Jaguar”

Over a year ago, Jaguar radically transformed itself as a brand, debuting a new logo, a new philosophy, and a new look and feel. Along with it came the Jaguar Type 00 concept, a powerful and opulent electric luxury grand tourer with minimalistic styling and proportions inspired by past Jaguar tourers. That concept is now serving as the inspiration for the first new Jaguar production model in a long time, a four-door electric grand tourer with 1,000 horsepower. Already, Jaguar has shown off the impressive performance capabilities of its new grand tourer during testing in the Arctic Circle, and as the reveal of the production version of the car later this year draws nearer, the manufacturer is showcasing more of its engineering excellence. Saying that the new model promises to drive “like a true Jaguar,” the new four-door GT features engineering characteristics inspired by past Jaguar icons, combining spirited performance with luxurious comfort. When development began for the new model, engineers started by driving some of the most iconic cars in Jaguar’s history, like the E-type, XJS, and XJ. About this, JLR’s Engineering Director, Matt Becker, said, “At the outset we took the unusual step of spending time behind the wheel of great models from our past – to get under the skin of what truly makes a Jaguar. At its best, Jaguar has always delivered two characters – performance and comfort – in perfect harmony and our new luxury GT is no different. It embodies everything the brand stands for. Jaguar’s founder, Sir William Lyons, used to say that 'driving should be a joy not a chore'.” <- Gallery -> The “Spirit of Jaguar Drive,” which took place in May 2023, consisted of the XK120, the E-type, XJ Coupé V12, XJS and XJ Series I. Each car not only offered insight into the Jaguar DNA that needed to be imbued into the new car, but also showcased the through lines of design that are shared between them, like the low roofline and long hood that the new model showcases. The XK120 taught the lesson of demonstrating superior performance while treating drivers to sumptuous interior treatment. The E-type, one of the most legendary grand tourers of all time, reminded engineers of Jaguar’s reputation of combining performance, luxury, and unforgettable design. The XJS was exemplary for its ability to comfort and excite during long-distance drives, and the XJ Series I epitomizes Jaguar’s combination of power and elegance. Jaguar’s new model is said to combine all of these characteristics with cutting-edge technology and EV engineering, with over 1,000 horsepower and 959 lb/ft of torque on tap. That power is harnessed with solutions like highly advanced software for lightning-fast responses, and dynamic air suspension with twin-valve dampers for a compromise-free combination of compelling performance and relaxing comfort. “Right from the start, our aim was to deliver a true Jaguar. To do that, we wanted to re‑examine the provenance of the brand and the best way to achieve this was to drive some of our greatest models from the past 90 years. It provided clear direction to help us create the most technically advanced Jaguar ever made,” says Rawdon Glover, Jaguar’s Managing Director. Set to be fully revealed this September, the new four-door GT from Jaguar promises to drive like no other electric car, embodying the duality of luxury and performance that has made Jaguar one of the most celebrated manufacturers throughout much of automotive history.
