When he’s not scoring goals on the pitch or meeting fans around the world, Lionel Messi likes to spend his downtime with family. Sometimes, that means getting away from the fame on the open water aboard a luxury yacht. Now, the soccer superstar is making that his priority, joining the Sunreef Yachts family with an order for a brand-new ULTIMA 88. The yacht will become part of his MIM Ocean fleet, based in Spain's Balearic Islands, giving guests a taste of the Mediterranean lifestyle. The Sunreef ULTIMA 88 has plenty of room to enjoy an excursion, with four guest cabins and a full-beam master suite that feel like a home away from home. Outside, there's space to spread out across multiple lounging areas and a spacious flybridge, whether the plan is catching some sun, enjoying a meal with friends, or taking in the ocean views. Sunreef's signature Ocean Lounge is another notable area on the vessel, bringing guests closer to the water for swimming and watersports. There's also a dedicated jet ski garage. The ULTIMA 88’s sleek and modern design comes with twin 1,000-horsepower engines, giving it the power and maneuverability to keep up with an island hopping itinerary. It's a setup that makes sense for exploring the Balearic Islands, where quiet coves, scenic coastlines, and waterfront destinations are all part of the journey. For Messi, the decision to join the Sunreef family comes down to something pretty simple: spending more time on the water with the people closest to him. He's shared that his family has always loved getting out on the water, and the ULTIMA 88 gives them a new place to do just that.
