The late Ayrton Senna was a legendary racing driver hailing from Brazil, and his close relationship with McLaren called the British specialist of lightweight on-track performance to create a car named after him, the rare, incredible, and track-ready McLaren Senna. In addition, McLaren also honored Senna’s racing legacy by making a further-distilled track-only version: the Senna GTR.
The car is one of the greatest examples of McLaren’s ability to create race cars, and McLaren Houston recently showed off a very specific example of the Senna GTR that pays homage to its namesake in one of the greatest ways possible. Featuring a livery inspired by the Brazilian flag, the car is finished in a two-tone color scheme with yellow at the front and green at the back. The Brazil livery came from McLaren Special Operations, specializing in creating unique and bespoke McLaren cars with unique liveries and interior specifications. This Brazil livery McLaren Senna GTR is an example of McLaren at its best, with an homage to Ayrton Senna’s racing legacy and Brazilian heritage, McLaren’s engineering prowess, and MSO’s bespoke capabilities.
