Formula 1 has never been as transparent as it is today, giving fans a look not only inside the paddock, but inside the cockpit and closer to the personalities behind the wheel. Along with following today’s star-studded grid, that access has also opened the door to a deeper appreciation for the drivers who paved the way, competing in an era when speed seemed limitless and safety was often a second thought. Names like James Hunt still echo through the pits of circuits around the world, remembered not only for their success, but for their competitive nature and confidence to push a Formula 1 car to its limits at 200+ mph.
That legacy is now getting its own style through the PUMA x McLaren Racing James Hunt Without Limits collection. Unveiled during London Fashion Week as part of McLaren’s Designed to Race campaign, the collection takes inspiration from the 1970s Formula 1 paddock. Racing jackets, hoodies, graphic tees and classic hats make up a lineup that combines McLaren Racing heritage with the looks that Hunt was known for. His 1976 Formula 1 World Championship remains the centerpiece of his racing resume, but his unmistakable personal style has proven just as long-lasting.
The collection was previewed at McLaren’s Technology Centre, which was transformed into a runway for Designed to Race: Front Row ahead of London Fashion Week. For PUMA and McLaren, it was the perfect setting to introduce a collection built around one of Formula 1’s most recognizable drivers and a period when racing culture extended well beyond the start/finish line. The PUMA x McLaren Racing James Hunt Collection officially launches October 19th at select PUMA stores, PUMA’s website, and the McLaren Store, giving a new generation of Formula 1 fans a chance to bring a little of Hunt’s style into their own closets.
