The New 2027 Mercedes-AMG GLC 53 Has Higher Revs & Improved Dynamics

By Tyler Rampersaud –  February 10, 2026

New 2027 Mercedes-AMG GLC 53 Unveiled

AMG has become one of the most ubiquitous names in the automotive industry, with a lineup that was instrumental in demonstrating today’s landscape of cars that combine luxury and performance aspects. One of its most popular models is the Mercedes-AMG GLC, which is already based on a bestselling small luxury SUV model, and the GLC 53 dials up its performance factor for an engaging, thrilling driving experience. For the 2027 model year, Mercedes-AMG has given the staple GLC 53 a significant update, revising its performance character, adding new driver-focused features, and improving its dynamics. The engine, a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder unit with twin-charging, thanks to an exhaust gas turbocharger and an electric auxiliary compressor, brandishes 443 horsepower and 443 lb/ft of torque. That torque figure increases to 472 lb/ft for 10 seconds with overboost, and overall, the engine has been redeveloped to have a more agile response and high-revving character. Other upgrades include a new cylinder head, improved intake and exhaust ports, a new intake camshaft, a new intake system, a new intercooler, and more. <- Gallery -> The new 2027 Mercedes-AMG GLC 53 can get from 0-60 in just 4.1 seconds, with an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph, or 167 mph with the AMG DYNAMIC PLUS Package. That same package adds a Drift Mode to the 4MATIC+ fully variable all-wheel drive system, allowing the vehicle to operate exclusively in rear-wheel drive. Standard rear-axle steering improves the driving dynamics of the luxury performance SUV, offering agile maneuvers at low speeds and stable directional changes at higher speeds. For the 2027 model year, the new Mercedes-AMG GLC 53 will be offered with a Golden Accents Package, in which Obsidian Black Metallic or Graphite Grey Magno exterior colors are contrasted with gold accents, including on the wheels. Design elements throughout further enhance the unique package, and the model is available with both SUV and coupe body styles, and it’s arriving at United States Mercedes-Benz dealerships in the second half of 2026. 2027 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Breaks Cover as the Brand’s Most Advanced Flagship Yet

By Khris Bharath –  January 30, 2026

2027 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Breaks Cover as the Brand’s Most Advanced Flagship Yet

If there’s one sedan that defines luxury, technology, and quiet authority, it has to be the Mercedes-Benz S-Class. For generations, it has been the gold standard for flagship full-size luxury sedans, and a benchmark trusted by celebrities, CEOs, dignitaries, and heads of state, not just for its discretion but also its engineering depth. Technologies that debut here rarely stay exclusive for long and eventually find their way through the rest of the Mercedes lineup, shaping everything from mid-size sedans to SUVs for years and more.  With the 2027 model, that pattern continues. We first got early hints of this transformation only weeks ago in our exclusive first-ride preview of the pre-production prototype. Now, the final production version of the eighth-generation S-Class, internal code W224, has officially broken cover. Mercedes says more than 50 percent of the car has been newly developed or revised, making this the most comprehensive update in the model’s history. Visually, there is no shortage of three-pointed star motifs on the all-new S Class, now integrated throughout the car’s design language. You see them embedded as studs within the imposing, 20 percent larger illuminated grille, also seen in the daytime running lights, and repeated again in the newly designed tail lamps. For the first time in production, the standing star on the hood can also illuminate in select markets, reinforcing the S-Class identity after dark. For further personalisation, MANUFAKTUR Made to Measure will offer over 150 exterior colors and more than 400 interior colors. Next-generation DIGITAL LIGHT headlamps use micro-LED technology to expand the high-resolution illumination field by roughly 40 percent. The ULTRA RANGE high beam reaches close to 2,000 feet and adapts dynamically using map data, while new projection functions add real-world utility, including construction zone narrowing and cold-weather warnings projected directly onto the road surface.  Inside, the S-Class fully embraces a software-defined future. Mercedes first outlined its MB.OS in March last year, and the S-Class became one of the first production flagships to realize it fully. MB.OS serves as the car’s digital backbone, unifying infotainment, driver assistance, lighting, and suspension systems through a centralized supercomputer. Over-the-air updates will ensure the vehicle continues to evolve long after delivery. Fourth-generation MBUX introduces the standard Superscreen layout and a generative AI virtual assistant capable of natural, multi-step conversation. Navigation based on Google Maps integrates augmented reality guidance directly into your field of view, reducing distraction in complex traffic environments. Rear-seat occupants remain central to the S-Class experience with dual 13.1-inch displays, detachable remote controls, integrated cameras, folding tables, and reclining executive seats that turn the rear cabin into a mobile office or private retreat. Video conferencing via Microsoft Teams or Zoom works seamlessly, reflecting how CEOs and senior leaders increasingly use travel time.  Comfort and safety, though, extend beyond screens, with Heated seat belts, Digital Vent Control with personalized airflow profiles, and a new electric cabin air filter capable of refreshing cabin air roughly every 90 seconds, elevating day-to-day usability. Safety systems expand to include Pre-Safe  Impulse functions, rear beltbags, rear airbags, and the availability of up to 15 airbags.  The S-Class continues to set the standards in technology and safety. These highlights underscore our continued commitment to building the world’s most desirable cars. - Ola Kaellenius, CEO, Mercedes-Benz Mechanically, the S-Class maintains a diverse range of powertrains, from an all-new V8 and updated inline-six engines, plug-in hybrid variants, upgraded diesels, and a V12 Guard model, further reinforcing Mercedes-Benz’s continued commitment to internal combustion alongside electrification. Standard AIRMATIC suspension will now use cloud-based road data to prepare damping in advance, a patent-pending system that enhances comfort before you reach surface imperfections. Pricing hasn’t been announced, but expect deliveries to commence in the second half of 2026. The latest 2027 S-Class reasserts itself as the reference point for luxury and technology for top-tier sedans, and in theory, it also lays the groundwork for the next flagship Mercedes-Maybach. <- Gallery -> View All Mercedes-Benz S-Class For Sale Images: Mercedes-Benz

Mercedes-AMG Tests A New CLE-Based Mythos Car In Sweden

By Tyler Rampersaud –  January 27, 2026

Mercedes-AMG Tests New Mythos Car

Years ago, Mercedes-Benz laid out the plans for the future of its business, and one of those announcements captured a notable amount of intrigue, and that was the introduction of a new series of cars entitled “Mythos.” It took a few years for that series to come to fruition, and it was well worth the wait, as the first car to be a part of the Mythos series was the Mercedes-AMG PureSpeed, a stunning roofless barchetta that nods to Mercedes-AMG’s racing legacy and uses limited production numbers for collector panache. Now, the second Mythos model is on the horizon, as Mercedes-Benz is showing it off as a camouflaged prototype in testing. That testing is taking place in the throes of Scandinavian winter, and specifically in Sweden, near the Arctic Circle. The extreme location and conditions will ensure the vehicle’s ability to perform in even the most demanding climates, remaining a shining icon of luxury, performance, and exclusivity. The new Mythos car is clearly based on the Mercedes-Benz CLE, and Mercedes-Benz says that it takes the model much further in terms of performance, and being a unique vehicle on the road. A massive fixed wing can be seen on the prototype, suggesting a vehicle whose power demands serious downforce. As testing continues, anticipation builds for a new member of the elusive Mythos series, and yet another collector-grade Mercedes-AMG masterpiece. Rétromobile 2026 to Spotlight Mercedes-Benz Classic’s 1000 Miglia Program

By Khris Bharath –  January 26, 2026

Rétromobile 2026 to Spotlight Mercedes-Benz Classic’s 1000 Miglia Program

The 50th edition of Salon Rétromobile Paris is set to open in a few days, and Mercedes-Benz Classic will focus on the 1000 Miglia. When doors open on January 28, the three-pointed star will present three 1950s Mercedes-Benz classics, each offered with a guaranteed place on the 1000 Miglia 2026 start line in Italy this June. The cars available for purchase: a 1955 300 SL Gullwing (W 198), a 1955 220 Ponton (W 180), and a 1956 190 SL (W 121). The rally only accepts models that competed in the original 1927 to 1957 race. Mercedes-Benz Classic is also offering factory-backed support packages, positioning you to participate as part of the works presence. A 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR (W 196 S), from the factory collection, recalls the brand’s defining Mille Miglia year. We got an up-close look at the 300 SLR on the opening day of the 1000 Miglia Experience UAE last year. It was also followed by our exclusive coverage of the rally on our sister site, Petrolicious. Stirling Moss and Denis Jenkinson won outright in 1955 with a record time. Mercedes-Benz followed with a one-two overall finish, triple class wins with the 300 SL Gullwing, and three diesel class victories with the 180 D.  Alongside the cars, Mercedes-Benz Classic and Roarington are presenting the “417 Legacy Edition” driving simulator. Limited to seven units, it digitally recreates the class-winning 1955 300 SL that carried start number 417, using period data combined with modern simulation hardware. Another offering targets restoration-focused collectors. A barn find 1960 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL discovered in Pennsylvania will make an appearance. First registered in 1961, it retains matching numbers and original patina. Mercedes-Benz Classic Center specialists have identified it as a suitable candidate for a factory-correct restoration. Rétromobile 2026 will also mark the launch of the Mercedes-Benz Classic Partner network in France. SAGA Classic locations in La Roche-sur-Yon, Les Ulis, and Lille join an international network that now includes 80 partners across 17 countries. <- Gallery -> “At the start of our anniversary year marking 140 years of innovation, Mercedes-Benz Heritage GmbH demonstrates how it is preserving the brand’s heritage in the long term while consistently developing its range of services further,” - Marcus Breitschwerdt, Executive Vice President of Mercedes-Benz AG and CEO of Mercedes-Benz Heritage GmbH. Looking ahead, this momentum extends beyond Paris. duPont REGISTRY will play host to the inaugural U.S. edition of Rétromobile later this November, bringing the event’s format and focus on historically significant cars to a new audience in North America. Exclusive: Mercedes-Benz Places and Binghatti Reveal a Masterplanned Community in Dubai

Exclusive: Mercedes-Benz Places and Binghatti Reveal a Masterplanned Community in Dubai

Just over a month ago, we touched on Dubai-based Binghatti announcing Mercedes-Benz Places by Binghatti in a historic signing that took place in Stuttgart. At the latest black-tie unveiling, Binghatti, a developer who is rapidly transforming the skyline of the desert metropolis, has raised the stakes again, presenting the world’s first Mercedes-Benz-branded city. More than 10,000,000 square feet in the heart of the strategically located Meydan district of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (U.A.E.). This is the second Mercedes-Benz residential project in Dubai with Binghatti, but it is the first time the brand applies its design philosophy at a true urban scale.13,386 residences across 12 towers, anchored by the central Vision Iconic structure inspired by the Vision Iconic concept car first shown in October last year.  Studios account for 6,321 units. One-bedroom residences total 4,963. Two-bedroom layouts number 1,653. Three-bedroom homes come in at 431 units. At the top end, there are just nine four-bedroom residences and a limited run of five-bedroom homes. I attended the star-studded unveiling at the Meydan Hotel, and the scale was unmistakable. Just outside, Gargash Motors had a curated lineup of Mercedes-Benz and AMG models. Inside, there was abstract art and themed Historic grille features that traced the three-pointed star from the Ponton era through the 1980s. A red-on-black open-top Mercedes-Benz PureSpeed roadster, also spotted earlier this season at the 1000 Miglia Experience opening day, drew big crowds.  Hollywood star Terry Crews hosted the evening. Muhammad Binghatti, Shehab Gargash, and Mathias Geisen took the covers off the aforementioned Vision iconic concept on stage, followed by a spectacular drone show that lit up the night sky, unveiling the towers. The entire masterplan is shaped by Mercedes-Benz’s Sensual Purity language, translating brand DNA into architecture. Sequential tower placement conveys motion and precision. Horizontal podium lines echo the iconic grille.  <- Gallery -> “With Mercedes-Benz Places, we transfer the unique DNA of our brand into holistic, customer-centric, and connected living spaces. This project sets a new benchmark for exclusive, integrated urban living. We are celebrating 140 years of company history this year. Mercedes-Benz Places | Binghatti City marks the first time we apply it at true urban scale, an entire living environment, a city within a city, that bears our unmistakable identity.” - Axel Harries, Head of Global Service and Parts at Mercedes-Benz.  Each of the 12 towers carries the name of a Mercedes-Benz concept car, linking heritage and future vision directly to the built environment. Vision One-Eleven, Vision Mercedes Simplex, Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6, and Vision AVTR. Inside the residences, restraint remains the theme. Interiors rely on a black and silver base palette, layered with leather and wood to keep spaces warm and livable. Brand cues appear through both materials and detailing. The masterplan centers on a landscaped Grand Promenade that links key zones and amenities, using green corridors and elevated walkways to connect buildings with the surrounding park. Lifestyle facilities focus on wellness, recreation, and community, including multiple pools and water play areas, extensive fitness and training spaces, and 12 specialized sports clubs. Social infrastructure ranges from event and entertainment venues to concierge-led services, while EV charging and connected mobility are fully integrated into the development. “Our collaboration with Mercedes-Benz continues to evolve beyond individual buildings into a fully integrated masterplan community. Mercedes-Benz Places | Binghatti City represents our shared ambition to redefine how branded living is experienced at scale, where design, innovation, and community come together to shape the future of urban life in Dubai.” - Muhammad Binghatti - Chairman, Binghatti Holding. Dubai’s wider context explains why this keeps happening here. The city now ranks second only to Miami for branded residential projects in development. Automotive brands are leading the charge. Bugatti is already under construction, and this announcement also lands just weeks after Binghatti closed the most expensive penthouse sale in the Middle East on record at AED 550 million ($150 million) at its Bugatti-branded project in Business Bay, an event marked publicly by Muhammad Binghatti and Bugatti CEO Mate Rimac. The evening closed with a live performance by Andrea Bocelli, which underscored the positioning. This was not about units. It was about signaling where ultra-luxury developments are the region is heading next. View All Mercedes-Benz Cars For Sale  Images: Khris Bharath, Mercedes-Benz

Gorden Wagener To Step Down As Mercedes-Benz Chief Design...

Mercedes-Benz and Gorden Wagener end an era. In 1997, Gorden Wagener joined Mercedes-Benz, becoming the industry’s youngest design chief at the age of 39 with the manufacturer, and immediately becoming responsible for some of the greatest design icons in recent automotive history, like the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren. Later on in his career, he took on a newly created Chief Design Officer role and helped shape the future of Mercedes-Benz along with the other brands within the manufacturer’s umbrella: Mercedes-AMG, Mercedes-Maybach, the G-Class lineup, and smart. Establishing the iconic ‘Sensual Purity’ design philosophy at Mercedes-Benz, Gorden Wagener and Mercedes-Benz have officially announced that he is leaving the company on January 31, 2026, at his own request and through a mutual agreement. His other iconic work includes the creation of the Mercedes-AMG GT, reimagining the SL, the W/V222 S-Class, and the 176-series A-Class. As his cherished tenure of nearly 30 years at Mercedes-Benz comes to an end, the historic brand is on the cusp of yet another exciting new chapter, with the new CLA showcasing groundbreaking technology, the all-new electric GLC launching, and new concepts and exclusive vehicles showcasing the pinnacle of Mercedes-Benz design excellence. While his time as the Chief Design Officer of Mercedes-Benz has ended, the legacy and influence of Gorden Wagener will live on at Mercedes-Benz for years into the future, through the vehicles that wear the Mercedes-Benz star and the team brought up under his leadership.

Mercedes-Benz Reveals New Hybrid CLA 220

Mercedes-Benz’s new high-tech compact goes hybrid. Recently, Mercedes-Benz unveiled a new generation of its CLA compact four-door coupe. Initially unveiled as an all-electric model, the CLA was the cradle for a new generation of technology for the historic luxury manufacturer, with the MB.OS being introduced in the car, along with it featuring the fourth generation of MBUX, and AI solutions from tech titans like Microsoft and Google. When the all-electric Mercedes-Benz CLA was first introduced, Mercedes-Benz announced that it would be followed up with a hybrid variant, which has now been introduced. The new hybrid powertrain combines a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine and an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission with a 48-volt lithium-ion battery that has 1.3 kWh of capacity to power the electric motor. Electric-only driving is available at speeds of up to 60 mph, with a total system output of 208 horsepower and 280 lb/ft of torque. Just like the electric Mercedes-Benz CLA, the new hybrid CLA features some of the most advanced technology Mercedes-Benz is capable of providing yet, with much of the luxury of higher-class Mercedes-Benz models packaged in a compact model. Features like the fixed panoramic glass roof, the MBUX Superscreen, and more give the CLA true Mercedes-Benz luxury while being a small hybrid. To distinguish the hybrid from the all-electric model, the CLA hybrid features a specific grille, with a standard illuminated surround, featuring the Mercedes‑Benz star pattern in chrome. Otherwise, the futuristic styling of the new CLA hybrid is nearly visually identical to its all-electric counterpart. As Mercedes-Benz evolves its technology, both all-electric and hybrid models are part of its cutting-edge offerings, as seen with the new hybrid Mercedes-Benz CLA 220.
