Mercedes-AMG Unveils The New 2027 GLE 63 S & The New GLS 63

By Tyler Rampersaud –  June 15, 2026

New 2027 Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S & GLS 63 Revealed

AMG has become synonymous with a signature combination of automotive luxury and performance, and some of the most popular creations from the performance arm of Mercedes-Benz are SUVs. The Mercedes-AMG SUV lineup consists of several models, ranging from compact, nimble vehicles to larger, V8-powered icons, and two popular Mercedes-AMG nameplates have returned, with a revised powertrain and several other tweaks throughout. Those are the Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S and the Mercedes-AMG GLS 63. Updated for the 2027 model year, the iconic GLE and the large, sumptuous GLS have both been given the latest iterations of an AMG makeover, with a revised powertrain under the hood. The 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 that lies at the heart of both models is the M177 EVO, which features a new flat-plane crankshaft, reducing rotating mass, allowing the engine to rev more easily, ensuring precise response, and laying the groundwork for a new generation of V8 engines that improves both power and efficiency. In both vehicles, the engine musters 603 horsepower and 627 lb/ft of torque, and it also uses mild hybrid technology to provide an assisting 23 horsepower and 151 lb/ft of torque, contributing to the engine’s total power and torque numbers. With that power, the GLE 63 S is able to get from 0-60 in 3.6 seconds, while the GLS 63 manages to make it from 0-60 in 3.9 seconds. Both vehicles have an electronically limited top speed of 174 mph. While your foot is on the pedal, the sound experience of the engine is enhanced and adaptable thanks to an AMG Performance exhaust system with configurable valves. <- Gallery -> The front ends of both vehicles have been redesigned to evolve their aggressive, performance-oriented design, and other design tweaks include a unique selection of 22 and 23-inch wheels,  and Nappa leather interiors including in unique colors like MANUFAKTUR Yacht Blue. MANUFAKTUR also offers various striking paint color options for the latest AMG models, which can be paired with the AMG Night Package for added flair in the exterior design. Also contributing to the performance of the latest Mercedes-AMG SUVs is AMG RIDE CONTROL+ air suspension, which comes as standard and adjusts ride height for off-road driving, as well as for performance at higher speeds, and it teams up with active roll stabilization to inspire confidence and ensure precise handling. A locking rear differential works to improve the agility, turning two celebrated SUV models into supercar-like performers, and with AMG DYNAMIC SELECT, available with the push of a button, drivers can access several programs that adapt the car to a wide variety of situations. Modes include Comfort, Sport, Sport+, Trail, Slippery, and an Individual mode that can be customized by the driver. With an updated approach to its design, a revised V8 engine, and personalization-focused luxury, the new Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S and GLS 63 are two new performance luxury SUV icons with cherished nameplates. First Look: Inside Mercedes-AMG’s Glitzy LA Reveal of New Electric GT

By Michael Van Runkle –  May 20, 2026

First Look: Inside Mercedes-AMG’s Glitzy LA Reveal of New Electric GT

Mercedes-Benz and AMG shut down the entire Sixth Street Bridge in Los Angeles last night to unveil its new GT 4-Door Coupe. A massive party chock-full of A-list celebs (including Brad Pitt, Jacob Elordi, Kevin Hart, Diplo) and Formula 1 personalities (including George Russell), plus a rock performance by Blink 182, gathered to witness a major step forward into the electric era, as Mercedes-AMG abandons the V8 engine in favor of a fully electric powertrain. The new GT puts down huge power figures in order to compete with Tesla’s Plaid, the Lucid Air Sapphire, Porsche Taycan Turbo GT, and Audi RS e-tron GT. And a new design language reveals just how much of a transformational moment this car represents for Mercedes. In person, the styling is not quite recognizable as such, however. Hence all the badging and tri-star light signatures that clearly hark to the brand heritage. Essentially a production version of the record-breaking Concept AMG GT XX, which set multiple speed and distance marks on the way to driving 24,901 miles in 7 days and 13 hours, the final production form looks smoother and less bloated than previous EVs from Mercedes over the past few years. It’s certainly a far cry from the svelte exterior of the internal-combustion SL and GT two doors, though, arguably a pair of the most stunning automotive designs of the past decade-plus. The large intake scoop up front gives way to headlights that rake sharply back toward the low windshield and flowing roofline. Unlike the concept car, this production version gets a true rear window before the hindquarters chop off in what’s known as a “kammtail” in automotive parlance. That nearly vertical rear panel seems counterintuitive, but actually works well for aerodynamic efficiency that EVs require to achieve efficient range estimates. A closer look at the details can reveal sharper edges than expected between all the smooth body panels. And the side skirts pinch inward a fair amount more than photographs tend to portray. The whole car rides lower and longer than expected, too, which exudes more of a performance aesthetic – especially when compared to the upright EQS sedan and even the outgoing internal-combustion GT. The new EV rides on a skateboard battery platform, with a central spine that holds larger electric powertrain components and allows for improved interior ergonomics. The cockpit leans into tech in a big way, given the all-electric propulsion. Expect all the screens, as typical of Mercedes lately, plus all the individually tailored drive modes. The glass roof – no solid roof will come to the USA – can switch from opaque to transparent at the touch of a button, while also transforming into a twinkling light display at nighttime. Even if the event itself turned into a Hollywood soiree as much as an automotive debut, Mercedes still shared tons of details to nerd out on. This first true AMG electric explains why Mercedes acquired the British firm YASA in 2021, to source axial-flux motors that promise better packaging, serious weight savings, and more power than the typical radial-flux motors (the main difference being which way the power circles the output shaft). Every GT will employ three axial-flux motors, but in a carryover from the V8 days, AMG will produce at least two versions to start: a 55 and a 63. The GT 55 receives ratings of 805 horsepower and 1,328 lb-ft of torque, while the 63 steps up to 1,153 hp and 1,328 lb-ft. Thanks to all-wheel traction created by mounting dual motors at the rear with one at the front, the 63 should manage a 0-60 time of 2.0 seconds and a 0-124 time of 6.4 seconds, all on the way to an electronically limited top speed of 186 miles per hour (when equipped with the optional AMG Performance Package). Of course, range matters just as much as gobstopping acceleration stats for any EV, and the GT’s F1-derived batteries should also keep up with the competition quite easily. The EPA has not yet rated either variant, but on the WLTP protocol, the GT 63 managed 474 miles while the 55 added a handful more. That should translate to about 10 or 20% less in the more stringent EPA figures, but still likely above 400 miles or so for both models. Active aerodynamics up front, underneath, and at the tail help with the range figures, and Mercedes also promises borderline unbelievable charge times. Topping up from 10-80% takes as little as 11 minutes, while a quick five-minute charge can add up to 168 miles of range. That is, however, provided that any charging station in the United States can actually max out the GT’s 600-kW charge capability—unlikely, given that Mercedes decided to commit to NACS port only, for easier access to the Tesla Supercharger network. In order to split the gap between track star and grand tourer, for an EV that weighs just over 5,400 pounds, Mercedes employs active air suspension on both the 55 and 63 variants. The 63 also comes standard with a hydraulic roll control system – which might work great in lightweight McLarens but often poses challenges for larger, heavier vehicles. In fairness, past hybrid “AMG E-Performance” models managed to mask enormous masses relatively well, and the GT should if anything allow for optimized weight distribution thanks to the skateboard battery layout and YASA electric motors. Whether this means that AMG will fully abandon either internal-combustion or hybrid GT variants in the future, Mercedes declined to comment. Other than to reveal that a Euro 7 emissions-compliant inline-six and V8 are already under development, which perhaps suggests that the success of this fully electric variant may affect future plans. The new powertrain does feature fake engine noises and gearshifts, in similar fashion as the Hyundai Ioniq 5N. As befitting a luxury EV, those noises can turn off to emphasize the serenity that Mercedes has long been so well-known for. By now, there’s no doubt remaining that electric power works well for luxury vehicles, but AMG aims to prove that a big, heavy EV from a legacy automaker can vault up into the ranks of serious performance cars, as well.

Mercedes-Benz Classic at FuoriConcorso 2026: Pre-War Legends to Modern Hypercars

By Khris Bharath –  May 20, 2026

Mercedes-Benz Classic at FuoriConcorso 2026: Pre-War Legends to Modern Hypercars on Lake Como

2026 is a significant year for Mercedes-Benz as it celebrates 140 years, and the three-pointed star continues to mark this milestone by showcasing some of its most spectacular race cars and road cars at some of the most prestigious events around the world. Back in late February, we saw a diverse lineup of motor cars at Moda Miami at the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables.  Now, in this latest showcase this past weekend (May 16-17), Mercedes-Benz brought 12 significant motorcars to the Villa del Grumello on the shores of Lake Como for FuoriConcorso 2026. We covered the event last year when a rare CLK GTR had to be craned onto the grounds. This year, the crane was back, as seen getting a 190 E EVO DTM racer being hoisted into position to settle next to the new HWA EVO, a 520-horsepower W 201-based continuation car limited to 100 units, and a 190E 2.5-16 Evolution II Saloon from 1990. Beyond the 190 E, you had cars spanning everything from pre-war vintage beauties like a replica 1886 Benz Patent-Motorwagen (the world's first car) to modern exotics and hypercars like a gold-finished 2022 Mercedes-AMG ONE, essentially highlighting 140 years of innovation. The AMG ONE continues to surface at the most prestigious events on the motoring calendar as deliveries roll out.  Powered by a Formula 1-derived hybrid system producing over 1,000 horsepower, the car currently carries a market value of $3.3 million on the duPont REGISTRY Index, above the original MSRP range of $2.7 million to $3.2 million. Lewis Hamilton, Nico Rosberg, and George Russell are among confirmed owners. Russell took delivery of his dark blue example in Monaco last year. <- Gallery -> “FuoriConcorso has shown what Mercedes-Benz has epitomised for 140 years: Pioneering spirit, innovation, and craftsmanship at the highest level. Motorsport has always set the pace by pushing courage, speed, and technology to the limit. Carl Benz invented the automobile – and thus made individual mobility possible. Many subsequent innovations originate from motor racing. The audience’s reactions encourage us to tell this story vividly.” - Marcus Breitschwerdt, CEO of Mercedes-Benz Heritage GmbH Other Highlights included a 1906 120 PS six-cylinder racer, the inter-war 1928 SSK, better known as the White Elephant for its supercharger howl, the W 125 Silver Arrow, the 300 SLR that Stirling Moss drove to victory at the 1955 Mille Miglia, a 1981 500 SL Rallye built for that season's rally program, and the SLR McLaren 722 GT. The 300 SLR is impossible to ignore in any setting. We ran into it at the 1000 Miglia Experience UAE last December. Its sibling in the lineup, the W 194 racer, is what the 300 SL Gullwing was drawn from, and here’s how it became a Blue Chip Benz. A modern-day SLR McLaren 722 GT shown at Como is a more extreme track-only variant. The road-going SLR McLaren, still the most undervalued, misunderstood exotic from the 2000s, especially when you look at where values of some of its contemporaries like the Carrera GT and Murcielago sit today. Two examples recently crossed the block on the duPont REGISTRY Live: a 2006 coupe at $271,525 (dRi: $305,500) and a 2008 Roadster at $457,800. (dRi:$378,058 ). FuoriConcorso has been on the calendar since 2019, and based on what Mercedes-Benz has brought to Como two years running, it has earned its place as one of the more serious stops on the classic car circuit.   View All Mercedes-Benz For Sale  Images: Mercedes-Benz

2027 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Electric Breaks Cover With 473-Mile Range

By Khris Bharath –  April 20, 2026

2027 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Electric Breaks Cover With 473-Mile Range

Mercedes-Benz has just unveiled the 2027 electric C-Class, marking a decisive step in bringing its next-generation EV technology into one of its most established nameplates. After previewing the interior last Thursday, the full vehicle made its global debut today in Seoul, South Korea, led by CEO Ola Källenius. Positioned in the compact D-segment sedan category, the electric C-Class brings innovations first seen in flagship models like the Mercedes-Benz EQS and entry-level models like the compact CLA, into one of the core models in the brand’s lineup. Mercedes-Benz now signals a more measured, integrated approach, embedding electric variants directly into its core lineup after phasing out the EQ naming structure in 2024. One of the highlights of this all-new C-Class is the design, as the German brand moves away from the ultra-streamlined styling of earlier EQ models and instead adopts a more traditional silhouette. Nowhere is that more apparent than on the front fascia, which features a more upright grille that recalls the Ponton-era cars of the ‘50s, backlit with over 1,000 illuminated elements and a central three-pointed star. The headlight signature integrates the brand’s three-pointed motif, drawing from the Mercedes-Benz Vision Iconic Concept we saw in October last year and more recently during the Mercedes-Benz Places | Binghatti City unveiling earlier this year in Dubai.  This grille first appeared in production on the Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric and more recently on the Mercedes-Benz VLE. Aerodynamics remain a priority, with a drag coefficient starting at 0.22, supported by a nearly sealed underbody, optimized wheels ranging from 18 to 20 inches, and refined airflow management across the body. <- Gallery -> Inside, you are greeted with a lounge-like setup, a space Mercedes is calling ‘Welcome Home,’ your sanctuary on wheels. The cabin centers around the MBUX Hyperscreen, a 39.1-inch unit that spans the dashboard as a single uninterrupted panel. Unlike earlier layouts, it eliminates visible segmentation, and the system runs on MB.OS, integrating MB Drive AI and a voice assistant capable of multi-step interaction with Microsoft Bing, ChatGPT4o, and Google Gemini. Mercedes-Benz also offers the MBUX Superscreen as an alternative.  Other interior highlights include a Sky Control panoramic roof that features 162 illuminated stars, and seats offer lumbar support, massage, and ventilation. A certified vegan interior is available. As for space, with a wheelbase that is 3.8 inches longer compared to combustion models, there’s more in the cabin in both rows. Practicality remains a focus, with 470 liters of trunk capacity (16.6 cubic feet) and over 100 liters (3.5 cubic feet) of additional storage in the front compartment. Performance and usability figures position the electric C-Class competitively within its segment. Mercedes-Benz targets a range of up to 800 kilometers (497 miles), supported by an 800-volt architecture that can add 325 kilometers (202 miles) of range in just 10 minutes. At launch, a 360 kW variant will lead the lineup. For some context on the range, the Tesla Model 3 offers up to 363 miles of range. Mercedes is also claiming that this is the sportiest C-Class to date, offering unmatched agility and long-distance comfort thanks to air-matic suspension and rear-axle steering. The C400 4Matic Electric with dual electric motors packs 482 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque. For over 30 years, the C-Class has long served as a foundation for Mercedes-Benz, and this latest iteration reflects a broader recalibration. In today’s geopolitical environment, with fluctuating fuel costs and shifting energy priorities, electric mobility continues to gain relevance. This follows a period where several automakers reassessed EV timelines and leaned into hybrids. As for competition, BMW’s upcoming BMW i3 Neue Klasse and Audi’s evolving EV strategy, where even-numbered models will define its battery electric offerings, meaning an electric A4 is expected to follow. The MBUX Hyperscreen offers an incredible amount of control and interaction with over 55 inches of displays, and Surround Navigation with Google technology offers intuitive and safe navigation with state-of-the-art graphics for easy driving. The revised design of the new 2027 Mercedes-Benz EQS features a few distinct and important touches. One of them is a standing Mercedes-Benz star, an homage to the S-Class and an ode to Mercedes-Benz tradition. A new grille and light assemblies also enhances the vehicle’s look. Inside, Mercedes-Benz has introduced new seatbelt heating technology to the 2027 EQS, which can also be seen in the new S-Class. Rear seat passengers can enjoy power-adjustable seats, wireless device charging, and an available rear seat entertainment system with screens that feature integrated cameras for videoconferencing. A 710-watt Burmester High-End 3D Surround Sound System with 15 speakers and Dolby Atmos technology offers audio luxury. <- Gallery -> Nappa leather upholstery is available for the new Mercedes-Benz EQS, along with a new Natural Grain Poplar Wood trim in black. Along with that, two new MANUFAKTUR colors have been introduced: MANUFAKTUR Black Sparkling, which features glass flakes, and MANUFAKTUR Verde Silver Magno, an elegant matte color. In addition to those, MANUFAKTUR Made To Measure is available for the 2027 Mercedes-Benz EQS, as well, unlocking the vast palette of over 100 colors to choose from. Steering wheel variants, emblem packages, illuminated door sills, and other stunning details are a part of the program, as well, positioning the EQS as a true Mercedes-Benz flagship sedan. With incredible new technology at its heart and luxury craftsmanship tradition throughout, the new 2027 Mercedes-Benz EQS is the future of Mercedes-Benz luxury. Mercedes-Benz USA Increases G-Class Sales In Q1 2026

By Tyler Rampersaud –  April 09, 2026

Mercedes-Benz USA Sold 78,500 Cars In Q1 2026

Celebrating 140 years since Karl Benz invented the production automobile, Mercedes-Benz has been evolving some of the most celebrated cars in its lineup and introducing new technology throughout. Placing focus on high-end offerings, a new flagship Mercedes-Maybach S-Class has been unveiled, and a new Mercedes-Maybach VLS “Grand Limousine” van has been announced, as well. In the first quarter of 2026, Mercedes-Benz reported sales of 78,500 vehicles, a number that represents “resilience… and strong demand” according to the MBUSA CEO, Adam Chamberlain. Mercedes-Benz also reports that the strong number comes thanks to sustained demand for the brand’s SUV lineup, including the recently revised and highly popular GLC, as well as the GLE which just received an update. In Mercedes-Benz’s Top-End offering, the G-Class enjoyed a 16 percent increase in sales year-on-year during the quarter, while the SL increased by 47 percent. Maybach sales also increased by 22 percent. Core models like the GLE and GLC enjoyed sales increases during the quarter, but the overall sales number for the quarter represents a slight decrease compared to last year. However, Mercedes-Benz looks forward to the remainder of 2026 with new models and updated staples that represent the cutting edge of automotive luxury, and many of its models started the year strong.
