Some time ago, the Mercedes-Benz Vision V concept car previewed a new, highly futuristic approach to creating luxury vans, with a new electric architecture and luxurious details. That concept previewed a new Mercedes-Benz van lineup, and the first production model in that lineup has now arrived: the Mercedes-Benz VLE. Based on the new scalable, flexible, and modular van architecture, the VLE is a new “grand limousine” from Mercedes-Benz, transforming Mercedes-Benz vans into a new class of vehicles with luxurious ride quality and the flexibility and versatility vans are known for.
Created with family needs, luxurious transportation, and leisurely travel in mind, the VLE and its new architecture combine a spacious, flexible interior with smart, elegant exterior styling and EV efficiency. One of its most noteworthy luxury features is the “Cinema Experience” rear seat entertainment, deploying a massive central screen from the ceiling with voice commands to access entertainment features.
Seating for up to 8 rewrites the rules for limousine-level luxury, especially compared to previous Mercedes-Benz luxury vehicles, and an incredibly low drag coefficient of just 0.25 not only contributes to an elegant, sleek silhouette, but also optimal electric efficiency. In the spirit of combining the best of luxury cars and vans, the rear sliding doors feature fully retractable windows, and the VLE also has features like a 22-speaker sound system, a cooled center console, and a panoramic glass roof.

Thanks to 800-volt electric architecture and well over 400 miles of driving range, fast charging makes long journeys a breeze in the new Mercedes-Benz VLE, and while the VLE 300 will be the first model to enter the market, the VLE 400 4MATIC will offer all-wheel drive and compelling performance with 305 kW on tap and a 0-60 time of 6.4 seconds.
Driving the new Mercedes-Benz VLE will be much easier than other vans, as well, with features like Lane Change Assist, the highly advanced MB.OS lending its intelligence to the driving experience, the latest MBUX system, and navigation created as a collaboration between Mercedes-Benz and Google Maps, with Electric Intelligence that plans routes with charging in mind. With 140 years of history under its belt, the new Mercedes-Benz VLE is opening a new chapter for an integral part of Mercedes-Benz’s brand: its celebrated lineup of vans.
