A New Porsche 911 Variant Is Being Unveiled On April 14

The reveal will show the car being driven on mountain roads.

Of course, the Porsche 911 is one of the world’s most recognizable and celebrated sports cars. As ubiquitous as it is, though, there is nothing else quite like it. With an unmistakable silhouette and a rear-engined layout that has lasted many generations and over 60 years, the Porsche 911 isn’t just a charming and fun sports car to drive; it’s also a powerful performance machine that represents the cutting edge of performance engineering innovation with each new generation.

Currently, the Porsche 911 showcases incredible lightweight construction and aerodynamics in the form of the GT3 and GT3 RS, while the Turbo variants and the Carrera GTS feature a new approach to power with the innovative T-Hybrid system. However, a new Porsche 911 variant is coming, and with its full reveal set to take place on April 14, Porsche says that it’s a “particularly fun” variant of the sports car legend.

Just over a week ahead of the reveal of the new car, Porsche has shared that the new Porsche 911 variant will be presented in the form of a film. In the film, automotive experts, who don’t know about the new model, are tasked with taking the new car on its first test: a drive through the mountain roads of Tenerife.

The most populous of the Spanish Canary Islands off the coast of Morocco, Tenerife is known for its carnival in the city of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, and for Mount Teide, the highest point in Spain and the third-largest volcano in the world. With stunning vistas, gorgeous mountain roads, and incredible biodiversity, Tenerife is a stunning destination for the new Porsche 911 to show off its performance prowess and driving pleasure. In just over a week, the world will get to see the incredible abilities of the latest Porsche 911 variant.
