Porsche Design Adds Cayenne Models to Its Custom Timepieces Program

The Cayenne receives recognition in the form of a luxury watch.

Ever since the Porsche Cayenne debuted in 2002, surprising everyone by being both a proper luxury SUV and unmistakably a Porsche, it’s carried this quiet influence through the brand’s entire lineup. It became the gateway for a lot of new owners, the family Porsche that still handled like a sports car, and the model that helped shape its modern design DNA. So it feels fitting that as the first fully electric Cayenne arrives, Porsche Design is celebrating the SUV with something more personal, courtesy of the custom-built Timepieces program. What started as a very Porsche 911–centric idea, letting owners spec a mechanical watch the same way they spec their car, now opens its doors to Cayenne drivers who want their wristwear to mirror the same colors, materials, and design cues that make their SUV theirs.

A black wristwatch rests on the dashboard of a Cayenne, with the car's interior and touchscreen display visible in the background, highlighting refined Porsche Design aesthetics.

The allure of the program is in how naturally it carries over from the car world. You still get the choice between two movements: the Chronograph with the WERK 01.100 and the Globetimer with the WERK 04.110, both COSC-certified and built in Porsche’s Grenchen facility. But nothing about the experience feels overly technical. You start with a titanium case, either bead-blasted or black-coated, then decide if you want a tachymeter or minute-track bezel. From there, the configurator lets you dive as deep as you want. The dial’s color ring can match any Cayenne exterior finish, including the more vibrant Paint-to-Sample options, and the hands come in Porsche Design’s “Performance” or “Essence” styles.

The straps might be where the Cayenne connection feels the strongest. They’re made from real Porsche vehicle leather and yarn, and you can match them to nearly any Cayenne interior color, a fun detail if you’re the type who notices stitching. If leather isn’t your thing, the titanium bracelet, matching the case finish, is ultra-light, and the quick-change system makes swapping between the two almost too easy. Both the Chronograph Cayenne and Globetimer Cayenne are now available in the U.S., Canada, Europe, and Japan. Prices start at $6,250, but just like configuring the actual SUV, the final number depends on how deep you go.
