Meet the Michelin-Star Chef With a Sweet Tooth for Porsche

There’s something about Porsche that draws in owners and enthusiasts you wouldn’t expect, a global passion that bridges different industries, lifestyles, and day jobs. It might be a financial analyst easing into the morning commute to the office in a 911 Targa, or a Michelin-star chef whose real guilty pleasure is spirited weekend drives in a 911 GT3 RS, different worlds, same view behind the wheel. That’s exactly the case for Chef Simone Zanoni, who recently spent time with Porsche for an interview discussing what drives his passion for Porsche and fuels his success in the kitchen. The Porsche 911 in three words?Timeless, precise, emotional. What would you never do in a 911?Drive it without respect. A 911 is engineering culture What’s your favorite road? The Tonale Pass in Italy. What on a 911 could you do without? The screens. The 911 moment of your life? The first lap I drove in a 911 GT3 RS – unforgettable.  Long before his rise to fame in the culinary world, Simone grew up on a farm in the Italian region of Lombardy, discovering a love for cooking through his grandmother and traditional Italian dishes. Success followed after his culinary training, working in the kitchens of legends like Gordon Ramsay, and even earning a Michelin Star for Le George at Four Seasons Hotel George V in Paris. And while his world became defined by food, his underlying love remained Porsche sports cars and motorsports. In fact, when Simone isn’t in the kitchen putting together an incredible, memorable meal, he likes to spend time behind the wheel of his 991-generation Porsche 911 GT3 RS, at somewhere around 9,000 RPM.  It’s proof that there are millions of Porsche stories just like Simone Zanoni’s, each sparked by a single moment that sticks for life. In a world where Porsches are loved across continents, no two stories are the same, but they all share that same smile the moment the key turns. All Porsche Inventory

Richard Hammond Shares Why He Loves The Porsche 911

Richard Hammond is no stranger to speed. Over the past three decades, he’s piloted rocket-powered dragsters, wrangled V8 rally cars in Iceland, and pushed the limits of everything in between. Last week, the former TopGear and Grand Tour presenter once again demonstrated that big power can also come in silence, delivered by a near-production prototype of the upcoming all-electric Porsche Cayenne. During a recent film shoot," title="YouTube video" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen> to tow a 100-year-old Lagonda weighing over two tons (about 4,400 pounds). With the trailer, the total haul approached 6,600 pounds. With the immense torque reserves and extensive thermal management of the batteries, the Cayenne Electric was able to pull the load from Hammond’s Hereford workshop to his garage. Porsche later confirmed that the upcoming Cayenne Electric will support a towing capacity of up to 7,716 pounds, identical to its combustion-powered sibling.  Leading up to last week’s appearance at the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed, the Cayenne electric also clinched the SUV record at the historic Shelsley Walsh Hill Climb, completing the 0.56-mile course in just 31.28 seconds, with Porsche Formula E development driver Gabriela Jílková behind the wheel. A point worth noting is that, this could be a Turbo variant, as it features Turbonite badges. View All Porsche Cayennes For Sale But for Hammond, the Cayenne’s evolution and connection with the Stuttgart-based brand is more than just technological, but an emotional one. In a recent interview with Porsche, he also took the opportunity to speak about the 911.  Across TopGear and The Grand Tour, he’s hailed the 911 as the ultimate all-rounder: “characterful, practical, fast.” Being a lifelong Porsche fan, Hammond has even said on DriveTribe that he’s in a very privileged position to own a 992 GTS Cabriolet, a 992 Turbo S Cabriolet, and several versions over the decades. For Hammond, this is a full circle. His best advice? “Take your time. All things shall pass.”  But his very first 911 was a humble red 1982 left-hand Drive SC. In a " title="YouTube video" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen> he highlighted how Porsche has stuck to the rear-engined formula and relentlessly refined it for the past eight decades. Hammond reiterated: “The point of a 911 is you can do everything with it.”  Besides Richard, even James May, his long-time co-host, shares that same love as his ecclectic car collection includes a 997.2 2010 911 Carrera S. More recently, Captain Slow and Hamster were seen in a Plane Vs EV (Porsche Taycan) race, just like the old days, concluding at the Dunsfold airfield, i.e the TopGear test track. As for Jeremy Clarkson, often one of Porsche’s harshest critics, even he came around, after he drove the 997.1 Turbo, praising it for its versatility as an everyday sports car, and die-hard TopGear fans amongst you might know why Jezza holds the 928 in such high regard. Coming back to the significance of the Cayenne, ironically, it was the original and controversial Cayenne, along with the Boxster, that helped save Porsche from financial collapse back in the late 1990s and early 2000s. The Porsche SUV’s commercial success, having sold over a million units since 2003, helped bankroll the company’s performance icons. Without it, there would have been no Carrera GT. Now, the electric Cayenne is set to do much of the same, as the EV era of Porsche continues to take shape. View All Porsche 911s For Sale Images Source: Porsche

Dreaming in Full Color: Sean Wotherspoon's Harlequin-Insp...

Inspiration taken from Volkswagen's multi-color MK3 Golf. If the name Sean Wotherspoon sounds familiar, it's likely because you've seen his work through creative collaborations with huge brands like Nike, Adidas, and Porsche. Personally, I remember following Sean's early YouTube series centered around his Round Two streetwear store in Maryland, an early glimpse into a creative journey that's since taken him deep into the worlds of fashion, design, and automotive culture. Following up on successful projects like his Taycan 4S Cross Turismo Art Car and a 1-of-1 "Nashy Blue" 911 Dakar, Sean channeled his love for classic 911s for his newest collaboration build with Porsche. The car of choice? Porsche's homologated 1972 911 Carrera 2.7 RS, known for its distinctive ducktail rear spoiler, widened rear fenders, and powerful race-proven engine. What started as a color obsession sparked by Volkswagen's MK3 Golf Harlequin, which he discovered in high school, has transformed into full-scale automotive artwork. The Carrera 2.7 RS has been carefully repainted and reupholstered panel-by-panel, resulting from a months-long collaboration that weaves Porsche heritage, Harlequin nostalgia, and Wotherspoon's passion for expressive design. Every shade on the car has meaning, many borrowed from past Wotherspoon projects or the iconic color palette of Meyers Manx, and the result is a one-off work that blurs the line between collector car and rolling art. The artistic touch didn't just stop at the exterior. The interior is where this build really finds its voice, lined with vintage Levi's denim, flannel shirts from the '60s to '90s, and even a cork dashboard, left over from his earlier Taycan project. The attention to detail is wild, with door cards featuring real Levi's jean pockets. Chosen for their age and patina, every stitch reflects the handwork of the Meyers Manx upholstery team. What makes this Carrera RS so compelling is its rarity, museum-level fit and finish, and the story layered into every element of the car. It's a time capsule, a tribute to DIY car culture, and a deeply personal vision all at once. This is more than just an old 911 with a colorful wrap; it's a love letter to creativity and a future where cars still have soul. View All Porsche Carrera RS For Sale Source: Type7/Sean Wotherspoon

Jerry Seinfeld's $25M Porsche 917K Once-Owned By Steve Mc...

While some cars leave a lasting impact, others live on to become timeless icons, representing a moment in automotive and motorsports history that will never be forgotten. Referred to as a "moment car" for the Porsche by Jerry Seinfeld, the 917 represents a moment when the brand's DNA was driven by its success on the race track. And while every Porsche 917 proves to be special, with only 65 ever made, the most significant example is Steve McQueen's Gulf Racing Porsche 917K featured in the 1971 film Le Mans. Famously owned by Jerry Seinfeld after finding it in the lower parking garage of a California car dealership by longtime friend and fellow Porsche fanatic Spike Feresten, Steve McQueen's 1969 Porsche 917K recently made waves in the automotive world as Mecum Auctions presented it as the main feature for its ever-popular Kissimmee auction event. But even with everyone on its side, the car was bid all the way to $25 million and concluded as a "no sale." After believing that one of the most influential cars in existence didn't sell with a $25 million offer amongst a worldwide crowd of fans and buyers, Jerry Seinfeld has finally opened up about the story behind his Porsche 917K on the newest episode of Spike's Car Radio podcast. Jerry reveals that although the perfect situation would be to sell the car at auction, the event and the publicity of the Porsche being for sale served as even more advertisement for any qualified buyers. He goes on to explain that a number of interested buyers gathered later to talk about the 917's future ownership. Keeping the buyer's identity completely anonymous as they wish to remain, Jerry finally tells Spike and Zuckerman that the 1969 Porsche 917K was privately sold and shipped to its new owner's home. Although the exact number of sales remains a secret, Jerry hints at the selling price after agreeing with Zuckerman asking if it was more or less in the range of $25 million. Without worrying about selling quite possibly the most iconic Porsche or how much money he would profit, it's even more comical to hear that Jerry never even tuned into the live bidding being televised for millions worldwide. Now that it remains in the private collection of its new owner, we hope to see Steve McQueen's 1969 Porsche 917K at future events. " width="680"> Source: Spike's Car Radio YouTube

Tom Cruise-Driven Porsche 928 From Risky Business ...

Up for auction is a transaxle Porsche with silver-screen fame. Monterey Car Week is one of the most anticipated events on the annual automotive calendar, and for good reason. Some of the most rare, powerful, expensive, and desirable cars in the world are displayed, celebrated, and also auctioned. One of those earned its panache with its appearance in a movie, specifically Risky Business, which starred Tom Cruise. The car is a 1979 Porsche 928, one of the iconic front-engined Transaxle Porsches from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. Powered by a V8 engine, the 928 was a veritable supercar in its time, and in the movie, it’s apparently the car in which Cruise delivers the line “Porsche, there is no substitute.” In addition, it’s reported that because the 928 was equipped with a manual transmission, and Tom Cruise didn’t know how to drive with a manual transmission before, this very Porsche 928 for auction was the car in which Tom Cruise learned to operate a manual transmission. After its time on screen, the 928 lived life as a used car, until Lewis Johnsen of Denver, Colorado, discovered it. A fan of the car and the film, he found the car to restore it. Now, Bonhams has listed it for auction to be sold at The Quail Auction during the highly anticipated Monterey Car Week among some of the world’s most desirable automotive creations. With an appearance in an iconic film, this Porsche 928 is a sports car icon with an interesting history. View All Porsche 928s For Sale Image Source: Bonhams

Detective Mike Lowrey, performed by Will Smith, is tearing up the streets in a black 992-generation Porsche 911 Turbo S Coupe, complete with its signature rear spoiler. This marks the third time a Porsche from Zuffenhausen has starred in the franchise, proving its role as an automotive icon in the "Bad Boys" universe. Porsche USA Dominique Tascioglu, Manager of Brand & Content Marketing, highlighted the connection between the "Bad Boys" franchise and Porsche, stating, "For nearly three decades, the Porsche 911 has helped create the bond between the iconic 'Bad Boys' Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett." Fans can also look forward to a special cameo from the original Bad Boys car, the 964 911 Turbo, bringing a nostalgic touch to the high-octane action. " width="680"> Porsche played a prominent role at the global premieres of "Bad Boys: Ride or Die," showcasing both the film's current 992-generation 911 Turbo S and also the iconic 964-generation Porsche 911 Turbo from the original movie. The Berlin premiere was especially glamorous, with actors, filmmakers, and international guests arriving on the red carpet in Porsche sports cars. Since the franchise's inception in 1995, Porsches have been a staple for the high-speed chases and dramatic escapes that define "Bad Boys."
