Porsche Reports Surge In 911 Sales For Q1 2026

By Tyler Rampersaud –  April 10, 2026

Porsche Reports Q1 2026 Sales Results

The first quarter of 2026 has wrapped up, and for Porsche Cars North America, the quarter saw a decrease in sales by 12.5 percent compared to the first quarter of last year. However, Porsche says that the decline is due to the discontinuation of the ICE-powered Porsche 718 lineup and a reduced volume of BEVs Meanwhile, Porsche’s most iconic sports car, which doesn’t usually contribute the bulk of sales numbers for the brand despite being so celebrated, turned out to be a sales hero for the quarter. That is, of course, the 911, and its 3,826 sales during Q1 2026 represented an 83-percent surge in comparison to the first quarter of last year. Porsche says that the introduction of the new 992.2 911 Turbo S Coupe and Cabriolet models to the market contributed to the increase. The Macan, which rivals the Cayenne as Porsche’s most popular model, was the highest seller in Q1 2026 for PCNA, but the Cayenne Electric will be introduced to the North American market later this year, to be offered alongside the existing hybrid and ICE-powered Cayenne models. PCNA’s certified pre-owned sales of 11,749 cars also represented a 1-percent increase from the same quarter of last year. About the results, PCNA President and CEO Timo Resch says, “Despite market challenges and the expected impact due to the end of production for the 718, customers continue to choose Porsche. Their enthusiasm means a great deal to us, and I want to thank them for their trust in the brand. “I’m immensely proud of our teams across PCNA and in our Porsche Centers — their agility, focus and determination drove these results. Looking ahead, we are excited for the first deliveries of the new Cayenne Electric later this summer, enhancing the offering alongside the gas-powered and hybrid Cayenne models which remain available." As Porsche looks forward to the rest of 2026, the introduction of the Cayenne Electric is slated to make waves in its future results. Tobias Sühlmann Replaces Michael Mauer as Porsche Head of Design

By Tyler Rampersaud –  January 28, 2026

Tobias Sühlmann Is Porsche's New Head Of Design

For over 20 years, Michael Mauer has been at the helm of Porsche's design. However, the 63-year-old is stepping down to make way for a new Head of Design at the celebrated manufacturer. That is Tobias Sühlmann, a 46-year-old designer who previously served as Chief Design Officer at McLaren since 2023. While Porsche’s legacy will be shaped by Sühlmann’s tenure, Michael Mauer’s impact and influence are lasting on the brand.’ Mauer’s time at Porsche started in 2004, and he was the fourth Head of Design for the brand, succeeding Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, Anatol Lapine, and Harm Lagaay. After studying automotive design at Pforzheim University of Applied Sciences and working for Mercedes-Benz, smart, and Saab, Mauer joined Porsche, and one of the first projects under his leadership was the Panamera. Still an important part of Porsche’s lineup today, the Panamera represented a unique challenge: translating its iconic design principles into a four-door model, going beyond sports cars for the first time since the Cayenne. Mauer was also responsible for the revision of the Cayenne, and then the legendary 918 Spyder hypercar. After that, his work included modernizing 911 and bringing Porsche into the era of electrification. As Sühlmann takes over, Porsche looks forward to a new era of design, informed by his experience not only at McLaren but also at the same university as Mauer and in positions at Volkswagen, Bugatti, Aston Martin, and Bentley. However, Mauer’s 22 years of work resulted in milestone moments that Porsche and its design legacy won’t soon forget. View All Porsche For Sale Image Source: Porsche

Porsche Reports 2025 Sales Numbers, North America Remains Top Market

By Khris Bharath –  January 16, 2026

Porsche Reports 2025 Sales Numbers, North America Remains Top Market

In a year shaped by tariffs, trade uncertainty, tighter supply, and uneven demand, Porsche still delivered 279,449 units globally in 2025, which is down 10 percent from 310,718 units a year earlier. This decline was tied to factors such as supply gaps for key combustion models, softer demand in China, and a deliberate focus on value rather than volume. “After several record years, our deliveries in 2025 were below the previous year’s level. This development is in line with our expectations,” said Matthias Becker, Porsche’s board member for sales and marketing.  North America remains the German sportscar maker’s largest market, with 86,229 deliveries, essentially flat year over year. Porsche Cars North America reported retail deliveries of 76,219 vehicles in 2025, narrowly surpassing the prior record set in 2024 and marking the strongest sales year in its history. Certified Pre-Owned volumes also reached a record, rising 11 percent to 48,092 units, reinforcing continued demand across both new and pre-owned cars. “Driven by the loyalty and enthusiasm of our customers for the incredible cars we offer, we have achieved stability and even growth to set a new record in a market that experienced profound change in 2025,” said Timo Resch, president and CEO of PCNA. Meanwhile, Europe, excluding Porsche’s home market, saw deliveries fall 13 percent to 66,340 cars, while Germany declined 16 percent to 29,968 units. In China, deliveries dropped sharply, down 26 percent to 41,938 vehicles, reflecting weaker conditions in the luxury segment and intense competition from domestic players, particularly among electric models. At the model level, the popular mid-size Porsche Macan, now made up of both gas and all-electric variants, led the lineup with 84,328 deliveries , with 27,139 units coming from North America alone. Fully electric versions accounted for 45,367 units, while combustion variants continued to sell in non-EU markets. The Porsche 911 reached a record 51,583 deliveries, underscoring sustained demand for Porsche’s highest-margin sports car, including new T-Hybrid derivatives. As for electrification, globally, 34.4 percent of Porsche deliveries were electrified, with 22.2 percent fully electric and 12.1 percent plug-in hybrids. Over in Europe, electrified models accounted for 57.9 percent of deliveries, with plug-in hybrids dominating Panamera and Cayenne sales. The Porsche Taycan recorded 16,339 deliveries, down 22 percent, as adoption of electromobility slowed. With the all-electric Cayenne joining the lineup alongside the Macan EV, it remains to be seen how this space evolves. Looking ahead to 2026, Becker said Porsche will continue to align production with its “value over volume” strategy while investing across combustion, hybrid, and electric powertrains. Expansion of Exclusive Manufaktur and Sonderwunsch personalization programs will play a larger role, allowing Porsche to offset lower volumes with higher per-car revenue. Porsche 18 Cylinder Paten

By Khris Bharath –  October 25, 2025

Here’s What You Need to Know About Porsche’s Wild New W18...

Porsche is a brand synonymous with the legendary flat six, but despite electrification on the horizon, if you thought the German marque was done with combustion engines, think again. The automaker’s latest patent for a new W18 powerplant surfaced recently, revealing a design that feels like a deliberate pushback against the full EV narrative dominating the industry. This comes at a moment when Porsche’s operating profit dropped 67 percent in the first half of 2025 owing to factors like a slowdown in sales in China and U.S. tariffs. CEO Oliver Blume is set to depart, and Michael Leiters is taking over in 2026. Despite financial pressure and an ongoing restructuring of its EV roadmap, the engineers in Zuffenhausen are still finding ways to reinvent mechanical performance. The W-based configuration isn’t new within the wider Volkswagen Group. Bentley’s legendary W12, used in models like the Continental GT Speed and Flying Spur, has long proven how smooth, compact, and potent this layout can be. Bugatti also experimented with W engines in its early modern era. Several pre-production Veyron concepts featured an 18-cylinder engine before the design eventually evolved into the production W16 used in the Veyron and Chiron during the glorious Pïech-era. The new Tourbillon marked the end of that chapter, but the W philosophy clearly lives on within the Group. Porsche’s new interpretation pushes it further. The patent outlines an 18-cylinder engine built around three banks of six cylinders, each with its own turbocharger, feeding a single crankshaft. It’s modular, scalable, and space-optimized, which means that the layout allows flexibility for nine, twelve, fifteen, or eighteen cylinders, depending on application, and it all fits within the footprint of a straight-six. The key difference from the old VW-style W layout is noteworthy. That version combined two VR6 blocks joined together, whereas here, everything runs to one central crankshaft, a true W. This reduces turbo lag with shorter pathways, less resistance, and more pressure.  The timing of this patent is telling. Porsche initially had an ambitious plan to have an 80% all-electric lineup by 2030, but that plan has been scaled back after a global slowdown in EV demand. The brand now sees more value in a diversified approach, selling gas and electric models side by side. You can already see that with the new Macan, the Cayenne, and the same will likely happen with the next 718 Boxster and Cayman, which were originally planned to go all-electric but are now expected to retain combustion engines. It is worth noting that, sometimes, an engine exists only as a full-scale testbed that lends its findings to other projects. Maybe no W18 will ever hit the road. Maybe it will just spark a smarter V6, a better turbo, or a cooler intake system. But if the W18 does reach production, and if it gains some form of electrification, could it underpin Porsche’s long-awaited successor to the 918 Spyder, Carrera GT, and 959 lineage? Porsche concepts like the 919 Street and Mission X already previewed that direction, and we did get the 963 RSP, but that was a one-off. A production halo supercar would lead to a new-age holy trinity ready to take on the Ferrari F80 and McLaren W1.  View All Porsches For Sale

Porsche Cars North America Credits Macan For H1 2025 Growth

The first half of 2025 was the best one yet for PCNA. Porsche’s already celebrated lineup of luxury performance vehicles is rapidly evolving, with a new all-electric version of its Macan SUV, the first roadgoing hybrid Porsche 911, and new generations of its perennial staple vehicles recently unveiled. However, the first half of 2025 has proved to be one of the most successful periods for Porsche Cars North America yet, with 38,696 sales at the end of the second quarter exceeding 2024’s H1 number of 34,733. Porsche credits its robust sales success, which in fact resulted in PCNA’s best half-year ever, with the success of the new Porsche Macan. Already one of Porsche’s most popular models, the Macan spent past years trading places with the Porsche Cayenne, Porsche’s original smash hit luxury SUV, as the highest seller in Porsche’s portfolio. However, the introduction of the new Porsche Macan Electric saw the Macan’s sales rise to 14,563 in H1 2025 for PCNA, compared to the Cayenne’s 10,327. Compared to 2024’s sales number for the Macan in the first half of the year, the H1 2025 number of Porsche Macan sales represents a significant increase of 21.32 percent, signaling the success of the electric rendition of the popular luxury performance SUV. In addition, nearly a thousand more examples of the Porsche Panamera sold in the first half of this year than in the same period last year. Sales of 911 and 718 models increased during the half, as did sales of Certified Pre-Owned Porsches. Overall, the first half of 2025 was an incredibly successful period for Porsche Cars North America. View All Porsche For Sale Image Source: Porsche

Porsche Sets U.S. Q1 Sales Record With 18,884 Vehicles De...

With one of the most passionate and devoted communities of owners and enthusiasts, Porsche seems to be always on the rise, thanks to its diverse lineup of sports cars and SUVs. Whether it's the weekend track warrior with a 911 GT3 RS or the conscious commuter behind the wheel of the new electric Macan, Porsche people are pleased with their ownership experience. Porsche is off to a red-hot start in 2025, reporting a record-breaking first quarter with 18,884 new vehicle deliveries in the United States. That's a huge 40.6% jump from Q1 2024 and an 8.1% gain over the previous Q1 record in 2023. The sales surge highlights a strong demand across Porsche's entire lineup, fueled partly by the fix of supply chain issues that impacted last year's production. Porsche's U.S. CEO, Timo Resch, credits the brand's growth to customer excitement for new models and the continued support from Porsche dealers nationwide. The Porsche Macan continues to lead the charge, moving 7,486 units this quarter alone. Even more impressive is that 44.6% of those were the new all-electric Macan, showing that Porsche EV sales are gaining serious traction. Electric vehicles now make up 23% of Porsche's total Q1 U.S. sales, thanks to interest in the Macan Electric and 1,019 Taycan deliveries. Meanwhile, traditional two-door favorites like the 911 and 718 also posted strong gains, selling 2,086 and 1,476 units. The Cayenne and Panamera models added solid volume, with 5,331 and 1,486 vehicles sold. Certified Pre-Owned Porsche sales also saw a healthy increase, with 11,587 vehicles sold in Q1 2025, up 11.7% year-over-year. With new models and longtime nameplates like the 911 still turning heads, Porsche seems well-positioned to maintain its sales momentum through the year. Porsche’s 2024 Results Show Strength In Tough Times

Porsche managed to pull off some impressive 2024 results despite some harsh global conditions. The brand hit record sales in four out of five major regions, delivering 310,718 vehicles to customers worldwide. The Cayenne topped the charts as the best-seller, followed by the Macan and the ever-popular 911. Porsche kept things fresh by updating five of its six main model lines, including the fully electric Macan and an improved Cayenne. With a mix of combustion engines, hybrids, and electric options, Porsche kept plenty of choices on the table for all types of drivers. For passionate purists and collectors, Porsche teased new 911 variants, including a cool heritage-inspired edition that nods to the 1970s. Porsche also revealed plans for a new SUV model with combustion and hybrid options, which are set to arrive later in the decade. Porsche leaned on strategic cost moves and its "Road to 20" performance plan to stay on track financially. Despite economic challenges and supply chain issues, they still turned a group operating profit of $6.07 billion and maintained a strong automotive net cash flow of $4.01 billion. Porsche Reports Record U.S. Sales In 2024

Porsche sets a new U.S. sales record with 76,167 vehicles sold in 2024, driven by strong demand for the 911, Cayenne, and Macan models. Porsche Cars North America (PCNA) has hit a historic milestone, reporting record U.S. car deliveries in 2024 with 76,167 vehicles sold. The new record marks a one percent increase over the previous set in 2023. Timo Resch, President and CEO of PCNA, attributed this success to the brand's packed lineup, including new ICE, hybrid, and BEV models like the 911, Panamera, Taycan, and Macan. The iconic Porsche 911 achieved record-breaking sales of 14,128 units, a 20.8% gain over the prior year. Meanwhile, the 718 lineup saw a 25.9% surge delivering 5,698 units in 2024. Two-door models accounted for 26% of total U.S. sales. The Cayenne also set a new record with 22,432 units sold, a 9.6% increase, while the Macan and Panamera contributed 25,180 and 3,982 units. Porsche Approved Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) sales also thrived, with a 12% rise to 43,249 vehicles. Resch expressed gratitude to Porsche’s owners, dealers, and employees for driving this momentum, emphasizing the brand’s focus on continued growth in 2025. The record-breaking year solidifies Porsche’s place as an industry-leader in the luxury car world. View all Porsches for sale on duPont REGISTRY by clicking the link below. Porsche 911 Sales Increase By 36.9% In Q3 2024

A revamped lineup spells solid results for Porsche in the third quarter. After celebrating its 75th anniversary last year, as well as the 60th anniversary of the legendary Porsche 911, 2024 has been a year of transformative change for Porsche. The iconic luxury performance manufacturer revealed a new version of its Panamera luxury sedan and wagon, as well as a new version of the Taycan, including the ultra performance-oriented Taycan Turbo GT, the all-electric version of the Macan, and a new version of the 911, including the first hybrid 911, the new Porsche 911 Carrera GTS. Porsche’s revamped product lineup has proved a success as the brand’s U.S. sales results for the third quarter of 2024 are now in the books. In the quarter, Porsche delivered 19,350 cars for United States customers, and while that number represents a 3.2 percent decrease from last year’s number and a 4 percent decrease year-to-date, some of Porsche’s revamped models are beginning to show their potential for success as deliveries begin. With 5,339 U.S. deliveries of the Porsche 911 in the quarter, the sales of the model in the quarter increased by 36.9 percent compared to the same quarter of last year. In addition, the 718’s sales increased by 36.4 percent in the quarter compared to last year’s Q3 number. With new models getting ready to hit the road, Porsche expects to finish 2024 strong. Porsche Reports Impressive Q2 2024 Results With High-Dema...

Porsche's second quarter of 2024 showed impressive growth, outperforming the previous quarter in sales revenue, operating profit, and group operating return on sales, which hit 17%. Its strong performance was fueled by the high demand for models like the 911 Carrera GTS T-Hybrid and the soon-to-be-launched all-electric Macan. The company's strong financial results, with a group operating profit of $3.37 billion and a 15.7% group operating return on sales for the first half of 2024. The 2024 year marks a significant period for Porsche, with updates to four of its six model lines, including the Panamera, Taycan, and 911, all launched on schedule. The introduction of the new all-electric Macan in September strengthens Porsche's leading position in the electric vehicle market. CEO Oliver Blume highlighted the excitement surrounding the 911 Carrera GTS, the first road-approved 911 with a super-light performance hybrid system. However, the extensive product launches have impacted sales and inventories, with a necessary increase in research and development costs. Despite challenges, Porsche's financial strategy remains healthy, with a well-balanced sales structure that absorbs market fluctuations. Deliveries to customers saw a slight decline, but markets in Europe and Germany posted increases. Supply shortages, particularly in special aluminum alloys due to external factors, have led Porsche to adjust its 2024 forecast. Despite these adjustments, Porsche remains focused on supplying the automotive world with a wide range of powerful and efficient vehicles.
