Rivian Partners With Uber On Robotaxis

Rivian is one of the ambitious manufacturers in the automotive industry that is promising to shape the future of mobility with its creations. Entering the market initially with its rugged, adventure-ready models, Rivian’s own lineup of series production models is expanding with the introduction of the R2, but alongside that, Rivian is also expanding with wider efforts like robotaxis. The manufacturer has just announced that its partner for robotaxis is rideshare titan Uber, who is investing $1.25 billion in Rivian through 2031, subject to Rivian achieving certain autonomous driving milestones. Uber and its fleet partners are expected to purchase 10,000 robotaxis initially, with the option to purchase up to 40,000 more in 2030. In 2028, the initial commercial deployments of these robotaxis will take place in San Francisco and Miami, with 25 cities planned in 2031. The fully autonomous fleet will consist of Rivian R2 vehicles, and the announcement of the partnership between Rivian and Uber comes after Rivian announced its third-generation autonomy platform in December 2025. It consists of a multi-modal sensor suite with 11 cameras, 5 radars, and 1 LiDAR. With cutting-edge technology fueling the autonomy of its latest vehicles, Rivian and Uber are coming together with ambitions of shaping the future of mobility across the country with up to 50,000 Rivian R2 robotaxis come the turn of the next decade. Rivian Announces New Atlanta Headquarters

Rivian plants its roots even deeper in Georgia. Recently, Rivian began a landmark investment in the area of Atlanta, Georgia, starting with a new manufacturing site located just outside of the city, which is one of the biggest population hubs in the South. Now, the development of Rivian’s presence in Atlanta is growing even further, as the manufacturer is establishing a new headquarters facility in the area, bringing more jobs and economic activity to the area, as well as even greater presence for Rivian’s brand on the East Coast. Opening in late 2025, the new Rivian headquarters office in Atlanta will occupy the top floor and lobby of Portman Holdings' Junction Krog District building, and 100 people are set to be employed in the building by the end of the year, with 500 people working at the new headquarters when it is fully built as further expansion takes place in 2026. Bringing its groundbreaking electric vehicle innovation and cutting-edge technology to Georgia, Rivian’s new headquarters in the Atlanta area is set to further enhance the manufacturer’s existing plans to create a 7,500-person facility, along with establishing partnerships with universities, technical colleges, and other institutions to help provide continual economic opportunities and growth as it scales. As Rivian’s brand keeps growing, the Atlanta area benefits even more from its expansion than before. View All Rivian For Sale

Rivian & Polestar Collaborate On A Report On EV Sustainab...

EV pioneers become partners in environmental change. Especially since the introduction of the brand’s first SUV, the Polestar 3, it’s safe to say that in many ways, Polestar and Rivian are competitors. Both produce luxurious all-electric vehicles that aim to enhance the everyday lifestyle, but when it comes to Polestar, Rivian, and just about every other manufacturer of electric vehicles, they all share one common goal: going green. To this end, the two brands came together to initiate a report and share good news about the way in which electric vehicles are working to combat the impact that vehicle emissions have on the environment. MUST READ: Polestar 3 Now Available With LiDAR, Polestar 5 To Follow In 2024 Often when it relates to the environment, we hear that the clock is ticking, and that change needs to happen with urgency. The IPCC, short for Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, has stated that greenhouse gas emissions, for which passenger cars currently account for 15%, need to be reduced by 43% by 2030. The bad news in the report is that things are not currently heading in that direction. However, the good news in the report is that Rivian and Polestar both see a way to rectify the issue, which is by producing electric cars instead of gasoline-powered cars, making use of renewable energy in power grids, and making the production process and supply chain itself more sustainable, as well. With a shared goal, Polestar and Rivian’s report shows the way to a brighter and greener future. View All Rivians For Sale View All Polestars For Sale Source: Rivian
