O’Gara Coach helps write the final chapter of Bugatti’s W16 lineage.
It doesn’t feel like it’s been that long, but it was over 20 years ago when Bugatti rewrote the rulebook of the automotive industry with the implementation of its legendary W16 engine. With eight liters of displacement, four turbochargers, and immense power, the incredibly engineered lineage of Bugatti hypercars powered by the W16 engine are and will still remain some of the greatest performance vehicles ever crafted.
After two decades of consistently breaking records, showing off incredible exclusivity and luxury, and finding homes in some of the world’s greatest automotive collections, Bugatti has officially retired the quad-turbo W16 engine, and its upcoming new Tourbillon hypercar will be powered by a naturally aspirated V16 created in collaboration with legendary engine builder Cosworth, along with a hybrid system that imbues the new masterpiece with 1,800 horsepower.
However, the Mistral and Bolide models, an open-top roadster and a track-only coupe respectively, are heralding the end of the W16 era, with ultra-exclusive production numbers and bespoke style that makes each example of both models stand out as collector-grade masterpieces. Now, O’Gara Coach and its Bugatti Beverly Hills dealership, one of the most premier retail locations for the century-old luxury and performance car manufacturer, is showing off its delivery of one of just 99 examples of the new Bugatti Mistral.
Its stunning configuration matches an “Italian Red” exterior with a matching interior with leather upholstery in the same color. Hand-built at Bugatti’s Molsheim Atelier and delivered in Southern California, the new Bugatti W16 Mistral is a stunning example of Bugatti’s pinnacle automotive excellence at the end of its W16 era. With an incredible engine reaching the end of its life cycle, this ultra-exclusive open-top hypercar is the perfect send-off.
