This new film puts the star in Polestar.
Making good thus far on an ambitious promise to unveil five new production models in as many years once the manufacturer was established at the turn of this decade, Polestar has been rapidly growing as an EV marque with a sedan available, as well as a SUV, an SUV coupe, and a grand tourer in the form of the Polestar 5, whose production spec was very recently unveiled. The Polestar 5 is based on the Precept concept from the brand, which originally broke cover in 2020, depicting the svelte, performance-oriented grand tourer that the Polestar 5 is today.
In a new film produced entirely by Polestar’s in-house creative team, the brand showcases the new Polestar 5 in a “cinematic introduction” to the all-new electric luxury grand tourer. Known for his appearances in projects like Murderbot, Pillion, Succession, and Big Little Lies, Alexander Skarsgård is the star of the film, playing a character who simply reacts to the car by saying, “Fantastic. Tomorrow’s not dead yet.”
The film is available to watch now on Polestar’s social channels, giving viewers a beautifully composed look at the new grand touring electric luxury car from Polestar, which is based on a bespoke Polestar Performance Architecture platform that employs bonded aluminum to provide greater rigidity, safety, and weight savings than steel.
Combined with an 800V EV powertrain that boasts 872 horsepower and 749 lb/ft of torque, the new Polestar 5 is a vehicle that combines luxurious elegance, Scandinavian minimalist design, supercar-level performance, and futuristic sustainability approaches all in one stunning package, which can rocket from 0-60 in just 3.2 seconds. With the release of the new film starring Alexander Skarsgård, Polestar is opening a bold new chapter as a young luxury EV manufacturer.
