ComplexCon is where cars, music, fashion, art, and streetwear all end up under one roof, and BRABUS joined in on this year's event, making an impression with a celebrity lineup. This weekend at the Los Angeles Convention Center, ComplexCon welcomed brands, artists, musicians, designers, and collectors from across those worlds. BRABUS brought along its new BODO, gave the electric BRABUS URBAN E FRAGMENT EDITION its world premiere, and celebrated the delivery of the very first BODO to Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys.
For anyone who doesn't know The Dean Collection, it’s the art collection and creative platform founded by Swizz Beatz and Keys in 2014. The couple has spent years building a collection focused on contemporary artists, particularly artists from the Black diaspora, while also using it to support and promote their work. Swizz Beatz has a pretty serious collection of supercars and hypercars, too. His collection features a curated lineup of collectible Ferraris, include the LaFerrari, Monza SP1, Monza SP2, SF90XX Spider, and so many others. The BODO now joins that garage.
BRABUS introduced the LOVERS ROSE COLLECTION with Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys at ComplexCon, a streetwear collection inspired by their BODO and built around the rose as a symbol of love. The lineup includes T-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts, track pants, shorts, and caps, giving the project a life outside of the car.
Then there's the BODO itself. Named after BRABUS founder Bodo Buschmann, the 2+2 grand tourer is limited to 77 examples and packs a 5.2L twin-turbo V12 making 1,000 horsepower. BRABUS has reported a 0-to-62 mph time of 3.0 seconds and a top speed of 224 mph. Carbon fiber makes up much of the body, while 21-inch Monoblock Z-GT wheels, carbon-ceramic brakes, and a heavily customized interior finish off the package. It is a very different kind of car from the Ferraris already found in Swizz Beatz's collection.
Swizz Beatz has already spent some time behind the wheel of the BODO, so waiting for ComplexCon to wrap up probably wasn't the worst part of the weekend. Now that the first example is officially headed home, he can get back to driving it.
