Mercedes-Benz USA reported a strong Q2 2024 performance, with total sales rising by 27% from Q1, selling 95,596 vehicles. Its monumental growth highlights the continued demand for both Mercedes-Benz’s luxury and high-performance models. The core segment, which includes popular models like the GLC, E-Class, and CLE, was a major contributor, with the GLC achieving 17,491 units sold. Additionally, core segment sales increased by 12% compared to the same time last year.
In the top-end segment, there was a 5% increase in Q2 2024 compared to Q2 2023, with the GLS SUV seeing a significant 28% uptick in demand. The AMG lineup also saw a strong quarter, with sales up 28% from Q1, surpassing 13,061 units. Mercedes-Benz’s focus on electrification is obvious, as the EQB’s sales rose by an impressive 88% year-over-year. This increase aligns with the company’s expansion of its plug-in hybrid and fully electric vehicle lineup, including the upcoming GLC 350e and AMG SL 63e S.
The Vans division also had a positive quarter, with 10,934 units sold. The introduction of the all-new eSprinter, North America’s first fully electric van from Mercedes-Benz, has contributed 642 units to the year-to-date sales. With the anticipated launch of an all-electric G-Class in the fall, Mercedes-Benz continues to offer a diverse and ingenious range of cars and SUVs.
