To celebrate its 50th anniversary, the original uncoated version of the Chronograph 1 returns.
For as long as anyone can remember, watches have been synonymous with automobiles and motorsports, whether for their mechanical beauty or the precision of time that connects the worlds. Porsche plays a pivotal role in this bridge between two industries, manufacturing some of the fastest and most agile sports cars and the chronographs that help time their record-breaking laps. Porsche Design just launched the Chronograph 1 – 1975 Limited Edition for fans of both classic watches and iconic sports cars. For the first time ever, a titanium version of this historic timepiece is being offered outside of the exclusive Porsche car-owner circle. As part of the campaign, Porsche Ambassador Orlando Bloom joined in on the festivities with a photoshoot featuring an ultra-rare Porsche 964 911 Carrera RS America.

Limited to just 350 pieces worldwide, the new chronograph pays homage to the brushed stainless steel model released in 1975, a tribute to the original all-black Chronograph I from 1972. The design mirrors Porsche 911 dashboards with its matte-black dial, crisp white indices, red seconds hand, and tachymeter scale. The Chronograph 1 – 1975 Limited Edition uses the Porsche Design Caliber WERK 01.240 flyback automatic movement, visible through engravings on the solid caseback. The titanium bracelet is fully adjustable and fitted with the historic Porsche Design logo.

Each comes in a special limited-edition box, complete with a plaque featuring the same serial number as the watch and F. A. Porsche’s engraved signature. Whether you’re a die-hard Porsche fanatic or just love timeless watches with real significance, the Chronograph 1 – 1975 Limited Edition hits that sweet spot. With only 350 units in existence, expect them to disappear as fast as the cars that inspired them.
