Unique Red and White Porsche 918 Spyder at Miller Motorcars

Recently at Miller Motorcars in Greenwich, Connecticut was a special visitor: a Porsche 918 Spyder with the Weissach Package in a unique livery.

Typically, Porsche offers the 918 Spyder with standard and metallic paints, as well as wraps that include the Martini Racing and Salzburg Racing liveries. But, this example of Porsche’s hypercar has a primarily white finish with red racing stripes that flow from the side air vents behind the front wheels, over the rear wheel arches and into the tail lights. Matching the striping are the wheels and added aerodynamic body pieces included in the Weissach Package.

The paint was finished by Detailing Dynamics, a Mineola, New York, with some help from Finish Line Collision, a Long Island-based customization and body repair facility. Detailing Dynamics posted a photo to their Instagram account July 18 of the stunning 918, showing it prepping for the trip to Connecticut.

For those wanting to brush up on their 918 Spyder knowledge, here are some quick notes about the hypercar. Being a hybrid with two electric motors and a 4.6-liter V8, you’d think that it would be a heavy car. In fact, at 3,616-3,715 pounds, you might even think it needs to shave off a few pounds. But, this seemingly makes no difference to the performance. A heart-stopping 0-60 mph time of 2.8 seconds keeps you second guessing whether you’re actually driving a hybrid.

Porsche has designed the 918 to be one of the easiest track cars to drive. Electric assisted quick-ratio steering mated with a counter-steering system angles the rear wheels up to 3° to give the perfect turn. The driver can choose from four different driving modes: the innovative E (electric)-mode, Hybrid mode, Sport Hybrid mode and an extra Sport Hybrid mode that is activated by a dangerous little red button in the center console that lets out all the power on reserve.
