The rest of the 992.2-generation Porsche 911 family continues to join the dinner table. The base Carrera and the GTS T-Hybrid kicked things off last summer, while an updated GT3 and the Carrera T joined later in the year. Today, the 2025 Porsche 911 Carrera S Coupe and Cabriolet appear, boasting improved power figures, more standard equipment, and an elevated price tag.
Like its predecessor, the latest Porsche 911 Carrera S houses a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter flat-six. However, it is more powerful and efficient thanks to new turbos and an upgraded charge-air cooling system. Its output rises by 30 horsepower to 473 hp and 390 pound-feet of torque, while an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic is the only transmission offered. Tick the Sport Chrono Package option, and the Coupe will sprint to 60 mph in 3.1 seconds before topping out at 191 mph.
To complement its added pace, Porsche gave its latest S the larger brakes from the previous-gen Carrera GTS, now measuring 16 inches up front and 15 in out back. A set of staggered 20 and 21 wheels comes standard, as does Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus. This latest iteration also benefits from new dampers with updated hydraulics designed to improve ride quality while handling its added performance.
Like the outgoing model, Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes, PASM Sport Suspension, and rear-axle steering are optional extras.
Inside, the Porsche 911 Carrera S expands its standard leather upholstery, covering its seat headrests, upper dashboard, upper door panels, and rear seats. As with the base Carrera, the second row remains a no-cost extra for the S Coupe while they’re mandatory in the Cabriolet.
Its standard equipment list continues with Matrix LED headlights, a cooled wireless phone charger, and a drive-mode knob on its heated steering wheel. However, the Sport Chrono Package, front-axle lift, and abundant interior customization options are available as extras. An Exclusive Manufaktur Leather cabin can be selected, offering up to 48 possible combinations.
In step with its expanded standard equipment list, the 2025 Porsche 911 Carrera S receives a price increase. Including a $1,995 destination fee, the Coupe starts at $148,395, while the Cabriolet commands $161,595 before factoring options. The pair are currently available to order, with deliveries expected to begin later this Spring.
