With the 2023 Formula 1 season well underway, British carmaker Aston Martin has unveiled a limited edition variant of its DBX707 SUV to commemorate its performance in the sport. It’s called the AMR23, and the carmaker plans to build it in limited quantities, although it hasn’t stated how many and for how long.
Visual changes include a model-specific shade of Podium Green paint, contrasted by lime green accents on the SUV’s front splitter, side skirts, and rear diffuser. Its calipers are finished in Racing Green, while its 23-inch wheels feature the same Textured Black finish available for the standard 707. If this livery looks familiar, this season’s F1 medical car wears the same color combination, albeit with added lights on its roof.
The AMR23’s most significant updates live in its interior, featuring a two-tone Onyx Black and Eifel Green interior. While parts of its steering wheel feature Alcantara trim, the rest of the cabin is covered in leather as part of the carmaker’s Inspire Sport layout. Given its motorsport theme, it’s not surprising to see plenty of carbon-fiber trim on its paddle shifters and center console.
Under its bright paintwork, the AMR23 is mechanically identical to a standard DBX707. This means it’s still powered by a Mercedes-AMG sourced 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 producing 697 horsepower and 663 pound-feet of torque. All of which goes to four wheels via a nine-speed automatic transmission. Flat out, it’ll sprint to 60 mph in 3.1 seconds, topping out at 193 mph.
Aston Martin has yet to announce official pricing figures for the DBX707 AMR23. However, the carmaker has stated that this special variant is currently available to order. For context, a 2023 Aston Martin DBX707 starts at $239,086, including a hefty $3,086 destination fee. Expect this limited edition variant to carry a slight premium for its unique touches.
