Final LaFerrari Coupe to Benefit Earthquake Victims

One of the strongest earthquakes in recent history rocked northern Italy back on August 24th. Measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale, it leveled countless historic buildings and took the lives of several hundred people.Ā Only 499 examples of the LaFerrari were initially planned, but Chairman and CEO Sergio Marchionne has authorized production of anĀ additionalĀ coupe that will be sold to benefit those affected by the earthquake.(Related:Ā Why the Ferrari F40 Should be Part of your Collection)Volunteers from across Europe and the Red Cross are working day and night to help those affected get back on their feet, so expect to see a bidding war for the rights to car #500. Similarly, Ferrari only built 399 examples of the Enzo with car #400 being reserved for the Pope. The Vatican recently sold the car and used the proceeds for the Church's humanitarian efforts around the world. It was a sensation at Monterey last year as we watched RM Sotheby's hammer it for over six million dollars. Our thoughts go out to those affected by this tragedy, and if you are interested in helping please contact the Red Cross for more information.LaFerrari For Sale

Ferrari Unveils All 70th Anniversary Models

To celebrate 70 years of Ferrari, the Italian brand is doing something remarkably special: creating 70 special edition cars, each paying an homage to the brand's history.(Related -Ā Report: All Ferraris to Have Hybrid Tech by 2019)From the website detailing the models: "Seventy exclusive liveries, each created just the once for every car in the current range, blend the past with the future to create the icons of tomorrow. The inspiration comes from extraordinary models such as the 375 MM Pinin Farina Berlinetta that Roberto Rossellini ordered for Ingrid Bergman. This car was so unique and elegant as to give its name to the colour the Director picked for its exterior, ā€œGrigio Ingridā€."Each of these cars come with a special 70th-anniversary commemorative logo, as well as an ID plate that provides the name of the model that inspired the design of each car. Below are just a few of the models they have created, along with their respective descriptions. You can view all of the cars by clicking here. All Ferrari For Sale1947 - 1956 The Fangio "The 290 MM was built for Argentinian race legend Juan Manuel Fangio to be driven at the 1956 Mille Miglia, a thrilling race that ended with four Ferraris taking the first four places. The car had a racing livery that incorporated the blue and yellow colors of the Argentinian flag."1957-1966 The Surtees "Racing legend John Surtees drove his F1 158 to victory, earning the title of World Champion in 1964. In fact, he competed in the USA and Mexico with this unusual livery as the cars were not entered by the Italian factory themselves, but by the US-based NART team. This was an act of protest concerning arguments between Ferrari and the Italian Racing Authorities regarding the homologation of a new mid-engine Ferrari race car."1967-1976 The Lauda "This is the 1975 312 T that Niki Lauda drove to victory. Lauda won 4 out of 5 races mid-season before snatching the title at Monza by finishing third, whilst Clay Regazzoni’s win in that race secured Ferrari’s Constructors’ Championship. It has a red body, while its air scoop sports the Italian flag."1977-1996 The Magnum PI "This is certainly one of television’s most infamous cars, the 308 GTS (1980), equipped with a transversely mid-mounted aluminum V8 engine, driven by Tom Selleck in his role as Magnum PI. It was unforgettable in Ferrari red with camel leather interiors. The Ferrari 308 were used throughout the history of the show, and the models included the 308 GTS, the 308 GTSi and the 308 GTS Quattrovalvole."1997-2006 The Schumacher "The unforgettable F1 driven by legend Michael Schumacher in 2003. With the F2003-GA, Schumacher obtained 7 victories and drove the car to win both the Driver’s and the Constructor’s Championship."2007-2016 Plein Air Pleasure "The 2010 SA Aperta, was a limited edition roadster created to celebrate the 80 years of collaboration between Ferrari and Pininfarina. Its bright blue exterior and black and blue interiors perfectly express the joys of open-top driving and being at one with the sky."

Report: All Ferraris to Have Hybrid Tech by 2019

Fans of everything naturally aspirated and Ferraris may not like this news, but it looks like the Italian automaker is going full steam ahead with hybrid technology.Ferrari For Sale Houston, TexasIn a November 8 article from Automotive News, Marchionne was reported as saying that "all Ferraris sold from 2019 will have some hybrid elements." Yes, this means you're going to be hard-pressed to find a naturally aspirated Ferrari after 2018. Does this mean that hybrid-less Ferrari may see a jump in price in the coming years? Only time will tell, but this could be similar to how manual transmission Ferraris are so hard to come by.(Related -Ā Jay Leno Drives David Lee's Epic Ferrari Supercar Collection)Additionally, the article touches on the amount of cars Ferrari hopes to ship. What's more, he also notes that they could sell more than 10,000 by 2025.From this article, it looks like Ferrari is willing to ship more cars to their customers and put a major focus on hybrid technology. Ferrari's Historic Supercar of the 1950's Goes for a Rare...

Piero Taruffi was appointed by Enzo Ferrari to drive the 1952 Ferrari 340 Spider by Vignale in the Mille Miglia in 1952. Being Ferrari's top driver, he was the best choice to drive the automaker's "supercar." This very car would go on to compete after the Mille Miglia, racing in the 24 Hours of Le Mans and Targa Florio.(Classic Cars For Sale)Now, more than half of a century later, the car is making itself known again. Purchased by Michael Stehle, the 340 Spider has been filmed beautifully thanks to Petrolicious.Ā ā€œI searched for a car to compete in the Mille Miglia. It was quite a long process to find the right car…so I searched, but there was one problem, how to convince my wife?ā€ said Michael Stehle in the video's description. ā€œI convinced her to come with me…I showed her the carā€¦ā€˜Wait, wait, let’s start the engine’— ā€˜OK, you can start the engine’,ā€ she said back.Ā After hearing the car, she gave the okay to make the purchase. In January, at Bonham's Scottsdale auction, the 340 Spider will be making another appearance as it crosses the block, looking for a new owner. Who will drive away with this history race car? Who knows, but we will surely hear about its hammer price when the time comes. In the meantime, check out the video below. All Ferrari For Sale

Ferrari Not Making Anymore Manual Cars

The last time you could order a manual Ferrari was when the first version of the California was released. That was years ago. Today, we see no mention of a manual Ferrari and that's for good reason.Motoring.com.au recently had an interview with Michael Hugo Leiter, Ferrari's CTO. HeĀ told them:Ā ā€œFerrari is design, performance and state of the art technologies. There’s no manual transmission that can beat this performance and therefore we have decided to stay on the double-clutch gearbox.ā€(Related -Ā What it's Like Dyno Testing a Tuned Ferrari 488 GTB)Leiter also went on to say that the total manual order for the California was around three to five examples. If you're Ferrari, you'd most certainly draw the conclusion that customers were not interested in manual cars after seeing the low order amount. However, there is a positive spin here for a the lucky few who have recent manual Ferraris in their possession. With the news of manuals not coming back to Ferraris, this will most certainly raise the asking price for the more recent Prancing Horse's with a stick shift. So if you happen upon one for a decent price, it may not be a bad idea to snatch it up.View All Ferraris For Sale Related Video:

Yellow LaFerrari Feature

Final Production US Spec LaFerrari

If you happened to be in Lexington, Kentucky over the weekend, you might have seen the last LaFerrari built for the US. Only 499 cars were produced, so we're glad a few of them made it here. One discerning collector has a passion for yellow, so this car is probably the only example in this color combination. A two-tone yellow and red interior along with signatures from the assembly line workers are just a few of the unique features. The LaFerrari is the culmination of years of development in Formula1 racing. Combining a 6.3L V12 with a hybrid electric drive, it produces 963 hp and 664 lb-ft of torque. (View Complete Laferrari Specs Here) Our friend Tanner Mashburn, of Music City Motor Cars, has a keen eye for rare exotics, and he was quick to realize the significance of this car. From the "Last Produced" emblem on the steering wheel to the Italian flag pinstripes on the nose, it is a stunning example of what Maranello is capable of. Each car sold for over a million dollars, and we would like to see what these options added to the window sticker.Ā After winning an award for "Future Collectible", we probably won't see it in public for a while.
