Dodge Evolves The Muscle Car With 2027 Charger Updates

A range of available powertrains and body styles characterize the eighth-generation 2027 Dodge Charger.

Dodge transformed its iconic Charger model recently, reintroducing it to the automotive world with two and four-door body styles, as well as with electric and combustion-powered variants. The first to hit the road was the coupe with the Daytona all-electric powertrain, and as the 2027 model year begins, the SIXPACK engines are emerging for the lineup, as well.

A 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine, the SIXPACK is twin-turbocharged, and in the new 2027 Dodge Charger R/T, it boasts the most standard horsepower of any muscle car: 420 horsepower. With that power, along with 468 lb/ft of torque, which is 50 more horsepower and 73 more lb/ft than the previous generation Dodge Charger R/T with the 5.7-liter V8 engine, the R/T achieves a 12.9-second quarter-mile, and 0-60 in 4.6 seconds.

Meanwhile, the Dodge Charger Scat Pack features the SIXPACK H.O. engine, the most powerful Hurricane engine currently in production, with 550 horsepower 531 lb/ft of torque. It will do 0-60 in 3.9 seconds and a 12.2-second quarter-mile. Its power is a 65-horsepower and 56-lb/ft increase compared to the previous generation Scat Pack, which featured a 6.4-liter HEMI engine. Both of the SIXPACK-powered Dodge Charger models have standard all-wheel drive with on-demand rear-wheel drive for added excitement.

The all-electric Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack is the most powerful in the lineup, with 670 horsepower and 627 lb/ft of torque. It gets from 0-60 in 3.3 seconds, completes a quarter-mile in 11.5 seconds, and features up to 267 miles of driving range. New for 2027, the Dodge Charger lineup features Petrol Blue performance leather upholstery with Digital Slash perforation and red stitching for Scat Pack cars, an optional Satin Black painted hood, orange and black brake calipers, added graphics, and more.

Open for orders now, the 2027 Dodge Charger lineup represents an exciting evolution of the iconic American muscle car, with 2027 model-year vehicles set to arrive at dealerships in the third quarter of 2026.
