Dodge Revives The 392 V8 With The New Durango R/T

The iconic 392 HEMI V8 is now standard for the Durango R/T.

The new 2026 Dodge Durango R/T is not only bringing back the iconic 392-cubic-inch HEMI V8 engine, but for the first time ever, the engine is now standard for the Durango R/T. With 475 horsepower and 470 lb/ft of torque, the new 2026 Dodge Durango R/T 392 Launch Edition boasts an increase in power and torque by 32 percent and 21 percent, respectively, compared to the 2025 model year. With standard all-wheel drive and a rear-wheel drive-based architecture, it’s able to get from 0-60 in 4.4 seconds, a quicker time than the 2025’s 6.2, and the NHRA has certified its quarter-mile time, which is just 12.9 seconds.

Adding to its performance character is standard features like an adaptive damping suspension, Brembo brakes, an electronic limited-slip rear axle, performance exhaust, SRT driving modes, and more. Practicality comes in the form of a towing capacity of 8,700 pounds, and the top speed of the new Durango R/T 392 Launch Edition is 160 mph.

Design features include body-colored flares, red “392” badging, 20-inch Satin Carbon wheels, the new Green Machine exterior color, a Nappa leather and suede interior, stripe options, and more. With an MSRP of $57,595 for the new 2026 Dodge Durango R/T 392 Launch Edition Premium, which adds carbon fiber options, an 18-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, and more, an iconic and powerful 6.4-liter V8 engine returns to an iconic performance nameplate.
