With 387 cars in total crossing their block between Aug. 13 and 15, Mecum reached a total sales amount of $44,335,001, as an Aug. 19 press release from the auction house tells us. Seven cars alone brought in $10,225,000, with each individually selling for more than $1 million - with five of those sales happening on Saturday, Aug. 15, alone.
The top sale from Mecum's event was a 1969 Lamborghini Miura P400 S for $2.3 million, while a 1970 Plymouth Hemi Cuda Convertible wasn't far behind at $2.25 million. One of the most anticipated lots, Steve McQueen's Porsche 930 Turbo Carrera, sold for $1.95 million. A portion of the sale of McQueen's Porsche is being donated to The Boys Republic - read more in our June 10 article.
