One of the main challenges of rock crawling is choosing the perfect line. In the old days, 4WD trucks had "granny" gears that would offer gear reductions of over 60:1. This allowed the engine to idle up a mountain without input from the gas pedal. Although the Raptor has the latest in 10-speed automatics, granny gears are hated by the EPA. So Ford has the answer to perfect crawling, an off-road cruise control system.
In a press release this morning, a YouTube video shows the capabilities of the system. Dial-in your speed from 1 to 20 mph and the Trail Control sends torque where it is needed to keep your momentum. Our dealers have a few already, so click the link below to find your Raptor
