Hennessey's $2.5M Blackbird Hypercar Sells Out in Just Four Hours

Hennessey's $2.5M Blackbird Hypercar Sells Out in Just Four Hours

Monterey Car Week has become more than a gathering of incredible cars. It’s also one of the best places to get a look at where the automotive world is headed, with manufacturers and bespoke builders using events like The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering to show off what’s next. This year, Hennessey brought something that looked firmly toward the future while taking a few cues from the past. The Hennessey Blackbird made its global public debut at The Quail, and it didn’t take long for collectors to make their interest known. Just four hours after the reveal, all 71 examples of the new Hennessey hypercar had been spoken for, with every car contracted and backed by a deposit. More than 60 had already been pre-sold before Monterey Car Week even started, leaving only a handful of allocations available when the covers came off. Those final build slots disappeared shortly after the unveiling, while a growing wait list has already formed behind them. With the Blackbird, Hennessey has focused on making the driver the center of the experience. The cabin is completely screen-free, while a six-speed manual transmission connects the driver directly to an all-new naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V8 developed with Ilmor Engineering. Hennessey is targeting between 800 and 850 horsepower, with the engine expected to rev past 9,000 rpm. Performance targets include a 0-60 mph time of 2.5 seconds and a top speed of 220 mph. With a starting price of $2.5 million before taxes, the Blackbird was never going to be an ordinary addition to the garage. It also marks the third hypercar from Hennessey Special Vehicles, following the Venom GT and Venom F5. But the speed at which the Blackbird sold out suggests its popularity goes beyond exclusivity. At a time when many of the world’s fastest cars are becoming increasingly tech-driven, Hennessey has bet that there is still a serious market for a naturally aspirated V8, manual transmission, and an experience built around actually driving the car. Monterey Car Week gave collectors the perfect place to prove it and put a deposit on it. Source: Hennessey Special Vehicles

Hennessey's New 1,000HP MAXIMUS Is Inspired by the Ram SRT-10

By Jordan Aquistapace –  August 06, 2026

Hennessey's New 1,000HP MAXIMUS Is Inspired by the Ram SRT-10

It seems like now, more than ever, performance trucks have become one of the industry's most competitive segments, with nearly every major manufacturer building a high-powered pickup of its own. And while trucks like the supercharged RAM 1500 TRX helped reignite mainstream interest in the niche, it's earlier icons like the Dodge Ram SRT-10 that deserve the credit for pushing the boundaries when no one else really was. As RAM revealed the 1500 Rumble Bee series as an homage to its roots, Hennessey Performance is doing the same with the all-new MAXIMUS.  Rather than adding another high-horsepower off-road build to their lineup, Hennessey is tapping into the beloved street-truck scene with the MAXIMUS, based on the 777-horsepower Rumble Bee SRT. Although its DNA remains strictly modern, inspiration leans heavily on the Viper V10-powered Ram SRT-10, along with Hennessey creations like the Venom 650R Viper. MAXIMUS’ lowered, more aggressive stance and widened wheel arches, massive fixed rear wing, lightweight wheels, and performance tires make it the perfect evolution of what we all believed was one of the coolest trucks of the mid-2000s.RAM gave Hennessey a great start point when it comes to performance, powering the Rumble Bee SRT with a 777-horsepower 6.2L supercharged Hellcat V8. From there, Hennessey Performance performs its magic from its Texas headquarters, upgrading engine components and tuning the ECU to make an impressive 1,000 horsepower. And with a lowered ride height and plenty of downforce, the Hennessey MAXIMUS has an estimated top speed of 200mph.  With a pre-production model complete and road-ready, Hennessey Performance will begin production at the beginning of Q1 2027. Hennessey Unveils The New Manual Blackbird Hypercar

Hennessey Unveils New Blackbird Hypercar

Hennessey has enjoyed a meteoric rise as an all-American high-performance specialist, going from creating modified Dodge Vipers to breaking world records with its stunning hypercars, and still unlocking incredible power and performance potential in staple American sports cars, trucks, and SUVs. When it comes to Hennessey’s hypercars, however, the story so far is that the Venom GT and the Venom F5 have combined American high-performance V8 brawn with ultra-lightweight, racing-focused construction to shatter the world’s standards of speed and performance. Even after breaking lap records and defying conventions with its use of a twin-turbo V8 alone, the Venom F5 has only continued to push the engineering envelope. Recently, the Venom F5 “Evolution” introduced a new 2,031-horsepower twin-turbo V8 engine, and at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, Hennessey unveiled the new Venom F5-M, a manual roadster Venom F5 with the 2,031-horsepower engine, which makes it the most powerful manual hypercar in the world. Only twelve examples of the masterpiece will be made, each priced from $2.65 million. Now, the cherished Texas-based performance powerhouse is opening yet another chapter in its hypercar legacy, and it’s an all-new model that marks the third Hennessey hypercar in the lineage since the Venom GT and the Venom F5. It’s called the Blackbird, and it represents a commitment from Hennessey to analog and purist-focused collector-worthy hypercars. It not only features a six-speed gated manual transmission, but it also features a new naturally aspirated V8 engine. <- Gallery -> Its namesake is the legendary Lockheed SR-71 “Blackbird” aircraft, and the new Hennessey Blackbird is inspired by the aircraft’s purposeful-yet-beautiful design and engineering authenticity. A purist, analog alternative to an increasingly high-tech and electrified hypercar landscape, the new Hennessey Blackbird features a 6.2-liter, naturally aspirated V8 engine, developed in collaboration with Ilmor Engineering. Targeting between 800 and 850 horsepower, the Blackbird is decidedly touring-focused in comparison to its earth-shattering counterparts. Despite that, the Blackbird is no slouch. Its engine aims to rev to a lofty 9,000 rpm, with a targeted 0-60 time of just 2.5 seconds, and it will hit a top speed of 220 mph. With a new bespoke carbon fiber tub, a targeted weight of under 3,000 pounds, several driver-focused features, and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires are part of the promise of a gratifying driving experience for the new Hennessey Blackbird. About the new Blackbird, Hennessey founder and CEO John Hennessey said, “From the beginning, Blackbird was guided by a simple idea: to deliver an analog experience where beauty and drama define every moment. This is not a numbers car. We set out to create an unparalleled emotional experience, from the first time you see it to the moment you take the wheel and feel the connection between driver and machine.” Hennessey says that production of the Venom F5 is set to conclude by 2028, and that the Blackbird will be the next cornerstone program for Hennessey Special Vehicles. With a new touring-focused approach to its design and an analog, purist-focused ethos that will speak to generations of drivers, enthusiasts, and collectors to come, the new manual, naturally aspirated Hennessey Blackbird hypercar is a legend in the making. The New Hennessey Venom F5-M Is The World’s Most Powerful Manual Hypercar

By Tyler Rampersaud –  July 06, 2026

Hennessey Unveils World’s Most Powerful Manual Hypercar

When it was first introduced, the Hennessey Venom F5 sent shockwaves through the automotive industry with its unprecedented performance and engineering. With over 1,800 horsepower coming from a twin-turbo V8 alone, the Venom F5 set a target of reaching a 300-mph top speed and also looked towards other performance crowns, especially as more variants of the all-American hypercar icon were revealed. However, a new chapter was opened for the Texas-grown hypercar recently, as the “Evolution” variant of the Hennessey Venom F5 introduced a new level of power, giving the car 2,031 horsepower from its 6.6-liter twin-turbo “Fury” V8 engine. Now, ahead of the Goodwood Festival of Speed, Hennessey has announced that the Evolution’s immense level of power has been combined with one of the most important purist-focused features a car can have, and the new Hennessey Venom F5-M is the most powerful manual hypercar in the world. Not only does the new Venom F5-M combine over 2,000 horsepower with a manual transmission, specifically a gated six-speed manual, but it also comes with the Roadster body style, adding visceral open-top driving thrill to the equation. The new hypercar will make its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed’s Supercar Paddock, and it will also take on the iconic Goodwood Hillclimb twice a day throughout the four days of the festival. With professional racing driver Alex Brundle behind the wheel, the hill runs will be the dynamic debut of one of the most exciting, purist-focused, and unabashed expressions of all-American performance ever. <- Gallery -> About the new hypercar, Hennessey founder and CEO, John Hennessey, said, “We’ve always believed the Venom F5 delivers the most intense performance experience on the planet – but with the F5-M, we’ve gone even further. A gated six-speed manual puts the driver completely in control, while the open-top design brings the Fury V8 sound directly into the cockpit. The noise, the feel, and the power delivery are raw and unfiltered – it’s the most all-consuming driving experience we’ve created!” Unique design elements set the new Venom F5-M apart, as well, including a 55-inch dorsal fin, with hand-painted flag graphics that celebrate Hennessey’s American heritage and the owner’s British nationality, as well as an interior that is dedicated to the manual driving experience. Only 12 examples of the new Venom F5-M Roadster will be made, and each will be bespoke. The first, debuting at Goodwood, belongs to a UK customer, and it utilized Hennessey’s ‘Maverick’ bespoke department to add special touches like a 24-karat gold nose badge, as well as badging and embroidery with his family name. Carrying a price of $2.65 million before taxes, the new Hennessey Venom F5-M Roadster sets new standards in the world of hypercars, combining over 2,000 horsepower from a 6.6-liter twin-turbo V8, unassisted by electrification, with an open-top body and a manual transmission. The result is one of the most exclusive, collector-worthy, and enthusiast-catered hypercars of all time, powered by all-American performance engineering. Hennessey Expands Texas Factory to Boost Hypercar, Muscle...

Hennessey has broken ground on a major expansion at its Texas headquarters to keep up with rising demand for its hypercars, muscle cars, and high-performance trucks. The $15+ million project will more than double the size of the company’s facility to over 100,000 square feet, allowing production to increase to around 2,000 vehicles a year. Scheduled to open in spring 2026, the new space will also bring painting and composite manufacturing in-house, streamlining the process for builds like the Venom F5 hypercar and upfitted trucks such as the VelociRaptor 1000 and Venom 800. The company has been steadily growing its output in recent years. After building and delivering over 560 vehicles in 2024, Hennessey expects production to reach 900 in 2025 and more than 1,300 in 2026. The expansion will also add up to 80 new jobs by the end of 2026. Along with the factory growth, Hennessey’s Tuner School, a program that trains technicians in performance engineering, will gain its own 10,000-square-foot building, giving students more space for both classroom instruction and hands-on learning. Based just outside of Houston in Sealy, Texas, Hennessey has grown from a small performance shop into a global name with over 18,000 customers. Its vehicles are available through a network of Ford, Ram, Chevrolet, and GMC dealers, where buyers can purchase upgraded trucks and SUVs directly off showroom floors. With this new facility, the company is preparing to keep pace with demand while continuing to build the vehicles it has become known for. Source: Hennessey Special Vehicles

New One-Off 2,031HP Manual Hennessey Venom F5 Revolution ...

This one-off may well be the greatest expression of Hennessey engineering excellence yet. Hennessey is proudly one of the world’s final bastions of unabashed American performance engineering, with a lineup of pure combustion-powered custom vehicles with incredible performance, and a series of hypercars that have redefined the benchmarks of high performance not only for American cars, but for the automotive industry as a whole. Thanks to its lightweight construction, purely speed-focused engineering, and its 6.6-liter twin-turbo “Fury” V8 engine, the Hennessey Venom F5 is one of the most incredible hypercars currently on the market. The Hennessey Venom F5 family continues to grow, with an open-top variant, a further-distilled track-focused variant, a manual version, and more. However, a new chapter was previewed when Hennessey announced that a new Venom F5 “Evolution” was on the way. With 2,031 horsepower on tap, the capabilities of the Fury engine, which were already incredible before, became simply unfathomable in the case of the new F5 Evolution. Now, Hennessey is creating its most captivating purist-focused hypercar yet, a new one-off variant of the Venom F5 Revolution dubbed the “LF.” The new hypercar has also heralded the establishment of Hennessey’s new “Maverick” division, a new outfit within the iconic house that specializes in creating painstaking, uncompromising bespoke customer commissions. The new Venom F5 Revolution LF is named after its owner, Louis Florey, who specified even the most minute details when it came to commissioning the new masterpiece, including a unique aerodynamic package and a body clad in Cocoa Brown exposed carbon fiber. With an all-new carbon fiber tub, the LF combines the Evolution’s 2,031-horsepower twin-turbo V8 engine with the track-focused aspects of the F5 Revolution and the open-top body style of the Hennessey Venom F5 Roadster. With those aspects coming together, the Venom F5 Revolution LF is already the most unique Venom F5 yet, but it’s one other detail that makes it one of the most special hypercars in today’s automotive landscape: a six-speed gated manual transmission. With the LF being the first car to emerge from the new Maverick division, future builds will see a select number of Hennessey clients get the opportunity to work directly with the manufacturer to create deeply personal and unique Venom F5 builds that will stand the test of time as collector gems for generations, and with Monterey Car Week serving as the venue for the public debut of the new production-spec Hennessey Venom F5 Evolution, an exciting new era is beginning for the brand as a whole.
