The New Koenigsegg CCGT1 Pays Homage To The CCGT

By Tyler Rampersaud –  August 13, 2026

Koenigsegg Unveils The New CCGT1

When Koenigsegg was first established as a manufacturer, its founder, Christian von Koenigsegg, had endurance racing ambitions. The first Koenigsegg supercar prototypes were built with Le Mans racing regulations in mind, aiming to race in the iconic GT1 class, and the eventual CC8S and CCR stuck to that formula. However, after those came about, the actual racing project was the CCGT. Christian von Koenigsegg worked with Dag Bölenius to create the CCGT, and the result was a car that weighed only 1,000 kilograms, well under the 1,100-kilogram weight limit for the class, with a 5.0-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine with 600 horsepower, and aerodynamics that offered 600 kilograms of downforce. However, as soon as the CCGT was built, FIA’s regulations for GT1 racing changed to only allow higher volume production cars, and only one CCGT was made, never to be raced competitively. The car was eventually sold to an owner who kept it for fifteen years before it was sold again in 2024 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Under a new US-based custodian, the CCGT was refurbished by Koenigsegg’s Legend Division, and looks forward to a future racing in the GT1 historic class against the cars it would have shared a grid with in decades past. <- Gallery -> That brings us to today, and specifically to Monterey Car Week 2026, where Koenigsegg has just unveiled a new masterpiece that pays homage to the CCGT: the CCGT1. Similar in premise to the CC850, unveiled a few Car Weeks ago as a tribute to the CC8S, the new CCGT1 is based on the CC850, transforming the concept of the CCGT into a road-legal, homologated Megacar. Powered by Koenigsegg’s twin-turbo V8 engine, with 1,280 horsepower on standard fuel and 1,600 horsepower on E85 biofuel, the CCGT1 features added cooling for track performance, and delivers a GT1 experience with a 9-speed Koenigsegg Light Speed transmission that has a clutch pedal for take-off and a sequential shifter with ignition cut. The innovative six-speed gated shifter from the CC850 is also an option. The car features an optional factory track package, with slick tires, a carbon fiber roll cage, racing seats, air jacks, data logging, and other features, making the new CCGT1 the fastest Koenigsegg yet around the track. Its design features a massive rear wing, visually and functionally reminiscent of GT1 racing supercars, with a low-drag setting for straights, an air-brake mode, and a high-downforce mode for cornering. Showcased in white carbon fiber, the new Koenigsegg CCGT1 nods to the Trevita project of 2009, which introduced white carbon fiber to the industry. The result of years of development with a painstaking manufacturing process, the Trevita project was short lived. It returns on the CCGT1, this time named “Ghost Fibre,” developed from the ground up to be more protective, have sound deadening properties, and be lighter than traditional carbon fiber-only body panels. About the latest creation, Christian von Koenigsegg said, “The CCGT1 offers something compelling to the weekend racer who also wants a daily driver with genuine extended capability on track. That’s what our optional track package allows. Fit it for race day through your local Koenigsegg dealer, and the character changes completely - from an exceptional weekend tourer with respectable track credentials into a true circuit weapon.” Only 70 examples of the CCGT1 were allotted, and all of them were spoken for before the car made its public debut. Nodding to the story of a 2000s racing myth, the new Koenigsegg CCGT1 is a triumphant return to circuit prowess for Koenigsegg. View All Koenigsegg For Sale Image Source: Koenigsegg

Koenigsegg's First V8 Client Gemera Breaks Cover at the Aurora Concours in Sweden

By Khris Bharath –  June 28, 2026

Koenigsegg's First V8 Client Gemera Breaks Cover at the Aurora Concours in Sweden

Three years after Koenigsegg confirmed a V8-powered version of its four-seat Gemera, the first customer example has finally been showcased in public. The hypercar maker unveiled the car this weekend at the Aurora Concours in Båstad, Sweden, finished in a vivid Johan Röd paint over Engel Svart leather and Alcantara with red stitching accents. This particular client, Gemera, is equipped with the full Crystal Clear sound system, bespoke red-tinted Ghosts on the Aircore seats, and rides on Trofast Aircore carbon wheels. The powertrain pairs a mid-mounted twin-turbocharged 5.0-liter hot V8 with Koenigsegg's Dark Matter electric motor via the brand's nine-speed Lightspeed Tourbillon Transmission (LSTT), a four-wheel torque-vectoring system that can send power independently to each wheel. Combined output is 2,300 horsepower, with a sub-2.0-second dash to 60 mph and a top speed in excess of 240 mph. The Gemera was the cover car in a feature we did last year on the most powerful production cars in the world. <- Gallery -> "Today is a big milestone for Koenigsegg, as we roll out the most technically advanced and most ambitious program in our history." - Christian von Koenigsegg, Founder, CEO, Koenigsegg The Gemera realizes a dream von Koenigsegg has held for decades, a proper four-seat, high-performance supercar capable of seating four two-meter adults in comfort with room for luggage. The idea traces back to his childhood, when he first saw his friend's father's Lotus Excel.  According to von Koenigsegg, the Gemera itself began taking shape in the mid-2000s, long before its eventual reveal. It first broke cover in 2020 with three electric motors and a tiny twin-turbo three-cylinder engine, and we’ve followed the story from its evolving design phase to its first driveable prototype testing phase in 2022. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Christian von Koenigsegg (@heycvk)   The production-spec hybrid version was revised in 2023 to employ Koenigsegg's single Dark Matter motor, lifting output to 1,400 horsepower, and news that the V8 variant was on the production line surfaced earlier this year in March. Production of the Gemera is capped at 300 units, a ceiling set at the car's original 2020 unveiling. Koenigsegg has confirmed all 300 build slots are already accounted for. Original pricing started from $1.7 million, though the industry estimates have placed fully specified V8 examples well above $2 million. For a company that has built its reputation on low-volume, two-seat hypercars, the four-seat Gemera represents a significant departure, one that doesn’t compromise on the brand’s core principles of high-performance speed and design details like the signature dihedral synchro-helix doors, now being offered in a more usable package as a Mega GT. This 327,906-Piece LEGO Koenigsegg Hypercar Set A World Record

By Jordan Aquistapace –  June 18, 2026

This 327,906-Piece LEGO Koenigsegg Hypercar Set A World Record

In 2025, Christian von Koenigsegg and his team set a new record-breaking lap at the Goodwood Festival of Speed Hill Climb, securing a blistering time of 47.14 seconds in the Timed Shootout with its 1,625-horsepower Sadair's Spear hypercar. Alongside the debut of its newest small-scale, buildable collaboration with LEGO, Koenigsegg set out on yet another record-breaking journey, this time, behind the wheel of a full-scale LEGO build of the Sadair’s Spear. With a little help from automotive YouTuber Mr JWW, Koenigsegg and LEGO traveled to the Goodwood House and Estate in West Sussex, England, to document its efforts at claiming the world record for the fastest LEGO Technic car ever built.  The 1-of-1 LEGO Koenigsegg was constructed by hand using 327,906 Technic pieces, which required more than 9,400 hours of assembly time, without any directions, mind you. And while you may assume that this is just a fragile build that deserves a display space in a museum, roped off with “no touching” signs, it’s actually fully functional and even comes equipped with Koenigsegg’s signature ‘Ghost Mode’. At the push of a button, the mirrors fold, doors open, and front and rear hoods lift to reveal all the nooks and crannies, mirroring the exact movements of the multi-million dollar Sadair’s Spear. When it came to choosing a driver to pilot the build to a world record victory, there was no better choice than the man who set the record himself at Goodwood for Koenigsegg in 2025, factory test driver Markus Lundh. The only caveat behind the attempt was that Lundh would be tackling the hill climb backwards, racing downhill on a course that's traditionally run in the opposite direction. After navigating a few tight corners with some tire screeching and finding strength in the straights, the LEGO Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear broke the world record for fastest LEGO Technic car with a top speed of 69 mph (111 km/h). GALLERY-EMBED If you’d like to take on the challenge of building your very own version of the Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear, in a much smaller scale with far fewer pieces, LEGO will be launching the Koenigsegg Sadair's Spear Megacar build set on its website on July 4th. Check back into duPont REGISTRY on launch day for more upcoming info on how to buy the newest collaboration release from Koenigsegg and LEGO. Learn More Source: Koenigsegg/LEGO Technic

Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut Sets New Production Car Top Speed Records Over the Quarter-Mile and Half-Mile

By Khris Bharath –  June 15, 2026

Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut Sets Multiple Production Car Records

Koenigsegg’s Factory test driver Markus Lundh piloted the Jesko Absolut to two new all-out production car top speed records on June 6, 2026, at the brand’s home airfield in Ängelholm, Sweden, the former Swedish Air Force facility where the hypercar maker has operated since 2003. The results were verified by Racelogic using industry-standard VBOX equipment.  Over the quarter-mile, the Absolut recorded 8.54 seconds at 190 mph. Over the half-mile, it ran 12.76 seconds at 232 mph, extending the standing half-mile top speed record of 13.27 seconds at 232 mph and the 0-250-0 mph world record it reclaimed previously, both of which duPont REGISTRY covered in May last year. Both represent the fastest top speeds ever recorded for a production car at those distances, and mark the first time in history a production car has exceeded 300 km/h or 186 mph over the quarter-mile. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Christian von Koenigsegg (@heycvk)   For context, the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X set a quarter-mile elapsed time of 8.67 seconds at 159 mph in January 2026, on a prepped surface with all-wheel drive. The runs were completed on an unprepped surface, on production tires, with power going to the rear wheels only, removing the variables that allow most record attempts to be questioned on grounds of preparation or specification.  What makes this latest run particularly notable is how new software advancements made the records possible, and Koenigsegg is rolling them out via over-the-air update to all Jesko Absolut owners. Every car in the fleet receives the same capability that produced these results without a factory visit.  The Jesko Absolut was introduced at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show with a theoretical top speed claim of 330 mph, the highest stated figure ever announced for a production car. That number remains unverified in a controlled record attempt, but the Ängelholm results demonstrate that the car's real-world performance at speed is not disconnected from its engineering ambitions.  Power comes from a twin-turbocharged 5.0-liter V8 producing 1,600 horsepower on E85, routed through Koenigsegg's proprietary Light Speed Transmission, a nine-speed unit capable of shifting to any gear simultaneously rather than sequentially. Production is limited to 125 units, all of which will now receive this software update. View All Koenigseggs For Sale  Images: Koenigsegg

Koenigsegg Kicks Off Its 2026 Ghost Squadron Tour with 20+ Hypercars

Koenigsegg Kicks Off Its 2026 Ghost Squadron Tour with 20+ Hypercars

Widely recognized as a common misconception, but unfortunate in some instances, hypercars do not always spend their lives tucked away in collections where odometer anxiety outweighs the thrill of actually driving and enjoying the experience firsthand. Even though history has and continues to prove that these ultra-exclsuive cars do gain notoriety and soar in value among the collector car world, it's the new breed of hypercar leaders, the people whose cars actually bear their names, that push and motivate owners to get behind the wheel. Christian Von Koenigsegg is one of those innovative believers that hypercars are best enjoyed on the track and open roads where they belong, which is why he and the brand continue to organize The Koenigsegg Ghost Squadron Tour. Gaining popularity among owners since 2016, previously rebranded from the Koenigsegg Owners Tour, the Koenigsegg Ghost Squadron Tour is celebrating its tenth year, kicking off its 2026 event in Mallorca, Spain. The annual rally features a week of fuel-driven festivities geared toward Koenigsegg hypercars and their owners, curating scenic drives, time on the track, and other luxurious experiences along the way. This year, with Christian Von Koenigsegg leading the pack in his limited-production CC850, more than 20+ cars have joined the Ghost Squadron Tour. It's almost a rolling timeline of the marque’s history, bringing together iconic hypercars like the Agera, Regera, Jesko, Jesko Absolut, and CC850, along with all their bespoke, performance variants. Starting off day one with a gathering at the marina in Mallorca, the group set off on a scenic convoy across the island’s most beautiful routes, with stops in Es Guix and Port de Sóller. And while you may lose sight of the fleet when they enter the twisting roads of the mountains, you most definitely can hear them as their monstrous V8s roll through the gears. If one day joining The Koenigsegg Ghost Squadron Tour is a dream of yours, check out all the Koenigsegg hypercars now for sale on duPont REGISTRY by clicking the link below.  All Koenigsegg Inventory GALLERY-EMBED Source: Koenigsegg Instagram

Koenigsegg’s 2,300-HP Four-Seater Hypercar Is Almost Here

By Jordan Aquistapace –  March 25, 2026

Koenigsegg’s 2,300-HP Four-Seater Hypercar Is Almost Here

New supercars and hypercars debut every year, but behind the scenes, they’ve often been in the works for years, and buyers may still be waiting years more before delivery. That seemed to be the story of Koenigsegg’s beloved Gemera, the world’s first four-seater “Mega-GT” hypercar, which debuted at the start of March 2020. It wasn’t exactly a forgotten project; Koenigsegg was busy developing a production line while finishing the Regera, launching the Jesko, kicking off the CC850, and building a handful of one-off cars along the way. But today, Koenigsegg is excited to share its newly updated Gemera production line with the world on its Instagram. It's one of the moments in history where you pause and look back at how far Christian Von Koenigsegg and his team have come since the start, from the very first CC prototype to the world record Agera RS, and now, the first Mega-GT. Perfectly situated inside the pristine warehouse of a former Swedish Air Force fighter jet base turned hypercar headquarters, the Gemera production line is now filled with dozens of carbon fiber tubs awaiting various stages of hand assembly. It's the starting point where the Gemera takes shape before receiving Koenigsegg’s 2,300-horsepower hybrid-assisted 5.0L “Hot V8.” The production line now runs side by side with the CC850 and the upcoming Sadir Spear, showcasing the future of Koenigsegg all coming together in one space. Disguised by a black and white filter to keep configurations confidential, we can’t wait to see all the Gemera specs and its performance on the open road. O'Gara Coach Delivers Its Very First 1,600HP Koenigsegg J...

The monumental occasion marks the official kickoff of future Jesko deliveries. Throughout automotive history, countless cars have come and gone, but only a select few rise above the moment to become timeless icons. In rare cases, their impact is felt before a single mile is driven, leaving a mark long before they ever touch the road. This proves to be the case for Koenigsegg and its ever-promising Jesko series, which carries Christian von Koenigsegg’s torch as the successor to the legendary Agera. Originally announced back in 2019 at the Geneva International Motor Show, bearing the name of Christian’s father, Koenigsegg slotted just 125 chassis for production, including both a track-focused Attack and top-speed Absolut version. Today, Koenigsegg Jesko owners from around the world are celebrating as some are beginning to receive calls that their dream specs have landed all the way from Ängelholm, Sweden. The team at O’Gara Coach and Koenigsegg Beverly Hills is pleased to join in on the celebrations, recently taking to Instagram to showcase its very first Koenigsegg Jesko Attack delivery to a very special client. Engineered for the track with weight savings and downforce in mind, the Jesko Attack features additional aero upgrades that give it a distinct and sinister style in comparison to its high-speed counterpart, the Jesko Absolut. With a practically limitless color palette to choose from, the owner chose a stunning Imperial Blue Metallic finish that perfectly highlights the Jesko Attack's low-slung look and the way it channels air to achieve over 3,000 lbs of downforce. Natural aluminum centerlock wheels provide the surface traction while bright orange carbon ceramic supply the stopping power, adding a touch of contrast to the already-impressive configuration. Inside is where Koenigsegg’s refinement and focus on quality come into play, starting with a cabin tub construction completely from carbon fiber to ensure strength, stability, and safety while defying the laws of speed. One-piece carbon bucket seats come beautifully layered in Night Sky Blue leather with a contrasting Lava Orange diamond stitching, tying the entire design together and bringing the owner’s dream to reality. The Koenigsegg Jesko Attack packs a serious punch thanks to its twin‑turbocharged 5.0‑liter V8 that pushes out up to 1,600 horsepower on E85 fuel. Paired with Koenigsegg’s advanced 9‑speed Light Speed Transmission, which swaps gears faster than you can blink, the Jesko Attack launches with blistering acceleration and impressive top‑end speed potential. Performance stats are jaw‑dropping, including a sub‑2.5 second 0–60 mph time, a top speed rumored well north of 300 mph under the right conditions, and a power‑to‑weight ratio that puts it in top-tier territory. A black Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear speeds around a curve on a sunny racetrack, shattering the Laguna Seca production car record for 2025, with barriers, signage, and hills visible in the background.

Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear Shatters Laguna Seca Production...

Koenigsegg has smashed yet another record, this time at one of America’s most demanding circuits. The Sadair’s Spear, the Swedish brand’s latest homologated hypercar, which first broke cover in June this year, set a new production-car lap record at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, clocking a verified 1:24.16 on November 4, 2025. What makes this feat even more impressive is the list of limitations in place. The only track slot Koenigsegg could secure was a 90 dB sound-limit day, Laguna’s quietest. To comply, the team quickly fabricated an extra muffler. It did nothing for performance but kept the car legal to run. On top of that, the Sadair’s Spear wasn’t even fitted with its lightweight carbon fiber wheels, instead using heavier aluminum ones. Despite these limitations, factory test driver Markus Lundh was able to push the car to a record-breaking lap verified by Racelogic around the 2.24-mile circuit known for its elevation changes, off-camber corners, and the legendary Corkscrew. The record was previously held by the Czinger 21C with a time of 1:25.44 set in 2021. “We knew that the Sadair’s Spear had the potential to beat the lap record. To achieve this feat with the added muffler behind the car shows the potential for even greater performance on a less noise-restricted day. That the everyday-usable and livable Sadair’s Spear — with Autoskin, electric seats, sound deadening, amplifiers, and more — can outperform stripped-out track cars is a true testament to the depth of engineering that goes into our creations. I am very proud of our results and achievements, made possible only through solid and passionate teamwork.” - Christian von Koenigsegg. The Laguna run came right after Koenigsegg’s appearance at the Concours at Wynn Las Vegas, where the Sadair’s Spear was showcased alongside other hypercars and collector cars during one of the weekend’s headline events. Following the display, the team seized the opportunity to take the car to Laguna Seca for a quick test and walked away with a record. The Sadair’s Spear is Koenigsegg’s successor to the Jesko Absolut and packs a twin-turbocharged 5.0-liter V8 hybrid system that can produce up to 1,600 horsepower on E85 fuel, sending power through Koenigsegg’s innovative 9-speed Light Speed Transmission to the rear wheels. It tips the scales at just 3,053 pounds, and with E85 fuel, it has a 1:1 power-to-weight ratio.  In the short time since its debut, the Sadair’s Spear has also bagged several records this year, which include the Fastest Production Car at the Goodwood in July, where it set a time of  47.14 seconds up the iconic Hill Climb, and the Gotland Ring record over in Sweden, where it beat the Jesko Absolute by 1.1 seconds for a time of 2:55.88. The Stradman's 2012 Koenigsegg Agera S "HH" Is For Sale

The world's most viewed Koenigsegg hypercar is looking for a new home. Christian von Koenigsegg's vision began with a single dream: to create the ultimate hypercar that would push the limits of speed, design, and technology. What started as a bold idea in a modest Swedish workshop has since transformed into one of the most exclusive and forward-thinking brands in the automotive world. The Koenigsegg Agera S is just one manifestation of that dream, so rare and powerful that it will forever cement itself as a timeless contender in the hypercar space. But this particular example carries a story that stretches beyond the walls of Koenigsegg's production facility. It has lived a second life as James The Stradman's Koenigsegg Agera S, immortalized in YouTube videos watched by millions of fans and car lovers, and celebrated as much for his memories made behind the wheel as the numbers it produces. With only five Agera S examples ever produced worldwide, and the only one currently in the United States, this represents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for any seasoned or future Koenigsegg collector. Originally dubbed the Agera "HH" as Koenigsegg's 99th car and specially built for David Heinemeier Hansson, chassis #7099 features a stunning Monterey Blue finish, accentuated by tons of exposed carbon fiber. The car's factory upgrades are just as impressive, including One:1-style mirrors and AirCore carbon fiber wheels, while a $100K gold RYFT exhaust was installed by James' friend and previous owner, Houston Crosta. At the heart of the Koenigsegg lies a twin-turbocharged 5.0-liter V8 producing over 1,000 horsepower, harnessed through a lightweight carbon fiber chassis. What adds to its already-significant status as one of the most powerful cars ever produced is its role in the life of James, better known to the world as The Stradman. Over the past decade, he has built one of the most influential automotive channels on YouTube, bringing fans along for the ride as he transformed from an everyday car enthusiast into a hypercar owner with a global audience. The Agera S is more of a symbol of how far the dream has come. James even recalls a time when he tried to help jumpstart the exact car in 2015 while living in his Audi TT, which he later uploaded a picture of on his Facebook. And even with the attachment of being driven by Lewis Hamilton during a Gumball 3000 rally, it became one of the central characters in his videos. From roaring along the winding roads of Utah with snow-capped peaks in the distance, to stealing the spotlight at car meets and automotive events across the country, this Koenigsegg has been at the center of countless cinematic vlogs and adrenaline-filled adventures. It was the car that carried him on collaborations with fellow creators, appeared in some of his most iconic video content, and brought fans closer to the thrill of hypercar ownership than ever before. Every curve, every roar of its twin-turbo V8, and every drive captured on camera became part of a narrative that millions of viewers followed, making this Agera S truly one-of-a-kind. Now offered through duPont REGISTRY, this 2012 Koenigsegg Agera S represents an opportunity unlike any other. Yes, it is one of the rarest hypercars in the world. Yes, its performance and styling alone make it a holy grail for any serious collection. But what sets it apart is the life it has already lived, the moments it has already delivered, and the millions of people it has already inspired. For the lucky enthusiast who takes ownership, this Agera S symbolizes Christian von Koenigsegg's dream and the dreams of an entire community who fell in love with it through the lens of The Stradman.
