Mercedes-Benz USA Increases G-Class Sales In Q1 2026

Despite a slight decrease from Q1 2025, many models showed strong results.

Celebrating 140 years since Karl Benz invented the production automobile, Mercedes-Benz has been evolving some of the most celebrated cars in its lineup and introducing new technology throughout. Placing focus on high-end offerings, a new flagship Mercedes-Maybach S-Class has been unveiled, and a new Mercedes-Maybach VLS “Grand Limousine” van has been announced, as well.

In the first quarter of 2026, Mercedes-Benz reported sales of 78,500 vehicles, a number that represents “resilience… and strong demand” according to the MBUSA CEO, Adam Chamberlain. Mercedes-Benz also reports that the strong number comes thanks to sustained demand for the brand’s SUV lineup, including the recently revised and highly popular GLC, as well as the GLE which just received an update.

In Mercedes-Benz’s Top-End offering, the G-Class enjoyed a 16 percent increase in sales year-on-year during the quarter, while the SL increased by 47 percent. Maybach sales also increased by 22 percent. Core models like the GLE and GLC enjoyed sales increases during the quarter, but the overall sales number for the quarter represents a slight decrease compared to last year. However, Mercedes-Benz looks forward to the remainder of 2026 with new models and updated staples that represent the cutting edge of automotive luxury, and many of its models started the year strong.
