Morgan Completes Its Final 1-of-50 Midsummer Build

#50 of 50 rolls off the production line as a piece of automotive history.

Few carmakers wear their heritage as proudly as Morgan Motor Company. With more than 115 years of coachbuilding tradition, the British marque continues to build sports cars that celebrate craftsmanship, heritage, and the simple joy of driving. Marking a milestone nearly two years in the making, Morgan today announces the completion of its 50th and final bespoke Midsummer customer commission, a limited-production barchetta created in collaboration with the renowned design team at Pininfarina.  Since July 2024, the project has been unfolding inside the workshops of its historic Pickersleigh Road Factory. The final configuration features a subtly stunning gloss-black exterior with exposed wood finishes and aluminium, adding contrast to its unmistakable, elongated silhouette. Monoblock machined wheels give it a modern OEM-plus look while paying homage to the simplicity and styling of its earliest creations. Its open cabin reveals a rich light-brown leather interior, wrapped in that distinctive wooden structure that defines the car’s shoulder line. As many Morgan builds, the Midsummer was never intended to be a mass-produced sports car. Instead, it became a blank canvas for deeply personalized specs, with each owner working directly with Morgan’s design team to create a truly one-of-a-kind car. Some owners opted for unique paint colors and custom stitch patterns, while others commissioned bespoke veneers, pinstriped details, or even personalized dial artwork. Across all 50 cars, the diversity in owner requests helped expand Morgan’s in-house “off menu” abilities, growing its archive of materials, finishes, and design ideas that will inspire future builds. With the final Midsummer now complete, the project leaves behind more than just fifty jaw-dropping barchettas. It also represents experimentation for Morgan Motor Company, strengthening its coachbuilding expertise while introducing the brand to a new generation of owners and enthusiasts. One of the last examples will remain on display in Malvern as a reminder of the project, while production continues at Pickersleigh Road on the cars that have defined Morgan for decades.
