While Porsche continues to perfect its recipe, whether it be the naturally aspirated performance of its GT series or the extreme off-road capabilities of the Cayenne, one car will forever remain in a class of its own: the Carrera GT. And before its much-deserved recognition as a seven-figure collector car, the simple reality is that Porsche’s V10 supercar was long overlooked by buyers, with many sitting unsold on showroom floors with $450,000 MSRPs. It's still a sore subject for those who passed on what seemed to be the opportunity of a lifetime. 
A key player in the Porsche ecosystem, delivering legendary cars like these from new, the team at Isringhausen Imports took to Instagram to show off a pair of Porsche Carrera GTs at its dealership in Springfield,IL. Leading the duo is a 2005 Porsche Carrera GT, currently for sale on duPont REGISTRY. Finished in classic GT Silver Metallic and showing only 13,462 miles, it recently received a major service and had a recall completed. Inside, the interior has been preserved in pristine condition, which came optioned from the factory in black leather with brushed aluminum trim. Now ready for its next owner to enjoy on the open road, this Porsche Carrera GT is priced at $3,299,900. 
The other example carries a little more significance, a piece of Isringhausen’s personal collection. The second Porsche Carrera GT stands out with a rare Paint-to-Sample Grand Prix White finish, a color offered outside the model's five standard factory colors: GT Silver Metallic, Basalt Black Metallic, Seal Grey, Fayence Yellow, and Guards Red. And while Porsche left little room to option these cars from new, this build comes with a radio and A/C delete, one of just a handful of lightweight Carrera GTs that are roughly 70 lbs lighter than a standard car.
The heart of the Porsche Carrera GT is what truly sets it in its own lane. Mounted behind the driver is a naturally aspirated 5.7-liter V10 that traces its roots back to a Porsche motorsport program originally developed for endurance racing. It produces 603 horsepower, revs to 8,400 rpm, and is paired with a six-speed manual transmission. Add in rear-wheel drive, and the Carrera GT is summed up as one of the last truly analog supercars.
