One of the most celebrated manufacturers in the automotive industry, Porsche’s luxury performance car lineup enjoys legions of collectors, enthusiasts, and fans, and at this year’s Monterey Car Week, one of the most anticipated parts of the annual automotive calendar, Porsche and its community showed up in full force. Reveals of new cars and appearances of cherished icons characterized Porsche’s presence at this year’s Car Week, with exclusivity and enthusiast appeal at the center.
The most noteworthy highlight of Porsche’s Car Week presence is the new Flachbau RS, a Sonderwunsch one-off, created as an homage to the 935 “Moby Dick.” Created in collaboration with Manthey Racing, the one-off is based on the 991 911 GT2 RS with the Weissach Package, and reimagines the “flat nose” design that the 935 made iconic in the ‘70s.
However, alongside that, Porsche also introduced a new member to its current 911 lineup, offering the latest Porsche 911 Carrera S with a six-speed manual transmission. Available in the North American market, the rear-wheel drive, manual 911 Carrera S signifies Porsche’s commitment to creating drivers’ cars with timeless enthusiast appeal.

Celebrating Porsche’s ties with a particular section of Hollywood’s cultural lexicon, the life-size Sally Carrera, the iconic Porsche 911 character from Disney Pixar’s Cars films, was present at Monterey Car Week this year. Joining it, however, were a trio of Porsches related to another Pixar series, the Sonderwunsch one-off Porsche 911 commissions created after characters in the latest Toy Story 5. Created as part of a charitable initiative, the vehicles were made to support Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, the American Red Cross and Starlight Children’s Foundation.
With one-of-one exclusivity, purist excellence, and pop-culture excitement, Porsche’s Monterey Car Week presence this year showcased the diversity of the manufacturer’s appeal, the breadth of its automotive excellence, and the richness of its heritage.
