Manthey Racing Sets a New Benchmark With Back-to-Back Runs at the Nürburgring Nordschleife

Manthey Racing Sets a New Benchmark With Back-to-Back Runs at the Nürburgring Nordschleife

When I met with Michael Grassl, Sales Director of Manthey Racing, at the Icons of Porsche Dubai last November, he teased an “exciting 2026”. The Manthey kit for the Porsche 911 GT3 RS (992.1), complete with its distinctive aero fin, had been unveiled over a year earlier in 2024, and I asked when the hot lap would follow. Five months on, that answer has arrived in the form of two Nürburgring laps set on the same day in mid- April. The headline belongs to the aforementioned 992.1 GT3 RS fitted with the Manthey Kit. Driven by long-serving Porsche works driver Jörg Bergmeister, the car recorded a 6:45.389 lap of the 20.832-kilometer (~13-mile) Nordschleife, improving on the already formidable standard car by roughly four seconds (6:49.328).  Running alongside that effort on the same day was the latest iteration of the Porsche 911 GT3 (992.2) with the new Manthey performance kit. With Ayhancan Güven behind the wheel, the car posted a 6:50.863 lap, nearly five seconds quicker than the previous-generation 992.1 GT3 ( 6:55.200) equipped with Manthey hardware. The gains reflect a familiar Manthey formula, more downforce, sharper aero surfaces, and incremental refinements to suspension and braking. Grassl had outlined those updates in detail during our conversation. A larger front splitter, underbody fins, turning vanes, a closed floor, a revised diffuser, and a new rear wing define the package, which is supported by lightweight carbon components and optional track-focused upgrades. Inside, subtle changes signal the shift in identity, including Manthey branding replacing the GT3 badge behind the gear lever. Beyond lap times, the business case remains just as compelling. Manthey kits continue to command a premium in the secondary market, driven by proximity to record-setting cars and constrained supply. These results continue to reinforce Manthey’s position as Porsche’s most track-focused development partner. View All Porsche 911 GT3 and GT3 RS For Sale Images: Manthey Racing, Khris Bharath

Sonderwunsch Porsches Come To Lake Como For Fuori Concorso

By Tyler Rampersaud –  April 30, 2026

Porsche Brings Sonderwunsch Cars To Fuori Concorso

2022 saw the first dedicated display of one-offs and limited-series Porsches at FuoriConcorso, set against the glittering backdrop of Italy’s Lake Como. There, the 2023 Porsche 911 Sport Classic was the star of the show, a limited-production 911 that paid homage to the 60th anniversary of the Porsche 911 that remains one of the most desirable collector-grade Porsches today, with several Exclusive Manufaktur details and a manual transmission. The year after, Porsche brought rarely seen prototypes and concept cars to an open-air exhibition at Fuori Concorso, including the legendary Porsche 911 GT1 that Mark Webber got behind the wheel of. 2024 saw a Porsche Fuori Concorso display that included a Chromaflair-painted Porsche 911 Turbo S customized by Sonderwunsch, set amongst a theme of British Racing Green at the event. At this year’s Fuori Concorso, Porsche plans to continue highlighting Sonderwunsch bespoke design and craftsmanship at the event. A selected number of cars will be displayed at the Lake Como gathering, highlighting the best of both Sonderwunsch and Exclusive Manufaktur, and this year’s event theme, ‘KraftMeister,’ will inform the selection of Factory Commission projects that will be present. The new Porsche 911 GT3 S/C, a new open-top, manual rendition of the Porsche 911 GT3, will be a major highlight of Porsche’s presence at the 2026 Fuori Concorso event. Showcasing how Porsche can bring unique client visions to life, Fuori Concorso will be a venue for craftsmanship, luxury, design, and performance excellence from Porsche. Porsche's 963 Brings Back the Apple Livery at Laguna Seca

By Jordan Aquistapace –  April 30, 2026

Porsche's 963 Brings Back the Apple Livery at Laguna Seca

Porsche is tapping into one of its most surprising chapters this weekend, bringing a revived Apple-inspired racing livery to the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. Both factory Porsche 963 race cars will sport the one-off look, swapping the stock modern Porsche livery for something pulled straight from an almost-forgotten chapter of racing history. 2026 marks 75 years of Porsche Motorsport and 50 years since Apple was founded by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Ronald Wayne. Instead of doing something polished or predictable, Porsche has gone back to celebrate a car most people don’t even realize existed. GALLERY-EMBED That connection comes from the Porsche 935 K3 owned by Dick Barbour Racing in 1980, including its run at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. That car famously sported Apple Computer’s rainbow-striped livery, which at the time was pretty unusual for motorsport and, honestly, still a little today. It wasn’t a long-term sponsorship or anything like that, but it stuck because it just looked so different from everything else on the race track. Seeing that vision carried forward onto a modern prototype like the 963 is where things get seriously nostalgic for Porsche purists and motorsport fanatics. It’s two very different eras of racing intersecting in a way that actually makes sense visually. GALLERY-EMBED And Laguna Seca is an appropriate place for it all to happen. The world-renowned track has deep ties to Porsche’s North American racing story, and it’s close enough to Apple’s Cupertino home base. It’s also hosted several Porsche Rennsport Reunion events, so there’s already a history of the brand treating it as a cultural stage. Whether this Apple throwback is just a one-off or a hint at something to stay, it works because it pulls a real moment from the past and puts it back on track. Is Porsche Reviving Apple’s Forgotten Racing Past?

By Jordan Aquistapace –  April 29, 2026

Is Porsche Reviving Apple’s Forgotten Racing Past?

Porsche snuck something unusual into its Instagram feed just now, a short reel centered on a race helmet designed by @ornamentalconifer, the Art Director at Race Service, finished in a retro, rainbow-striped Apple livery. No caption explaining the why, just a date, May 3rd, and a place: WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. The teaser feels confusing, and it has Porsche purists chatting . Pairing Porsche with Apple in a racing context isn’t something you see often, and the choice to preview it through a helmet rather than a car only adds to the mysteriousness. Because there is a reference here, and it’s deep. Apple’s history in motorsport is almost nonexistent, aside from a single, often-overlooked chapter in 1979 involving a Porsche 935 K3 owned by Bob Garretson. For a brief time, the car showed off an Apple Computer livery, a one-off at the time and even more so given how tightly the company has historically controlled its image. The car later became better known in its Hawaiian Tropic disguise, but that earlier livery has lingered as a kind of unicorn that enthusiasts never quite let go of. It also shares a connection to Paul Newman, who drove the 935 during that era, further tying its celebrity status to late-1970s endurance racing culture. Today, the same chassis sits in the collection of American comedian and car collector Adam Carolla, who owns the largest lineup of Paul Newman-raced cars. With that bit of history, the helmet starts to hint at something big to come. Porsche has a habit of revisiting its archive in subtle ways, and this looks like one of them. Whether this leads to a one-off livery or a historical tribute isn’t clear, but the setting suggests it will be driven. Laguna Seca has long been part of Porsche’s American racing history, and using it as the backdrop for whatever comes next adds a layer of context. For now, it’s just a date, a place, and a visual clue, but it’s enough to suggest that May 3rd won’t be a routine reveal. New Porsche 911 GT3 S/C Makes Air|Water Debut

By Tyler Rampersaud –  April 27, 2026

Porsche Debuts 911 GT3 S/C At Air|Water

Air|Water celebrated yet another massively successful event at the OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa, California, showcasing the breadth of Porsche history as a companion to the Luftgekühlt event that highlights air-cooled Porsches. Taking place this past weekend, the event was not only a bastion of Porsche culture and automotive enthusiasm with over 800 cars on display, but it also featured over 50 private vendors, and the public debut of a new model. That debut was of the new Porsche 911 GT3 S/C, which was recently revealed as a new open-top version of the purist-oriented 911 GT3 with a manual transmission. The creation of the new 911 GT3 S/C highlights Porsche’s commitment to making driver’s cars with a traditional approach to performance. Alongside the 911 GT3 S/C, Porsche masterpieces from throughout the manufacturer’s history also demonstrated the brand’s contributions to the lexicon of automotive excellence. That included a celebration of the 75th anniversary of Porsche’s presence in motorsport. The display consisted of cars like the 962, the “Rexy” 911 GT3 R from AO Racing, and more. In addition, Sally Carrera, the iconic 996 Porsche 911 character from the Cars films, was displayed alongside the 2022 Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Sally Special, a one-off inspired by the character. With several displays of Porsche legacy and heritage throughout the event, and the debut of the latest Porsche purist masterpiece, the latest Air|Water festival in Costa Mesa was yet another success. <- Gallery -> View All Porsche 911 GT3 For Sale Image Source: Porsche

2026 Porsche Cayenne Coupe Electric Gets a Sharper Edge, with up to 1,139HP

By Jordan Aquistapace –  April 24, 2026

2026 Porsche Cayenne Coupe Electric Gets a Sharper Edge, with up to 1,139HP

Long gone are the days when electrification meant slow and boring, leaning into efficiency over performance; manufacturers are using EV and hybrid powertrains to their advantage, lessening the lag gap and delivering instant power. Porsche first tapped into this with e-hybrid models and the all-electric Taycan, using each as a test bed before perfecting its craft and trickling it down to the rest of its flagship cars and SUVs. Today, the new 2026 Porsche Cayenne Coupe Electric joins the gas-powered and plug-in hybrid variants of the already popular, distinctly sporty Cayenne Coupe. The first thing that you’ll notice is the shape, inspired heavily by the Porsche 911’s iconic “flyline”, the Cayenne Coupe Electric now showcases a sloping roofline. It’s a tad lower than the standard Cayenne, tighter in its proportions, and just looks more aggressive. The rear spoiler tucks into the body seamlessly, and the flush rear glass makes the whole thing look wider and cleaner from the rear. The best way to describe it is that it just looks like a Porsche that happens to be an SUV. Inside, it’s familiar if you’ve spent time in Porsche’s newer EVs, which isn’t a bad thing. The layout is clean, driver-focused, and loaded with tech. What’s really impressive is how little headroom is compromised despite the coupe roof. Rear seating is still spacious, cargo space is usable, and there’s even a frunk for extra storage. Those looking to spice up their Cayenne Coupe Electric, Porsche even offers a Lightweight Sport Package with carbon, sportier materials, and trims that shave some weight without stripping out the interior.Performance where the Cayenne Coupe Electric starts to stand out from its other variants. Built on an 800-volt powerplant, it delivers fast-charging capability that actually makes daily EV use easier. Power ranges from 435 horsepower in the base model to a jaw-dropping 1,139 horsepower in the Turbo, with 0–60mph times dipping into supercar territory. It handles that performance with unadaptive air suspension, optional rear-axle steering, and torque vectoring, which all work together to make an SUV feel like a 911 when pushed. Pricing lands right where you’d expect for a Porsche electric SUV, starting just over $113,000 and climbing well into the $160K range for the Turbo. Orders are open now, with deliveries expected toward the end of summer 2026. Nothing’s being phased out either. Gas and hybrid Cayenne Coupe models aren’t going anywhere. Porsche Collaborates With Riot Games For “League Of Legends: Wild Rift”

By Tyler Rampersaud –  April 23, 2026

Porsche Collaborates With “League Of Legends: Wild Rift”

One of the most prominent and genre-defining MOBA games in the industry is League of Legends, and the intellectual property has risen far beyond just being a popular game. With a well-established e-sports presence, television shows, music, and more, League of Legends has risen into an unequivocal entertainment powerhouse. One of its spin-offs is a mobile game called League of Legends: Wild Rift, and Porsche has minted a new partnership with the game’s developer, Riot Games, centered around the mobile title. In-game, Porsche and Riot Games have co-created a cosmetic “skin” for the Wild Rift character Kai’Sa. With nods to Porsche and a motorsport-inspired design, the skin is part of Wild Rift’s “Neon Daredevil” update, which includes an alien planet where high-speed, futuristic vehicles compete. One of those combines design inspiration from League of Legends lore and the Porsche 911 GT3. The update is available from April 30 to May 28 for Wild Rift players. <- Gallery -> However, in real life, a bespoke Porsche 911 GT3 has also been created as part of the collaboration between Porsche and Wild Rift, and the livery takes inspiration from the Kai’Sa skin design, bringing the game to life. Events hosted by Porsche and Riot Games at the Porsche Experience Centers in Los Angeles and Shanghai will give members of the gaming community the chance to experience the vehicle. The bespoke car also features in a short film set in the universe of Wild Rift, which was filmed near Barcelona. Shown in an intense chase sequence, the Porsche 911 GT3 shows off its performance-focused capability, even performing on sandy terrain. With icons in the automotive and gaming worlds coming together, the new collaboration between Porsche and League of Legends: Wild Rift is a truly special intersection of worlds. Porsche To Premiere 3 Bespoke 911s At “Toy Story 5” Premiere

By Tyler Rampersaud –  April 23, 2026

Porsche Makes 3 Bespoke 911s For “Toy Story 5”

For over twenty years, Porsche and Disney animation powerhouse Pixar have had a connection. That was through Sally Carrera, a 996 Porsche 911 brought to life in the world of Cars. To celebrate the legacy of the Cars movies, Porsche recreated Sally in real life with the Porsche 911 Sally Special. In 2022, the Sally Special sold for $3.6 million at an RM Sotheby’s auction during Monterey Car Week. Now, Porsche’s latest announcement says that the partnership between the legendary luxury sports car manufacturer and Pixar will continue with another iconic Pixar series, Toy Story. As the highly anticipated Toy Story 5 film approaches its June 19 premiere date, Porsche has announced that not one, but three bespoke 911 cars will be unveiled at the red carpet premiere of the new movie in Los Angeles. The three characters that the bespoke 911s will be inspired by are Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and Jessie, and the bespoke craftsmanship and design expertise of Porsche’s Sonderwunsch program will be used to its fullest extent to bring creative visions to life in the form of each of the bespoke cars. The three cars are set to be sold together, supporting three nonprofits dedicated to helping children and people in need. As Toy Story 5, a film that sees the iconic toy characters navigate a world full of new technology, approaches its premiere, a trio of new bespoke Sonderwunsch Porsche 911s will help celebrate its release and then be sold for a noble cause.  View All Porsche 911 For Sale Image Source: Porsche

Porsche Built This While You Waited for a 918 Spyder, and It's For Sale

By Jordan Aquistapace –  April 22, 2026

Porsche Built This While You Waited for a 918 Spyder, and It's For Sale

Even almost thirteen years after its launch, the Porsche 918 Spyder continues to hold immense significance among collectors and enthusiasts in the automotive world, serving as a true pioneer in hybrid hypercar mayhem alongside the coveted McLaren P1 and Ferrari LaFerrari. And while the project took over three years to develop, with clients already on board prior to any scheduled production, Porsche dreamed up a special 911 Turbo S “Edition 918 Spyder” to appease owners during the long wait. Rarely surfacing to market, as many are tucked away alongside their hypercar counterparts, the team at Fort Lauderdale Collection South is proud to showcase this 2012 Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet “Edition 918 Spyder” as part of its inventory of exotics for sale on duPont REGISTRY. Available as part of the 997 generation, in coupe or open-top form, this special edition Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet is finished in a historic Carrera White shade with a black canvas top. The black-and-white theme continues with gloss carbon-finished side mirrors, air intakes, and forged sport wheels. In tune with the 918 Spyder and Porsche’s use of Acid Green touches, the side mirrors. Turbo S badging, “Edition 918 Spyder” door decals, and Porsche Carbon Ceramic Brakes are also styled in the same vibrant shade of green as a subtle nod, and a more if you know, you know look. The interior ties everything together in a minimal yet noticeable fashion, with a full black leather interior highlighted with added touches of exposed carbon fiber. The use of Acid Green continues in the form of piping and contrast stitching on the comfort seats, sports steering wheel, dashboard, and door trim. Porsche even incorporated the same shade of green into the gauge cluster and sports chrono package to complete the look. To the naked eye, you may not even know that it's one of the rarest versions of the Porsche 911 Turbo S, and that’s exactly the point. The 997 Porsche 911 Turbo S packs a 3.8L twin-turbo flat-six that sends 530 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque to all four wheels. It’s paired exclusively with Porsche’s lightning-quick Porsche PDK transmission, which, even by today’s standards, still goes through gears with zero hesitation. Launch control was standard here, and its 0–60 mph time is around 3.1 seconds, with a top speed of 196 mph. Packaged in an ultra-rare configuration that rarely comes up for sale, this 2012 Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet “Edition 918 Spyder” is now available at Fort Lauderdale Collection South by clicking the link below. Luftgekühlt 12 Remains On The East Coast With Atlanta, GA Event

By Tyler Rampersaud –  April 21, 2026

Luftgekühlt 12 Comes To Atlanta

A celebration of the air-cooled era of Porsche, Luftgekühlt is known for highlighting the rich car culture and passionate fanbase that Porsche enjoys, and what many enthusiasts consider a golden era in its history as a manufacturer. The Luftgekühlt event started on the West Coast, and recently came east last year for the 11th edition, which took place in a historic part of Durham, North Carolina. However, for Luftgekühlt 12, the event is staying on the eastern side of the map, as Atlanta has been announced as the location for the October event. On Saturday, October 10, Luftgekühlt 12 is coming to the Peach State, with proximity to the headquarters of Porsche Cars North America and the Porsche Experience Center in the city. The team has experienced success with events in the area before, specifically at the iconic Road Atlanta race track located east of the city in Braselton, Georgia. The IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season finale, the Petit Le Mans race, will take place before Luftgekühlt 12 at Road Atlanta, giving the event an electrified atmosphere for automotive enthusiasts. Art, culture, cars, and camaraderie will collide at Luftgekühlt 12, with air-cooled Porsche icons at the center of the festivities, and Patrick Long, the founder of Luftgekühlt, said, “Atlanta felt like a natural next move for us. Being so close to Porsche's U.S. home adds another layer to the experience, and we're excited to bring the community together there this fall. As the brand continues to expand into new regions, moments like this reflect a broader intention to connect with audiences in meaningful and culturally-specific ways," about the event’s new location. <- Gallery -> An official venue announcement, as well as additional details like ticket information and the exact location of the event, are all coming soon. However, what we know now is that an iconic Porsche festival is coming to Atlanta, Georgia, on October 10, and Porsche enthusiasts across the globe should prepare for a new kind of Luftgekühlt experience.
