Rivian Begins R2 Deliveries & Opens Orders For Reservation Holders

By Tyler Rampersaud –  June 10, 2026

Rivian Begins Deliveries Of The R2

Bringing bold electric vehicle innovation to the industry with its R1 truck and SUV, Rivian introduced rugged, adventure-ready EVs to the landscape. However, its operations have significantly expanded since then. Rivian is now involved with manufacturing commercial vehicles and has even made a foray into robotaxis. In addition to exploring new ventures, Rivian is also expanding its model lineup, including the R2 and the R3. The Rivian R2, an all-new mid-size SUV from Rivian, is now being delivered to public customers, and reservation holders are now being invited to place orders for the model on a rolling basis. The model was first introduced two years ago, in Laguna Beach, California on March 7, 2024. Since then, Rivian has put the model through a rigorous validation process, including multiple lifetimes of mileage, intense climates, challenging terrain, and more. Now, the Rivian R2 is finally ready to be driven and enjoyed by customers, starting with the R2 Performance with Launch Package, which carries a starting MSRP of $57,990. Late 2026 will see deliveries of R2 Premium configurations, and standard R2 configurations will begin deliveries throughout 2027. Based on a new mid-size platform, the new Rivian R2 is designed to be sold at a more accessible price point than the R1, while remaining highly capable. It’s nearly 2,000 pounds lighter than the R1, with a shorter wheelbase, making it both responsive and engaging in urban environments, and still competent off-road, with 9.6 inches of ground clearance and approach and departure angles of 25 and 26 degrees, respectively. Tested in environments ranging from deserts to tundras, the Rivian R2 has been verified in temperatures from -45 degrees Fahrenheit to 122 degrees Fahrenheit, ensuring that it combines EV innovation with a courageous spirit for adventure. For reservation holders, invitations will be delivered to rolling batches of customers to configure and order their Rivian R2, choosing their trim, color, wheels, and interior, and current Rivian owners enjoy accelerated delivery timing. By the end of June, Rivian will give all reservation holders an estimate of when they can expect their invitation to order the R2. The R2 Performance with the Launch Package boasts a 656-horsepower, 609-lb/ft powertrain with a 3.6-second 0-60 time, and a range of up to 330 miles. Unique to the Performance trim is a semi-active suspension, and the Launch package offers customers the option to equip the Launch Green color and a special green anodized key fob. With its second production model now being delivered, Rivian is opening a new chapter with the R2. View All Rivian For Sale Image Source: Rivian

Rivian & Uber Will Deploy Up To 50,000 Autonomous Robotaxis

By Tyler Rampersaud –  March 19, 2026

Rivian Partners With Uber On Robotaxis

Rivian is one of the ambitious manufacturers in the automotive industry that is promising to shape the future of mobility with its creations. Entering the market initially with its rugged, adventure-ready models, Rivian’s own lineup of series production models is expanding with the introduction of the R2, but alongside that, Rivian is also expanding with wider efforts like robotaxis. The manufacturer has just announced that its partner for robotaxis is rideshare titan Uber, who is investing $1.25 billion in Rivian through 2031, subject to Rivian achieving certain autonomous driving milestones. Uber and its fleet partners are expected to purchase 10,000 robotaxis initially, with the option to purchase up to 40,000 more in 2030. In 2028, the initial commercial deployments of these robotaxis will take place in San Francisco and Miami, with 25 cities planned in 2031. The fully autonomous fleet will consist of Rivian R2 vehicles, and the announcement of the partnership between Rivian and Uber comes after Rivian announced its third-generation autonomy platform in December 2025. It consists of a multi-modal sensor suite with 11 cameras, 5 radars, and 1 LiDAR. With cutting-edge technology fueling the autonomy of its latest vehicles, Rivian and Uber are coming together with ambitions of shaping the future of mobility across the country with up to 50,000 Rivian R2 robotaxis come the turn of the next decade. Rivian Announces Full R2 Lineup & Pricing

By Tyler Rampersaud –  March 12, 2026

2026 Rivian R2 Revealed

When Rivian first introduced its R1, it was a major disruptor in the electric vehicle market at the time. Offered as the R1S SUV and the R1T pickup, the model presented a vision of a rugged, adventure-ready EV with off-road capability and the practicality of both of its available body styles, as opposed to the luxury models and city-focused EVs that comprised the existing market. Now, Rivian has grown to be a significant part of today’s electric mobility industry, and as the manufacturer grows, it announced that smaller and more affordable models would be joining the lineup alongside the R1. The R2 and the R3 were announced some time ago, but now, the R2 will be available this year, with the full lineup and pricing just announced by Rivian for the model. Based on a new midsize platform, the R2 helps Rivian offer a greater variety of EVs to its customers, and the new model itself will offer a variety of trim levels for different drivers: Performance, Premium, and Standard. The first to arrive on the market is the R2 Performance, which will be available starting in spring 2026. It’s debuting with the Launch Package, with which it carries an MSRP of $57,990, and it features dual-motor all-wheel drive with 656 horsepower, 609 lb/ft of torque, a 0-60 time of 3.6 seconds, and a driving range of up to 330 miles. The Launch Package, available for a limited time, includes Autonomy+ for the lifetime of the vehicle, a special key fob, the option of a Launch Green exterior color, and a 4,400-lb capacity tow package. Available later this year is the R2 Premium, which features 450-horsepower dual-motor all-wheel drive, with 537 lb/ft of torque, a 4.6-second 0-60 time, and a range of up to 330 miles. The Premium starts at $53,990. The new Rivian R2 Standard will become available in 2027. It features rear-wheel drive, and starts at $48,490. It has 350 horsepower, 355 lb/ft of torque, a 0-60 time of 5.9 seconds, and a range of up to 345 miles. Starting at around $45,000, an R2 Standard variant with less range will also be available in late 2027. On display at SXSW, the iconic event that Rivian has become a prominent partner of, the Rivian R2 will be on public display at the Rivian Roadhouse. Offering a smaller, more affordable way to access its rugged EV capability, the R2 is the next chapter of the Rivian brand. View All Rivian For Sale Image Source: Rivian

A white Rivian SUV with blue and pink accents is parked on a palm-lined road by the beach—echoing the vibe of the Rivian Opens Brickell Hub With a One-Off Miami-Themed Tri-Motor R1S under a partly cloudy sky.

Rivian Opens Brickell Hub With a One-Off Miami-Themed Tri...

Rivian has just announced the opening of a new 4,000-square-foot space in Brickell, and instead of rolling out a predictable showroom lineup, the company has built a one-off Tri-Motor R1S inspired by Miami. The neon-inspired colors mean this one will be hard to miss on the road.  Teal paint highlights, pink accents, and Art Deco-inspired details give this SUV a personality that looks right at home on Ocean Drive in Florida. Blue side stripes run down the body, pink tow hooks pop against the front and rear bumpers, and the same color palette continues into the wheels as well. Inside, the headrest inserts bring the same pastel touch to the cabin as well. Rivian says the look is a nod to Vice City’s 1980s color palette and its longstanding place in pop culture. It also draws from Miami’s architecture, with the city having the highest concentration of Art Deco buildings in the world. This all-electric off-roader leans into that heritage with its bright and vibrant aesthetic.  Now, unlike traditional dealerships, Rivian sells directly to consumers. These new spaces aren’t about haggling over invoice prices or dealing with third-party franchises, but instead, they serve as brand outposts where you can explore the lineup and get hands-on time with the vehicles before configuring and ordering online. That approach keeps pricing transparent and consistent while letting Rivian control the full ownership experience. This Miami project also highlights something that traditional EV buyers rarely get: individuality. Most electric cars today offer safe colors with limited personalization options, a stark contrast to the expressive palettes and trims found across gas-powered models.  Rivian’s willingness to continue to experiment with such bold colors, localized designs is certainly a step in the right direction. It suggests they’re a technology, electric-mobility brand that understands that design and personality can be just as important as range or charging speed. If enough buyers show interest, more expressive options could potentially make their way into Rivian’s broader lineup.  You can check out the custom R1S in person at their grand opening this weekend, at Rivian’s new Brickell location, 900 S Miami Ave, Suite 152. Now, even if you’re not shopping for an EV, it’s worth stopping by to see how this electric lifestyle automaker is trying to incorporate local culture into its design language. The First 1-of-1 Rivian Will Be Auctioned At Monterey Car...

At this year’s Monterey Car Week, Rivian goes bespoke. Rivian has made undeniable waves in the rapidly growing and highly competitive arena of electric luxury vehicles. Taking a rugged, adventure-ready approach to its lineup and design, Rivian came on the scene with its R1 pickup truck and SUV pair. The introduction of new R2 and R3 models, as well as the manufacturer’s foray into creating electric commercial vehicles that have taken place since, shows its expansion beyond those initial models. Now, Rivian is showcasing an elevated level of luxury craftsmanship and unique design capabilities, taking to this year’s Monterey Car Week, one of the most prestigious and anticipated automotive events on the annual calendar, to introduce its first one-off model, the new Rivian R1S Quad Pebble Beach. The new bespoke luxury electric SUV is inspired by the spirit of adventure, specifically the natural beauty of the surrounding area of coastal Northern California. With Rivian’s quad-motor powertrain, the new Rivian R1S Quad Pebble Beach has an immense 1,025 horsepower on tap, with the ability to rocket from 0-60 in just 2.6 seconds and complete a quarter-mile in roughly 10.5, some seriously impressive numbers for an SUV. Designed to feel at home both on the gorgeous Pacific Coast Highway and on challenging terrain alike, the new R1S Quad Pebble Beach is finished in a one-of-one color, appropriately called Monterey Silver. The color is hand-applied in a four-stage process, and is paired with Laguna Beach Blue brake calipers, along with other exterior details like subtle badging to indicate the bespoke special edition, painted cladding, custom lighting animations and door sill plates, and custom 22-inch wheels. However, as with any bespoke vehicle, the interior is often where the stunning craftsmanship truly shines, and the R1S Quad Pebble Beach isn’t an exception. The interior is custom, with textured wood throughout, sustainable upholstery, a colorful gradient motif throughout, and more. During Monterey Car Week, the one-off R1S Quad Pebble Beach Edition is set to be auctioned off during the Broad Arrow Auctions Monterey Jet Center sale as Lot 127 on August 13. Proceeds from the sale will be donated to #TeamWater, an effort seeking to provide access to clean water to people who need it across the globe. As Monterey Car Week draws closer, Rivian is set to auction off its first one-of-one, bespoke vehicle. View All Rivian For Sale Image Source: Rivian
