With an open top and a performance-focused rendition of Ferrari’s iconic front-engined V12 layout, the Ferrari 812 Competizione A is one of the most special machines that the Prancing Horse brand has ever created. On top of its existing splendor as a track-focused open-top supercar with a front-mounted V12 engine, it’s also incredibly exclusive, only seeing the garages of some of Ferrari’s most valued clients, including famous Ferrari collector and Internet personality David Lee. Recently, he celebrated the delivery of his brand new Ferrari 812 Competizione A, and it’s the very first to arrive in the United States.
David Lee is known for his color-coded collections, and as the car is finished with stunning metallic green paintwork, he refers to it as the “start of his green collection.” The car is Tailor Made and one of only 599 that will be made. It’s also a “Cavalcade-spec,” which is exclusive to the select number of 100 Ferrari clients that have participated in Ferrari Cavalcade rallies that bring incredible Prancing Horse cars together. Of the five available Cavalcade-spec configurations, Lee chose to have his car finished in a shifting metallic green called Verde Volterra. Tan Alcantra accents complete the iconic “green over tan” look, with a special Cavalcade-spec exclusive design in the seat centers.
After walking around the car, Lee took it for a drive, comparing the car to the F12tdf, which the 812 Competizione and 812 Competizione A serve as successors to. The biggest and most obvious difference is that the 812 Competizione A offers an open top, unlike the F12tdf which was only offered as a coupe. At the end of the video, Lee teases two new Ferraris that are coming to his collection: the Ferrari SF90XX Spider, as well as the Ferrari Purosangue. Now, there are four possible collections that those cars can be a part of, Lee’s red, yellow, blue, or green fleets of incredible supercars.
