Genesis Is Launching 22 New & Enhanced Vehicles Through 2030

It’s only been a decade since Genesis was first established as a luxury automotive manufacturer, and in that time, it’s become one of the most formidable players in the luxury car arena. With compelling luxury sedans and SUVs, as well as electric models, Genesis already has a diverse selection of cars, and the Magma performance division is also taking shape with the GV60 Magma. However, if you’ve been following the slew of concept cars that Genesis has showcased recently, you would know that plenty of even more exciting ideas have been showcased by the brand. These include a Vision Gran Turismo grand tourer, a mid-engined supercar, a luxury performance wagon, a massive convertible and coupe, a retrofuturistic off-road SUV, and a rally-capable all-terrain racer. As exciting as those all sound, even as concept cars, some of those ideas might make their way into Genesis’ production car lineup, as the brand has just announced at the New York International Auto Show that it plans to introduce 22 new or enhanced vehicle launches through 2030. “Genesis reached one million cumulative sales faster than any other luxury brand in history, and we are just getting started,” said Genesis President and CEO José Muñoz. “Today we are committing to 22 new or significantly enhanced vehicles in North America by 2030, spanning new powertrains, new segments, and experiences designed around the Korean tradition of treating every customer as our son-nim, our honored guest. Whatever a customer's preference, whatever powertrain fits their life, there will be a Genesis for them." The new models are said to include both SUVs and passenger cars, and with them, new advanced powertrains, core models and trims will be a part of Genesis’ product offering. The announcement comes along with Hyundai Motor Group’s $26 billion investment in the United States, including greater manufacturing and technology capabilities within the country. Catering to US-based customers and US industry, Genesis is on the cusp of radically expanding its presence as a manufacturer after a decade of impressive success. Genesis’ 2026 FIA WEC Livery Revealed

Genesis Magma Racing was announced in late 2024, giving the team under 500 days to come together in time for its debut racing season in the FIA WEC, which is under two weeks from commencing with the 6 Hours of Imola. With the team fully assembled and the driver lineup announced, Genesis Magma Racing has now unveiled the livery that it will be racing with during the season. Powered by a 3.2-liter turbocharged V8 with a hybrid system built to LMDh regulations, the Genesis GMR-001 racing hypercar makes use of a chassis from Oreca. However, the car also features several signature design touches from Genesis, like two-line headlights, and touches similar to the general aesthetic Genesis vehicles on the road have become known for. Ahead of the season, the car has already completed thousands of miles of testing to ensure its ability to see through the intense endurance races in the season ahead, and as the team prepares to head into its debut season, it’s starting with the goal of making sure it finishes each race on the calendar, with greater ambitions lying ahead. <- Gallery -> The livery features several nods to Genesis’ Korean heritage, as the marque is the first Korean manufacturer in the FIA WEC. The car wears the Korean flag, as well as hangul writing for “magma” (마그마). The Magma Racing logo borrows shapes from the hangul in its geometric logo, as well. With a new car and livery that is ready to take on the 2026 FIA WEC, Genesis is days away from shaking up the endurance racing landscape. View All Genesis For Sale Image Source: Genesis

Genesis Magma Racing Announces Driver Lineup

Along with a lineup of production performance cars that is beginning to unfurl, Genesis’ Magma division is also a racing team that is about to take on the top class of this year’s FIA WEC. That season is starting in April with the 6 Hours of Imola, and Genesis has announced that the team has been assembled within the short 499-day window between the announcement of Genesis Magma Racing and the start of the 2026 season of the FIA WEC. Now, the team’s driver lineup has also been announced for the debut season of Genesis Magma Racing, and it consists of drivers who represent championship winning talent, development expertise, years of racing experience, and youthful ambition alike. Team Principal Gabriele Tarquini says, “We have focused on the things we can control. In engineering, that’s the reliability and performance of the car, in team management, it’s the processes and for me, it’s the driver lineups.” <- Gallery -> Between the two GMR-001 hypercars that will take part in the upcoming racing season, six drivers will take part in the top class of this year’s FIA WEC with Genesis Magma Racing: André Lotterer, Pipo Derani, and Mathys Jaubert in the #17 car, and Daniel Juncadella, Mathieu Jaminet, and Paul-Loup Chatin in the #19 sister car. Jaminet brings expertise and success from IMSA to the new team, as Juncadella does from GT racing, and Chatin won an FIA WEC race, the 2025 6 Hours of Fuji, behind the wheel of a hypercar with the same Oreca chassis as the GMR-001. With a diverse cast of driving talent, Genesis Magma Racing’s top-class endurance racing ambitions are set up for success as the 2026 FIA WEC season draws nearer. Genesis Magma Racing Prepares For 2026 FIA WEC

After showcasing concept cars in a bright and vivid Magma Orange color, Genesis announced that Magma would be the name of its performance outfit after enjoying meteoric success in the luxury automotive market in its first decade as a brand. Along with creating production performance cars, the first of which is the GV60 Magma, Genesis also announced that Magma would be present in the racing world, specifically in the form of top-class endurance racing, with the GMR-001 racing hypercar that would take on the FIA WEC, including, of course, the 24 Hours of Le Mans. That ambition was announced in December 2024, giving the team, which didn’t even exist yet, a mere 499 days between making that announcement and starting at the first FIA WEC race in 2026. Now, that team is together and ready to take on the championship as an in-house manufacturer outfit, and it consists of 75 people of 16 different nationalities. The team has multiple bases, one in Le Castellet, France, Hyundai Motorsport’s Offenbach, Germany headquarters, and a Technical Center in Fechenheim, Germany, where the turbocharged V8 engine that powers the Genesis GMR-001 is built. <- Gallery -> Its leadership includes team principal Cyril Abiteboul, team manager Anouck Abadie, chief engineer Justin Taylor, sporting director Gabriele Tarquini, and operations director Sebastien Metz. The team was built from scratch, bringing together people with various levels of experience and allowing the team to decide its own operations structure and plans. Honoring the heritage behind the Genesis brand, the team’s clothing designs feature “distinctly Korean” hallmarks. Supplied by partner Kappa, the clothing designs feature the signature orange and black color scheme, which carries significance in Korean culture, as well as a tone-on-tone pattern created with traditional hangul writing. This past December, a test in Barcelona determined the team’s viability in its operational plans for the upcoming season, with 80 percent of its on-event members present, but the real test is coming very soon when the 2026 FIA WEC begins with the 6 Hours of Imola in April. New Genesis GV60 Magma Top Speed Revealed

It began with a number of sporty concept cars all wearing the same vivid, striking, and unmistakable orange color. That color, Magma Orange, would then become the name of a new performance division from Genesis. After a decade on the market, Genesis successfully reshaped the landscape of the luxury car industry, and a new chapter is opening with the introduction of Magma. The GMR-001 hypercar is set to race at this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans, and Magma also officially has a production model, the GV60 Magma. The performance variant of Genesis’ all-electric GV60, the new GV60 Magma is a powerful transformation of the electric luxury SUV model and the first example of the Magma twist on the “Athletic Elegance” design principles of the Genesis brand. It goes from 0-60 in under 3.4 seconds, reaching a top speed of 164 mph. With 641 horsepower on tap and 583 lb/ft of torque, it’s the fastest electric vehicle from Genesis yet. A Boost Mode function gives the driver 15 seconds of maximum output, compared to 10 seconds in the standard GV60, and the GV60 Magma features five distinct driving modes, Range Mode, Comfort Mode, Sport Mode, Sprint Mode, and GT Mode. The accelerator pedal was specifically designed with a resistance aimed at ensuring control in all ranges, also lowering fatigue. For everyday driving, lower resistance makes driving easier, while slamming the pedal for sporty driving offers greater resistance and control. With a new production performance model in the GV60 Magma, Genesis is officially bringing Magma thrill to the market and showcasing a new level of potential for its EV lineup. Genesis Announces 9 New US Retail Locations

Only a decade has passed since Genesis was minted as a luxury automotive manufacturer, and in that time, the brand has become one of the most important players in the highly competitive luxury arena. Sedans and SUV models with combustion and electric powertrains are showing its impressive range already, and performance models are soon to be added to the mix with a top-class endurance racing effort this year, as well as various concepts previewing possible future station wagons, off-roaders, and even a supercar. However, as with any automotive manufacturer, much of its reach to customers depends on its network of dealerships and retail facilities, and Genesis has been rapidly expanding its retailer network in the United States. The latest announcement from the manufacturer reveals that its United States network of dedicated Genesis locations has expanded to 84 facilities nationwide, after nine new locations have recently opened across the country. Showcasing a unique luxury customer experience inspired by Korean tradition, more locations are offering the Genesis experience than ever before, coming right after the manufacturer celebrates a record year of 82,000 vehicles sold for Genesis North America in 2025. With new Genesis locations that are diversified across the map, including in Brooklyn, New York, Sarasota, Florida, Louisville, Kentucky, Mountain View, California, Memphis, Tennessee, and more, the young but dominant brand continues to assert its place in the luxury automotive market, with an exciting future ahead for 2026. Genesis G90 Wingback Wagon Concept: How It Redefines the ...

Just over two weeks ago, Hyundai’s luxury division, Genesis, unveiled the stunning Magma GT concept and the all-electric GV60 Magma (Magma is Genesis’ performance arm), showcased during the brand’s 10th anniversary celebrations. While the two-door hypercar garnered a lot of attention both in the press and online, there was another vehicle reveal that was equally noteworthy. Enter the G90 Wingback concept, a low-slung wagon variant based on the brand’s flagship G90 full-size sedan that also broke cover in Le Castellet, France. The G90 sedan is already a great-looking car to begin with. The Wingback Concept signals that the Korean automaker is willing to take risks. Genesis retained the standard G90 platform untouched, with the same 3.2 meter wheelbase (about 126 inches) and 5.1 meter length (about 200 inches). Instead of a sedan trunk, the rear becomes a full tailgate, creating a long wagon profile.  Renowned designer and chief creative officer, Luc Donckerwolke, drove the near-production ready concept out onto the stage himself. He has been central to this design renaissance at the Korean luxury brand. He was pivotal in shaping Lamborghini after the VW/Audi takeover in the early 2000s, and his influence shows in how Genesis balances presence with restraint. Walk around the Wingback, and the changes stand out. Finished in a dark Magma green, the Crest Grille stretches wider, and you have Genesis’ signature two-line headlights. The bumper gains large intakes and canards. Flared arches sit over custom 22-inch wheels. Other highlights include a two-piece wing and diffuser setup, combined with a steeply raked rear window. Inside, quilted Chamude upholstery, green Magma stitching, and embroidered seatbacks that reinforce the performance luxury message. Performance and luxury wagons remain popular across Europe. In the U.S., where SUVs have dominated sales across segments, the format is slowly resurfacing. BMW returned with the M5 Touring, Audi has the RS6 Avant, Mercedes has been consistent with offering the E63 AMG, and Porsche offers wagon-shaped variations of the Panamera and Taycan.  Genesis themselves had the G70 Shooting Brake, but it never came stateside. A full-size wagon in the S Class,  A8, or 7 Series has not existed until now. The closest modern-day big wagon was the W218 CLS Shooting Brake from the early 2010s. The Wingback concept now revives the idea and shows what’s possible through the Magma brand. Now, Genesis is a brand that is going from strength to strength, and in the decade it has existed, it has shaken up the competition with a diverse product portfolio that spans EVs, luxury sedans, crossovers, and a growing performance arm under Magma. They have been consistent with design exercises, concept cars, special projects, and striking one-offs, and their new California design studio in El Segundo, will play a pivotal role in future products moving forward. Magma will also extend beyond road cars. Genesis confirmed the brand will enter endurance competition under Magma Racing, and the GMR-001 Hypercar. As for the Wingback concept, it remains a one-off for now, but given the buzz around it, it will be interesting to see if Genesis decides to put it into production, despite the performance/luxury wagon segment being very niche. Should it be realized, it could serve as the ideal alternative to a market dominated by SUVs and crossovers at the luxury end of the market. View All Genesis For Sale Images: Genesis

Not only have concepts of performance-oriented versions of existing Genesis models emerged, but also unique concepts like the Genesis X Berlinetta Vision Gran Turismo. Stunning Magma GT Concept Debuts as Blueprint for Genesis...

The Magma GT Concept just set a new tone for the Genesis brand. Unveiled in Le Castellet, France, it represents the foundation of the next decade of Genesis performance cars under its Magma performance division, including a path into GT racing. The company has already confirmed entry into the WEC grid in 2026 with the GMR-001 hypercar that will be powered by a twin-turbo V8. While we have seen some truly stunning concept cars from Genesis before, like the Gran Coupe and Convertible, the Magma GT takes a different direction, adopting a proper mid-engine supercar silhouette, which is a first for parent company, Hyundai Motor Group. While signature Genesis design elements like the split LED DRLs are present upfront, the blacked-out A-pillars should remind you of a certain Swedish marque. Finished in a striking shade of orange, you’ll notice the low-set hood and the boat-tail cabin that narrows toward the rear. It maximizes the "low and wide" stance essential for high-speed stability. The front canards integrate directly into the headlamps to generate necessary downforce, while the G-Matrix patterns on the front splitter function as active airflow elements.  “The Magma GT Concept represents the pinnacle of our performance vision and stands as a symbol of our commitment to true motorsport capability. It isn’t defined by raw aggression or uncompromising speed — it is defined by balance. This is a car that feels instinctively connected to its driver, composed under pressure, and meticulously tuned so that every component serves a single purpose: to make performance effortless.”- Luc Donckerwolke, President and Chief Creative Officer, Genesis. This launch aligns specifically with the strategy revealed at the CEO Investor Day in New York this past September. Supporting that strategy, Genesis recently announced a new design center in El Segundo, California, to expand its global design capability and evolve future performance products with international input. What also makes this moment significant is how quickly Genesis has climbed the global luxury ladder. The South Korean brand has earned high praise for its diversified lineup of luxury sedans like the G80 and G90, along with SUVs like the GV70 and GV7=80, models that can rival European counterparts in terms of refinement and technology.  Besides the Magma GT concept, Genesis also showcased the 640-horsepower GV60 and the G90 Wingback Magma Concept Wagon. But the halo model will guide its portfolio for the next ten years, and by committing to a mid-rear engine platform and future motorsport entries, Genesis is establishing the pedigree necessary to compete more effectively against established marques.
