duPont REGISTRY Group Is Now the Ultimate Destination for Porsche Enthusiasts

By duPont REGISTRY –  April 01, 2026

duPont REGISTRY Group: The Destination for Porsche Enthusiasts

There are a few names in the collector car world that carry the weight of duPont REGISTRY. For more than four decades, the brand has served as the trusted marketplace for the world's most coveted automobiles. But in recent months, duPont REGISTRY Group (dRG) has made a series of bold, deliberate moves that position it far beyond a listings platform for Porsche buyers and sellers. Through the rapid growth of its online auction platform dR Live, the acquisition of Elferspot, and now the acquisition of LLP Exotic Auto Finance, the group has quietly become the most comprehensive ecosystem in the Porsche enthusiast market. The 911, the GT3 RS, and the Auction Results That Speak for Themselves Among the most searched vehicles in the world, the Porsche 911 consistently draws over 450,000 monthly searches in the United States alone, with the Porsche 911 GT3 RS drawing an additional 165,000 searches per month. That level of demand from buyers and enthusiasts is not abstract. On dR Live, duPont REGISTRY's online auction platform, it translates directly into competitive results week after week. Since dR Live launched in November 2025, Porsche has been the top-selling marque on the platform without exception. The results span the full spectrum of what makes Porsche collecting so compelling, from track-focused modern weapons to immaculately reimagined air-cooled classics. Leading the recent weekly results was a 2025 Porsche 911 GT3 RS with just 85 miles on the odometer, optioned with the highly coveted Weissach Package, which sold for $414,750. As one of the most track-focused road cars in Porsche's modern lineup, the GT3 RS continues to perform strongly on dR Live, especially when presented with low mileage and desirable specifications. That result anchors a broader trend where Porsche GT products consistently deliver some of the most reliable outcomes across the platform. Further reinforcing that pattern, a 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS, also equipped with the Weissach Package brought $515,550, demonstrating that buyer appetite for GT-series Porsches in premium specification runs deep. Beyond track cars, standout results have also come from the restomod and custom segment, where craftsmanship and execution continue to drive value. A 1990 Porsche 911 Restomod, finished in Rubystone Red and combining classic air-cooled character with modern upgrades, achieved $291,375. It is the kind of result that signals a maturing market, one where restomods built with intention and quality are earning serious respect alongside factory originals. At the pinnacle of the platform's Porsche sales sits a result that drew attention well beyond the collector car world. A 1992 Porsche 911 Targa reimagined by Singer Vehicle Design sold on dR Live for $998,550. Known as the Rio Commission and completed in 2024, it represents one of the most intricate mechanical and design executions Singer has ever produced. Powered by an Ed Pink Racing Engines 4.0-liter flat-six, the car is finished in Bespoke Green with a Burgundy targa top and an interior combining Burgundy and Sunset Orange with 18-karat gold finishes and carbon bucket seats throughout. Singer Porsches regularly command seven-figure prices on the open market, and achieving a near-million-dollar sale on a digital auction platform underscores the depth of buyer trust that dR Live has established in a remarkably short time. The platform maintains a 100% sell-through rate and a 14-day return policy, two commitments that distinguish it from virtually every other auction venue in the market. Elferspot: The World's Premier Porsche Marketplace Joins the Family The most transformative move in dRG's Porsche strategy came in February 2026, when the group acquired a majority stake in Elferspot, the leading marketplace for pre-owned and classic Porsche sports cars. Founded in Austria in 2017 by Porsche enthusiast Markus Klimesch, Elferspot was built from the ground up by Porsche fans for Porsche fans. The platform lists more than 13,000 Porsche sports cars annually, generating over $400 million in annual seller-reported sales value. What makes the Elferspot acquisition significant is not just the scale of the inventory. It is the depth of community and curation that comes with it. Elferspot has cultivated a global audience of discerning Porsche collectors and enthusiasts who trust the platform precisely because it is niche, focused, and operated by people who understand the difference between a Porsche 911 Carrera and a 911 GT3. The United States already accounts for 35% of activity on the platform, and that figure is expected to grow as Elferspot benefits from dRG's marketing infrastructure and dealer relationships. Klimesch will remain a significant shareholder and continue leading the company from Austria, preserving the authenticity that defines the brand. The earliest Porsche 356 sports cars were built in Austria before Porsche moved production to Stuttgart, and in a fitting echo of that history, Elferspot now builds on that Austrian heritage with an American partner to accelerate its global reach. For Porsche enthusiasts looking to buy or sell a used Porsche, find a classic Porsche for sale, or simply connect with a community of Porsche 911 and Porsche Carrera GT devotees, Elferspot within the dRG ecosystem represents a destination that could not have existed independently. Porsche Finance Made Simple: The LLP Exotic Auto Finance Acquisition Owning a Porsche can’t happen without completing the transaction. And for buyers of six- and seven-figure automobiles, financing is rarely straightforward. That is precisely why dRG's acquisition of LLP Exotic Auto Finance represents such a critical expansion of its Porsche-centric capabilities. Founded in 2016, LLP Exotic Auto Finance has spent nearly a decade building deep relationships with more than 300 luxury and exotic auto dealers across the United States, with Porsche among its core marques alongside Ferrari and Lamborghini. The company specializes in lease and loan solutions tailored specifically to the exotic vehicle market, with a reputation for speed, flexibility, and a car-first approach that dealers and buyers depend on to close complex transactions. LLP Exotic Auto Finance's most recent securitization received A and BB ratings from S&P Global Ratings in December 2025, reflecting the discipline and credit quality behind its portfolio. The Porsche finance market is substantial. With values in the collector Porsche segment continuing to climb, the demand for specialized leasing and financing products is real and growing. Whether a buyer is looking to finance a Porsche 911 Turbo S, lease a Porsche Cayenne, or structure a transaction around a rare Porsche Carrera GT, LLP Exotic Auto Finance brings the expertise and product flexibility that traditional bank financing cannot. "By joining duPont REGISTRY Group, we gain access to a powerful ecosystem of luxury automotive buyers, sellers and collectors," said Doug Goodman, CEO of LLP Exotic Auto Finance. "That unique deal flow creates opportunities competitors simply don't see, allowing us to provide competitive terms for clients while delivering some of the strongest dealer reserves in the market." For dRG, integrating LLP Exotic Auto Finance into its platform means a Porsche buyer can now discover, bid on, and finance a vehicle within a single connected ecosystem. From browsing used Porsches for sale on Elferspot to bidding on a Porsche 911 GT3 RS on dR Live  or the duPont REGISTRY Marketplace to completing the purchase with LLP Exotic Auto Finance, the entire journey now lives under one roof. A Platform Built for Porsche Enthusiasts, From Discovery to Ownership The strategic logic behind dRG's Porsche build-out is straightforward. Porsche enthusiasts and collectors are among the most passionate and loyal buyers in the automotive world. The Porsche SUV market, led by the Porsche Cayenne and Porsche Macan, generates hundreds of thousands of monthly searches. The Porsche 911, Porsche Cayman, Porsche Boxster, and Porsche 911 GT3 each represent active, engaged collector communities. And at the top of the market, the Porsche 918 Spyder and Porsche Carrera GT command the attention of serious collectors worldwide. No single platform had ever addressed all of these buyers at once, connecting the discovery, transaction, and financing phases in a seamless, trusted environment. duPont REGISTRY Group has now done exactly that. With Elferspot serving the enthusiast and collector community for used and classic Porsches, dR Live providing a proven auction venue for high-value Porsche cars, and LLP delivering financing solutions purpose-built for exotic vehicles, dRG has assembled an end-to-end platform that no competitor currently matches. For Porsche collectors and enthusiasts, the destination is clear.

Porsche’s “Heritage Moments” Gathers 5 Variants Of The 935

By Tyler Rampersaud –  March 30, 2026

Porsche Brings Together 5 Variants of the 935

In March 1976, the Porsche 935 was homologated, and 50 years have passed since then. In that time, the 935 has become one of the most important race cars in the Porsche lexicon, winning races and championships throughout its tenure. To celebrate that anniversary, as well as the 75th anniversary of Porsche Motorsport, five variants of the 935 have been gathered together for the first time for “Porsche Heritage Moments.” The project sees Timo Bernhard and Norbert Singer, a legendary racing driver and former racing engineer, in conversation guiding viewers through individual episodes about the cars, sharing memories and anecdotes along the way. The five cars are the original 1976 Porsche 935, the 935/77, the “Moby Dick” 935/78, the 935 “Baby,” and a prototype that went on to be a part of a cycling record attempt. Based on the 911 and made for Group 5 racing, the 935 was introduced in 1976, and Singer remembers having to work incredibly hard to make sure the car met the standards of the FIA. In 1977, the car was evolved to make use of a twin turbocharger, which alleviated some of the faults of utilizing a single large turbo. Designed for sprint races, the Porsche 935 “Baby,” had a 1.4-liter engine that placed in the two-liter class. However, the “Moby Dick” 935, in contrast, was built with Le Mans ambitions. It won the world championship, but only two of them were made in a short-lived career for the car. The 935/77 test car was a prototype that only saw one race. However, it fulfilled a different purpose, serving as a pace car for cyclist Jean-Claude Rude’s attempt to eclipse 240 kmh on a bicycle. With an incredible legacy shared across the five cars that gathered together, the Porsche 935 and its 50-year legacy is one of the most important chapters in Porsche’s 75 years of motorsport. Porsche Sonderwunsch Reimagines the 911 S/T Legacy

By Jordan Aquistapace –  March 24, 2026

Porsche Sonderwunsch Reimagines the 911 S/T Legacy

Since its humble beginnings, laying roots on the race track, Porsche has always displayed a sense of vibrancy in its cars, both in styling and performance. Today, those colorful cars are marking a resurgence as inspiration for one-off customer configurations, specifically through Porsche’s ultra-exclusive Sonderwunsch program, unlocking specific paint codes and materials. The 1972 Porsche 911 S/T, finished in a Phoenix Red livery, earned its place the hard way, through 27 entries in the Camel GT Challenge across circuits like Sebring and Daytona. It wasn’t a factory RSR, either. It was a modified privateer passion project, shaped by necessity and sharpened by teams like Brumos Racing. Wider rear wheels, purposeful upgrades, and that loud paint gave it a presence like no other. Its racing life ended in 1978 after a crash in Trois-Rivières, but like many great competition cars, the story didn’t stop there.Decades later, now part of a Swiss collection, the same car became something more than just a restored artifact. Through Porsche’s Sonderwunsch program, a 992-generation 911 S/T was commissioned as a one-off tribute, not a replica. It’s not about copying history, it’s about interpreting it. The new 911 S/T focuses heavily on its roots, with Phoenix Red, while subtle flashes of Signal Yellow shine through in deliberate places. The design shies away from period-correct sponsor decals and opts for hand-painted gradients and color transitions that look like motion captured in paint. Interior characteristics quietly reference the Camel GT era without veering into nostalgia, with embroidered headrests, etched trim, and even door graphics nod to the car’s racing lineage. There’s also a subtle asymmetry carried over from the original, mirrored in the use of removable aerodiscs inspired by modern GT3 RS development. It’s the blend of old and new, analog soul and modern execution, that makes the Sonderwunsch 911 S/T so influential. Not just a tribute, but proof that the right kind of history doesn’t fade, it evolves. All Porsche 911 S/T Inventory

Petrolicious’ Latest Film Spotlights Owner With Two Porsche 996 GT2s

Petrolicious’ Latest Film Spotlights Owner With Two Porsche 996 GT2s

Mention “widowmaker” in any Porsche circle, and the conversation usually shifts to the 930 Turbo. But those who know the German marque inside out will quickly tell you that the list is much longer and there are plenty more that fit that narrative. Think models like the 904/8 Bergspyder, 911 GT2s (993, 997.2), and you can also throw the Carrera GT in there for good measure.  Right in the middle of that conversation sits the 911 GT2 (996), a car that Petrolicious has just brought back into focus with a new film that follows owner Kamil Dubiel, who owns not one, but two GT2s, with one being a standard GT2 and the other the much rarer GT2s equipped with the ClubSport Package (the black car) features a fire extinguisher, six-point harnesses, and racing bucket seats. It is believed that only 80 were equipped with the Clubsport package. His perspective highlights a simple truth: the 996 GT2 rewards skill. Built between 2001 and 2005, Porsche introduced the 996 GT2, which went against the brand’s own trajectory toward refinement and usability. It did away with traction control and stability systems entirely, pairing rear-wheel drive with a 3.6-liter twin-turbo Mezger powerplant (M96/70S) that produces 462 between horsepower and 476 on the facelift model.    The result was a car that relied entirely on driver input, without electronic intervention. Even its standard carbon ceramic brakes put a focus on performance, reducing unsprung weight and sharpening feedback. Overall weight savings add up to 220 pounds. Also, for years, the 996 carried the burden of being an outlier. It introduced water cooling and controversial fried-egg headlights that divided enthusiasts, often leaving it overlooked in the shadow of earlier and later 911s. That perception is now shifting, as collectors begin to recognize the significance of the generation, especially its most extreme variants.  The GT2 stands at the sharpest end of that spectrum, representing the rawest expression of Porsche’s engineering during that era. With fewer than 1,300 examples produced worldwide (963 pre-facelift), including a small number of aforementioned Clubsport variants like the black example seen here with race-inspired equipment, the 996 GT2 carries both rarity and significance. How Porsche’s Latest Patent Could Preserve the Manual Experience

By Khris Bharath –  March 19, 2026

How Porsche’s Latest Patent Could Preserve the Manual Experience

At a time when the manual transmission is quietly fading from modern cars (fewer than 30 models in the U.S. can be bought new with a manual in 2026), Porsche has taken an unexpected step. A recently published patent suggests the company is not ready to abandon the gear lever just yet.  The patent filed with the German Patent and Trademark Office on August 30, 2024, and published on March 5, 2026, outlines a shift-by-wire system. In this system, there is no mechanical linkage between the lever and the transmission. Instead, sensors interpret movement across multiple axes, where forward and backward inputs determine gear selection, while lateral movement defines gate positioning, recreating the structure of a manual gearbox. Essentially, you have a single gear selector with two operating modes, where in one, it behaves like a conventional automatic, while in the other, it replicates a traditional H-pattern manual, complete with tactile feedback through the driver. Within Automotive, we have seen such systems being implemented with steer-by-wire systems, where the steering wheel no longer relies on a direct mechanical connection to the front wheels. The Tesla Cybertruck has such a system.  The same principle has also existed in aviation for decades through fly-by-wire systems, where pilots do not directly control vital surfaces through cables in many modern aircraft. Instead, their inputs are processed by computers and software that then command the aircraft’s systems with precision. But coming back to Porsche, why preserve the manual at all? Porsche’s PDK delivers faster shifts, improved efficiency, and simplifies homologation. Meanwhile, each manual variant requires separate testing cycles, validation, and certification, and for low-volume configurations, the economics no longer make sense. Having said that, the absence of a manual transforms the experience, especially for a performance car. In a car like the 911 or 718, the act of selecting and going through the gears yourself adds to the fun factor.  The spacing between gates, the resistance through the lever, even the slight notchiness when cold all contribute to the experience. Besides this, if we look at the current collector car market, record-setting modern exotics from the past 30 years routinely feature a stick and three pedals. Even historic models going all the way back to the 917 have famously featured a wooden gear lever for the manual transmission. Engineers are now attempting to replicate that interaction without a physical linkage. Other manufacturers are exploring similar solutions to retain the engagement factor, including Toyota, which has been developing a manual-style interface for electric vehicles, aiming to simulate clutch engagement and gear changes despite the absence of a traditional gearbox.  Hyundai has already introduced its simulated gear shifts in the Ioniq 5 N, where programmed “gear shifts” and staged power delivery recreate the sensation of a multi-gear transmission. While there is no confirmation about when this system will reach production, even the intent in itself should be promising for enthusiasts who seek driver engagement from Porsche's future models. Porsche 963 to Run Historic Mobil 1 911 GT1-Inspired Livery at 12 Hours of Sebring

By Khris Bharath –  March 18, 2026

Porsche 963 to Run Historic Mobil 1 911 GT1-Inspired Livery at 12 Hours of Sebring

Porsche has just unveiled a striking new Mobil 1 livery for both its 963 prototypes ahead of the 12 Hours of Sebring, marking 30 years of technical collaboration with ExxonMobil.  Compared to the traditional red and black colors, the Sebring livery adopts a predominantly white base, accented by bold blue and red striping inspired by the 1996 Porsche 911 GT1. It is cleaner, more retro in tone, and deliberately tied to a defining moment when Porsche and Mobil 1 first aligned on both racing and road car development. <- Gallery -> “The close and highly trusted partnership between Porsche and Mobil 1 has produced countless unforgettable moments and lasting innovations.” - Thomas Laudenbach, Vice President, Porsche Motorsport. With Porsche having withdrawn its factory effort from the FIA World Endurance Championship after the 2025 season, historic venues like Sebring on the IMSA race calendar now carry greater importance and weight within Porsche’s global motorsport program. The 3.74-mile circuit, built on a former military airfield in Central Florida, remains one of the most punishing venues in endurance racing. Around 30 percent of the surface consists of concrete slabs, creating sustained vibration and stress across the gruelling 12-hour race. It is a track that rewards durability as much as outright speed. Last season, Porsche Penske Motorsport secured both the IMSA GTP manufacturer and team championships, supported by victories at Daytona and Sebring. A one-two finish here confirmed the 963’s ability to combine pace with consistency. “In the tightly contested IMSA series, the smallest details make the difference,” - Urs Kuratle, Director Factory Motorsport LMDh. Porsche enters as the benchmark. The #7 car, driven by Felipe Nasr, Julien Andlauer, and Laurin Heinrich, leads the championship after victory at Daytona in January this year. The sister #6 entry sits fourth, while Porsche leads the manufacturers’ standings. Beyond GTP, Porsche fields multiple 911 GT3 R entries across GTD Pro and GTD, alongside seven 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport cars in the Michelin Pilot Challenge. The new 992.2-based 911 Cup car also debuts in North America this week. With 19 overall Sebring victories, Porsche holds the event’s benchmark. This weekend, the 963 carries that legacy forward at a moment when the German marque’s endurance future is being reshaped around North America. View All Porsches For Sale Images: Porsche Motorsports
